@@vac59 I need and want more USB connections. I shouldn't need a USB hub for a motherboard that's going to cost as much as that does. I have the Asus x670e-i motherboard and it have plenty of USB ports and it's a couple years old now. No excuses.

@@drewnewby they are losing touch with reality if that's the price, this board is very basic & it looks very stripped down. It's a nice tiny board but nowhere near Taichi specs
Asrock's Z890i Nova Wifi is better in every way ;) and in the U.S., it costs less. Reminds me of my first ITX build, I suppose ITX options haven't changed much aside from pcie5 options. My Z390 ITX/AC PG Asrock board still has similar enough with 2 x m.2 one in the rear, really did love having just 2 dimms DDR4 then, balancing DDR5 on 4 dimm boards isn't as nice speed wise. Have been eyeing what's new in ITX, next build up from 12th 12900KF might be AM5. Would also check the audio codecs, Believe my last ITX had a nicer than normal codec so it's still useful for audio work. Not a lot of usb ports, 1 usb c, 5 others, my old ITX has 6 and a lightning port. Usually keyboard, mouse, audio gear, camera (usb-c) would want another at minimum in case I needed to connect more. Looking at my Z690s (not Itx) have 6 usbs and a usb-c. While some more connections could be added on the case front they still would be slower.

it's so difficult to choose between this MB and the ASRock Z890I Nova WiFi LGA 1851 Mini ITX Motherboard I just think the images for it make it look ugly. I hope you can do a review on this model as well. I'm sure it's a better MB
Who is using motherboard graphics and WiFi on premium boards? Why can't we get rid of those and add more USBs to the rear I/O? Outside that and the PWM headers it looks great, what a shame.
between msi gigabyte and asus you get the least with gigabyte for the same price. for 350 i can’t see why anyone would pick this board? this should be 269 max. msi gives way more usb. 2 thunderbolts, 4 m.2 and 5g lan for 369. this is doa at this price
My history with Gigabyte isn't a good one however stuff happens with all manufactures this MB looks great but for me I would still look at MSI or Asus to compare. Price would sway my choice.

I think they evolving backwards compared to older gen: - less sata ports - less standard fan headers - proprietary connectors on wifi I just don't like it. Proprietary connectors suck.
You will have a much better time not using any brands packaged software. Just grab the drivers files from the website when needed. Most software bundled is mostly telemetry anyway.
This gigabyte is a no no, AsRock z890i is cheaper with a better build quality and features, more power phases, 10layer 2oz, more ports, more m.2, best value for me.

@@privatebenfallsprivat8428 its 2024. Wtf are u doing with an itx mobo and more sata ports? Most SFF cases dont even allow 2 sata ssds and even then u are usually losing one fan space.
Not a deal breaker for me. I never use sata drives on a mini itx build. I wouldn’t mind either if they get rid of it if they reduce the overall price and of the board.
I don't know what your complaining about, it's a mini itx motherboard. Sata has been capped out 550mbs speeds for years now. Sata ssds are bigger too. Nvme is the way to go
Wow that is a serious lack of USB ports on the back. I would expect it on a B series but not a Z

@@robertmorrison4020 Their B650 for AM5 had more. Granted just 1 more but still.
How many usbs do you need? There is also the front panel group of USBs 😂 Let’s be honest, this small platform you will be using a USB hub nearby.

The quick release PCIE slot - on ITX should 100% become the standard, especially one you can just poke with a pen/screwdriver to unlock the slot.
A wooden chopstick is safer than a screwdriver.
You can do that with basically any board anyway.
