I put mine in the dishwasher. It looks and smells like new but the problem is worse now. I tried changing the batteries, but I think the water splashing inside is causing a short.

The weird thing is that both of my controllers stopped working at the same time new batteries and everything but once my first one wouldn’t turn on and tried my second one also wouldn’t turn on

I had the problem that batteries were fine, but the controller turns off shortly after that. Fixed the problem like so: 1) unplug the power cable from xbox for a minute or so 2) Take off the batteries from controller, let it sit like this also for a minute. 3) replug the power cable to Xbox 4) insert USB wire to controller without batteries. 5) turn on console by controller 6) reinstall the batteries to controller. 7) enjoy

Just plug your xbox controller to your Xbox with the cable. I think sometimes the xbox and the controller forget each other and needs to be re-synced.

so my controller still works but the light blinks twice then it fades off and its shut off but the batterie packs are pretty much brand new and not worn out idk why its doing this i just charged it ive tried plugging it in and its still not working
I had the same problem with one I got off eBay today. With brand new batteries it refuses to tun on. With with a micro usb cable in my Mac mini M1 it tuns on and even bluetooth works. But oddly enough when I disconnect the micro usb cable it stays lit and continues to work. After taking the batteries out it does not turn on unless the cable is inserted. But if batteries do not work then why does it work when the cable is unplugged. If batteries do not work then it should turn off.

My problem is: my controller won’t turn on by pressing the button. It flashes but doesn’t turn on. When I plug it into the Series S console, it turns the console on and then it works normally. Even without a cable. I’m able to turn the console off, but not to turn it back on. To do it I always need to plug the controller with a USB cable first… weird

@@coldeditz12 I suspect it's kind of the same problem the video talks about: the batteries. I've been using some SONY recheargeable batteries on my controller. When they're at full charge, the controller turns the console on no problem. At about 30% or less charge the controller can't turn the console on. If you have a similar problem, I'd advise you to use the rechargeable batteries strictly as the manual recommends because these problems started when I adopted this habit of putting the batteries back to charge before they were fully discharged (something the manual strictly advices against).

My controller works perfectly, and my batteries are perfect and rechargeable, but when i press the x, it doesn’t even light up then turn off, it stays off, it happened when i tried to put the battery casing back on, so maybe i crushed a circuit
Yeah my blue controller will not do anything, the light does not turn on at all. Fresh batteries, plugged it in and nothing happens. I was careful with it too.

Just unplug your Xbox for about 30 seconds and plug it back in then trun your Xbox on with the controller and it should work it worked for me and I hope this helps everyone out

my brand new batteries are in the controller but it wont turn on unless theres a wire in it. It used to stay on with the batteries inside after i took the wire out but it seems to not do that anymore
ive read some forums that say that the Series s/x controllers have a power deliver chip defect in the earlier models some even being shipped with it installed the wrong way in causing it fry the board
I got a brand new controller. It worked bout 2 times. It doesn't even blink when I try to turn it on.

If it's not the batteries is your Xbox your Xbox haves a part of the code to turn your controller on turn it off hold your connection button on the Xbox then test your computer there make sure you unplug it first

i just bought this controller, and i had the old controller with the rechargable and everything... thing is the new one doesnt work the old rechargeable battries.. and i checked the battries with the old one and its still wont turn on.. can only work with cable, any fix for that
Never owned an Xbox before. Always been a PS guy. I didn’t realize that I had the batteries in the wrong way. The prongs look the exact same both ways so I thought the batteries had to go in the same way 😅 thanks for the help though. Turned on just fine and connected after that

Turn your xbox console completely off by holding down the power button for a few seconds then turn it back on again. That worked for me

my controller is having an issue where it is completely functional wired, but when i attempt to turn it on wireless the xbox light flashes for a second then the controller goes dead. This controller is like 2-3 months old and i didnt do anything to harm it so I am not sure what to do now. kinda frustrating because I was playing a game until like 2 in the morning and the next day its half functional :/

I couldnt get mine to power on at all unless plugged in. I spent hours fixing windows update (6 hours) so that I could get access to Xbox accessories to update the controller, only to find out the firmware was up to date anyway; and yet still, as soon as I would unplug the controller it would become completely dead. After a while I decided to put in a new new set of batteries ( to clarify: a second set of new batteries), but when I put them in the first time I screwed up and put the positives facing the same direction, after realizing my mistake and flipped the one batteriy around to face in the correct direction and it worked!
I absolutley hate it when this kind of thing happens. I have no idea what was wrong, and I have no idea what the solution to the thing that was wrong was. I just want to scream, its my day off, I want to play Hogwarts Legacy, not be spending 6 hours fixing an issue I dont understand how I fixed it. First world problems I know, but 6 hours of first world problems :(

So I just had this problem where my xbox is on. Yet my controller wouldn't connect I kept pressing home button it would flash then turn off. I tried hitting the sync button on both xbox and controller. The one thing that fixed it. Is turning my xbox off unplugging it for a few minutes. Hope this helps some of ya.

For me I was trying to pair my controller and it would act paired but then act dead and whenever I tried playing a cord from it into the Xbox it wouldn't turn on I recommend hard resetting if you had my problem

Well didn’t nun of that worked for me . But I Unplug my Xbox for about 20 seconds then plug it back in. Then I Put the control right next too it , Turned the Xbox on then the control . Finally it came on .
I use these charger packs I think they ruined my controller. Not even a year old and it stops working. Doesn't even work while plugged in! I have the Series S, too.
who wouldn't try the battery thing. of course I tried the batteries. I don't have a wire for my controller so I can't just plug it in. I've never had a problem with it. sometimes I'll have to re-sync the controller which is already odd. sounds like I need a new controller. freaking sucks cuz I don't have time to go get another. gonna have to go a month before I can watch my TV or play a game. fantastic.

All my controllers started doing it. It started with one, so I played with my different controller then that one started doing it so I started playing with my other controller, and that one started doing it and now I have no controllers. I tried that with all of my controllers, and it didn’t work.

Well it wasn't the battery. Had it plugged into the Xbox and was doing nothing. My batteries were all fully charged. Had to power cycle my Xbox while the controller was connected. I guess it had an update.

So after hours of trouble shooting, and coming to the conclusion my controller is faulty.. sending away for a replacement... encountering the same trouble with my replacement I finally discovered I was putting the batteries in the wrong way...
Yea it was so weird cause I put in brand new batteries and they didn’t work, then I put in another pair and still didn’t work, yet the third try it finally goes but when I put the batteries into other devices they work?? Makes no sense to me 💀
