That doesn't seem right to me. You WERE very fortunate my young friend. (My father is 89, so will die relatively soon, and I will no opportunity to say goodbye.) Looking back, reflecting on the implications of my childhood, breakout, and growing distance to my family, I’d say it was never easy. But it gave strengh and a sudden maturity which has been helpful in life. It will help you too, I’m sure.

While I had great potential, I myself wasted part of my professional life for a while (window cleaner + interim). What happiness. I have never enjoyed life like it is today. You are a very perspective young man who happens to do great videos. But there is only so much any one person can know. So I will tell my story, maybe it might help someone else. First the obvious. This CULT is a completely crazy place to spend ones life ! ! ! Good for you on getting out so young. I am 74 now. My wife died 12 years ago. We had a fantastic marriage in spite of the CULT :) When we married in our early twenties she was Catholic and I was agnostic. We agreed not to talk about religion. At times I would attend the Catholic church with her. We made many long life friends. HOW EVER. In 1981 she began studying the Bible with the Witnesses. She became very serious very quickly. She got Baptized on 12 31 1983. I studied with an elder off and on for about 25 years. I did attend meetings with her when I could. I thought ,I went to the Catholic Church with her and I did not believe so why not go with her to the Kingdom Hall even tho I was not really interested in religion. How ever what I did not know was what I did not know. Over that 25 years of attending meetings on known to me I was very, very slowly being brain washed by this religious CULT. Sooooo when my wife died the elders convinced me to get baptized, which I did, Here's the trick they used. They told me Nita my late wife would be very disappointed if I were not there to be with her in paradise. Soooooo I did. About 2 years later I met a wonderful lady who happened to be a Lutheran. She wanted to meet my friends. So one of the places I took her to was the Kingdom Hall and she began a Bible study with an Elders wife. She knew her Bible very well. Sooooo The Elders were not happy with her. They told me by my dating this "Worldly women I was setting a very bad example for the young ones in the congregation. Sooooo they decided to punish me. They "MARKED" me and all privileges were taken from me. Sooooo like a brain washed idiot, I stopped seeing her. This is going to get a bit long BUT I may as well continue. Next thing my oldest son who was 30 met a J W girl age 28 from about 800 miles from where we lived. They became interested in one another Soooo I decided to rent an apartment for a period of 4 months for her so they could spend more time together. You understand the reason I was "Marked" for seeing my lady friend was because we were unevenly yoked. My son and his new friend were not. They were both baptized witnesses in good standing. Sooooo what did the Elders do, they had a meeting with her and basically told her to go back to where she came from. Mind you ,I had just spent several thousands of dollars renting a place for here. The scales fell from my eyes. They, the elders had trashed my life and now they were about to do the same thing to my son and his new friend. I met with one of the elders in his office. As I was approaching his office I told myself I would remain calm no matter what. As the discussion began I was sitting in a chair directly on the opposite side of his desk with my arms on his desk.Now i have worked hard all my life so I am a very powerful guy. As things began to heat up I exploded, I really could not contain myself. As I stood up, I accidentally tipped this very large desk over on top of him and walked out of his office. Luckily he was not hurt to bad. A week later they put their house up "FOR SALE" and moved 300 miles away. My Son married his girl and are very happily married. I am still seeing my lady friend (not so much since covid 19). I am no longer in the CULT but I am not disfellow-shipped. Sooooo I can still talk to all 7 of my children and ALL of my grand children at least for now. What did I learn from all this. This Cult hides what they are up to very , very well. Also it is completely DEMONIC. They will try to destroy your life if you let them. They have over 1100 rules, if you break one of them they will kick you out and you WILL lose your "friends" and family ! ! ! :( :( :( . . . . . . AND very likely your LIFE. ( think suicide, there's a lot of that going on in there) BTW one great thing came from all this. I now believe in GOD and I am a Christian. I am putting my life back together as best I can. Also the best thing to do if you leave the CULT and you become depressed, which you will, is to start "power walking" for at least one hour per day. It is much, much better than drugs and it is FREE ! ! ! :) :) :)

Great comment. Iam 44 now, I questioned the so called truth around 13 and never brought into it. I never had a good relationship with me parents because of it. I couldn't believe the religion and couldn't pretend too. I felt I couldn't lie to my parents about it so I made atough decision to follow the path before me. Iam glad that's over now.

Hey there! Don't apologize for ranting, we all need to do that since what we've been through :D Anyway I'm 20 currently, will turn 21 in july (Which means I can drink alcohol in the US Wuup Wuup!) Really wanna visit the US some day, it would be an expensive journey but it'll be worth it! :D And I'm from Denmark, I guess it's different for me since I was born into the religion, and the way I "Woke Up" was when they quoted scriptures, I started to actually read the entire context, which put me into a rabbit hole of question's and eventually woke up to realize the entire thing is false. Shunning,1975, and 607 B.C. is some of the biggest for me, but there is so much more than that tbh. And I did try and wake up my parents, but they are too much in it. As of right now there is no way they will realize it's fake. If you had left at an earlier age you may have failed by for instance getting into drugs or confusing leads that end in disaster. Anyway I'm 20 currently, will turn 21 in july (Which means I can drink alcohol in the US Wuup Wuup!) Really wanna visit the US some day, it would be an expensive journey but it'll be worth it! :D
And I'm from Denmark, I guess it's different for me since I was born into the religion, and the way I "Woke Up" was when they quoted scriptures, I started to actually read the entire context, which put me into a rabbit hole of question's and eventually woke up to realize the entire thing is false. Shunning,1975, and 607 B.C. is some of the biggest for me, but there is so much more than that tbh.
And I did try and wake up my parents, but they are too much in it. As of right now there is no way they will realize it's fake. Ofcourse I'm sorry for them for not being able to live their lives to the fullest, but to them it's the best life ever and they are happy it seems.
But thanks alot for the nice comment, hopefully I'll visit California some day soon in the future after all the corona is over :D

If you had left at an earlier age you may have failed by for instance getting into drugs or confusing leads that end in disaster. The Mormon LDS kids go nuts when they leave and try to make up for time lost. You have an amazing voice for broadcasting. I’ve been around the movie business for years and see your potential. As for life’s coarse I had the same. Conversation via e mail with Elizabeth Smart who was kidnapped and raped for a long time. It changed her life and actually gave her a calling now to help other people who were abused. She was very sheltered before this happened. Now she is an expert for others. Just an idea. God Bless. By the way. In your very post you are saying cult speak. ‘Life in the world’. Isolating your members from everyone else - trying to separate them mentally. That’s what cults do. You can’t just interact and treat people as individuals. Instead for you it’s jws and non jw to you it sounds like. Like we live on different planets or as if we are different species.
It’s been hammered into your mind that you can’t be happy outside that cult group. As if people outside that group are bad. If this guy wants to come back to the cult later he will if its so awfully terrible out here in these foreign lands. But I think you know this guy is likely done with that group forever.
