I like that the entry-level Z890 motherboards come with enough VRM to run the top chip at 100% and use everything the chipset offers, with the mid/high-end models being expended with extra controllers and overkill VRM. It's a throwback to the LGA 115x and LGA 2011 days.
I think Gigabyte needs a slight rebrand for their motherboards, i don't enjoy the "Aorus" name, branding, logo or the overall aesthetic OVER Asus or MSI's offerings, i believe they are capable of doing something a bit better because i think people tend to prioritize the aesthetic of a motherboard when purchasing probably way higher than they should.
Man I'm wondering where all the ASRock overviews/reviews are for Z890 I've seen Asus, MSi, and Gigabyte all over but hardly any coverage on ASRocks new boards.
Very helpful videos! after listening to you I'm gonna choose what I need and not just because it looks good after all the motherboard is just going to get buried under all the other parts anyway so it's better to save the money ^_^
@@dankmemes3153 Maybe I'm just "okay" with the price because I'm looking to upgrade from 6700K and I remember I buy Z170 Pro Gaming for 170-180 USD in my country. But during these day the gamer board are just starting at 500 for normal price lmao
Backplate is nice. Power delivery on the Master is already stupidly overbuilt for what the new CPUs will require. So just for 10 Gigabit, I'd say Master, or wait for the ProArt to come out. OR just buy a cheaper board and a $50-70 10G PCIe addin card.
All these are by no means entry level boards and look great but can't help but feel they nerfed the elite to justify the existence of the master. On a side node, the size of that armor on the pci-e slot is telling of how big the next gen GPU's are going to be damn
I liked the Gigabyte boards with the Z890 chip less in terms of construction, I like MSI and ASUS more even though ASUS I don't like their UEFI and ASUS prices are also slightly more expensive in Israel than MSI in the same category.
Seems like Gigabyte have cut costs on their mid range boards by using Realtek LAN where they used to use Intel and they're a bit lacking in terms of USB ports, MSI is the way to go. I guess the main problem is the state of the CPUs themselves, hopefully it gets sorted soon because right now there is no compelling reason to buy this platform.
@@TechTesters Actually I take it back - i was comparing the Z890 Aorus Elite to my Z790 Aorus Elite X (which has Intel) but the Z790 Aorus Elite (non X) does indeed have Realtek so Gigabyte haven't made any change this generation. Also I don't think there is anything terribly wrong with Realtek, just that they tend to appear on cheaper boards. MSI gets my vote due to it being the same price with better LAN and two thunder bolt ports + extra USBC, where the Gigabyte just has one Thunderbolt on the rear I/O. It's videos like yours that make it easy to decide, thanks!
wow. you gotta go with the top board at $660 to get 10 gb ethernet. and still no thunderbolt 5. what a rip. I'll stick with my $300 14th gen i9 board by gigabyte which has 10 gb. $700 to $1000 now you gotta spend for the same thing that use come with a $350 board. now we have corruption and major greed in motherboards. just like buying a new car nowadays. 60 grand plus out the door for a new car or truck. finance for 7 years. nuts. I'll stick with used cars. it gets hit while you are still paying off the loan your screwed. not to mention the high cost of auto insurance.
I love the way you break down all of the features and differences between the various models. No one does it better!
Glad you think so! Thanks once again!

They're expensive now but at least they're overbuilt. Didn't the Hero back in the 115x days have 4 phases / 8 stages or so? :D
Bedankt Nada voor de review van de Gigabyte Z890 moederbord-serie 💯🙏💪
Graag gedaan :)
Thanks TT!
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
When the asrock lineup?
I'll see if they want to remove me from the blacklist :)
Wonderful review
Thank you!
I am not thrilled about the new Intel launch - but on the positive side: we get more Nada videos ^^
I'm confused about chipset to choose the x870 or z890 chipset. But actually I want x3d😅
Could you ask Gigabyte when the AI TOP are coming out? Really interested in those
I'll ask!
Thank you.
Welcome!
No thunderbolt 5? 💔
Only on the Extreme. I guess we won't see it more until Intel starts adding it chip/chipset side.
Ah!!!!

I don't mind the Aorus parts. I do think their lower end models like DS3H and so on can learn from the MSI Pro Z890-A: less is more. Right?
I love her features too : )
Gigabyte has another version of their motherboards that names AI TOP! Pls preview that also when u will get hands on it.
the power buttons and led on the motherboard should be standard on all boards
I really like the Z890 Aorus Master with 10G LAN, but it's a shame that the X870E version has only 5G LAN.
5G on 600$+ boards should be illegal.
@@TechTesters Agree. The Z890 ASUS ROG MAXIMUS is probably the most expensive motherboard without 10G LAN.

I'd love to do something similar with ASRock but I think I'm still blacklisted :D

Thank you! And smart :)
Are you limited to using the onboard power switch or can you use the case button?
Of course you can use case button, this is additional feature
Like MrFilip says, it's just a nice extra :)
I think all these 3 boards are very reasonable for the price and features when compared to the Asus lol
Z790 aorus master was $500 tho. Quite the price hike

I need 10G so there is only the Ace and the Master. VRM and Backplate on the ACE are better BUT do you really need them? I don't know / think.....

Nice, but the new Intel CPU range seems to have big problems, performance and stability wise ... so a NON-BUY ... for the next year(s).
I can't comment. But, new upload in about 24 minutes :D

To me the Elite actually seems really good. Kinda makes everything above it feel too expensive for what they add.
Aorus elite is very valuable ❤
Agreed :)

Is Realtek really still an issue atm? Isn't it mostly for virtualisation?

I need it to be white so no other choise at moment🤣🤣
Elite has an Ice version too :)

👍👍❤❤❤
Do not buy gigabyte motherboard and support really bad now. No post three of them. I went with Asus Z890 or X870 no issue and works great.

Folks still buying intel? AMD board reviews please please
Feels like intel is spending more on coverage/marketing
I just try to cover what I can get my hands on, which has been mostly Intel. I will have some ASUS AM5 boards soon, but MSI/GB supply is very limited.
for the two people who use thunderbolt lol
These Thunderbolt ports now all work as USB 4 ports as well. Previous, they'd run USB at 10Gb. So I think they're actually a nice upgrade.
@@TechTestersZ690 Aorus Master, nothing close to 10gbps on those ports?
