Quick question have you ever seen a TRX engine swap into a Ram? I know that the engines are very similar. I considered trying to swap a TRX engine into my truck.
It all depends how many hills you're climbing and the speed you're traveling etc. Sometimes having more power can help with mpg because you don't have to struggle as much to get going so you can stay lighter on the throttle using less fuel. Gearing comes into play too. I don't think that would be too bad towing a decent load (10.4)
Only thing wrong that a lot of ppl don’t know but tow chains are supposed to be crossed. So that way if a hitch disconnect occurs the chains can cradle the hitch tongue. Some super Troopers will give you shit over that and give you a ticket. I didn’t know that until I had to learn to haul double trailers as a cdl holder as the back trailer is connected to a converter dolly that connects to a pintle hook which also has chains as a secondary. then I learned that it applies across the board to any vehicle towing a trailer on a hitch or pintle hook.
I drive an F-450 with a trailer to haul tires. And whenever someone else disconnects the trailer and hooks it back I have to double check if the chains are crossed. I always have to fix them.

It wasn’t that the bolts were cheap metal but they where the only thing holding that trailer on the truck while you where smashing on it 😂. Keep up the good work man! God bless you you are living the dream.
I know where a 71 duster is has 72 front end upgrade " disc brakes" needs new floor pans under driver and passenger floor . Body is straight and has original slant 6 that still ran a couple years ago. I'm sure you would toss the engine because with the front end swap not like it's a numbers matching car anymore. Guy wanted$5k last time I saw him.
I had the same exact thing happen to my ram 1500 hitch. The bolt that goes thru the bumper came loose and my hitch bent just like yours… luckily i had gotten the warranty for the hitch when it was installed dealer covered it and all is well now. I’d say to check the bolt on the bumper every time you tow lol also get some grade 8 bolts for the part the bolts to the frame.
I've never been to Atlanta ... I guess its no different than any other major city. Lots of crime and bad areas as well as good areas but you don't need to chance losing one of those vehicles... just keep on rolling through.

The smaller carriage bolts just hold it in place, it must have been installed incorrectly before you got it.
I had a 2015 ram RT & sold it due to my daughter being born I'm buying another one now and doing this swap it's what dodge should have did not the T. rex in my opinion great job man enjoy it
That mpg is probably about normal for towing at about 10 to 11 mpgs you will obviously get significantly better mileage once you don’t have the trailer behind you
People on here saying rams are slow dont even know that those 10 speeds really help them. I raced a bunch of 6 speed 5.0’s and they’re not a problem for my 8 speed

Your missing the 2 bolts that are under the bumper on the side of the receiver. Get under bumper an you will see were the 2 bolts go in. As always thanks for the content.
I tow a 22ft travel trailer with a Durango hellcat and I actually get better gas mileage towing than just driving around in the city with no trailer! I see between 10-12 mpg towing.
Iv noticed in my ram its almost exactly 1 mpg higher than the hand calculated number. Within hundredths. Which is nice to know pretty much exactly what im getting

Unfortunately, 10 mpg is about what you should expect from a gas V8 pulling loaded car trailer. That's about what I get in my Ram 1500 5.7, you're not doing too bad.
Depends on where the wheels on the trailer are. If theyre in the middle then itd make it worst since all the weight would be on the back side with very low on the hitch. But if the wheels are towards the back then yeah itd put more weight on the trailer vs the hitch
My dad has a 2011 ram 1500 5.7 with a hemi and that damn thing pulls he can do 0/60mph in 3. Something seconds and he has about 800hp so when I seen this o thought of that truck lol

A 5.7 wouldn't get any better mileage than that pulling a loaded trailer. Considering your setup , the mileage isn't bad.
10.4 isn’t bad at all. I get about 7 towing with my 6.4 Hemi 3500.

I get about 10 with an 18ft long open landscape trailer with a ramp gate covered with expanded steel, tandem axle. 2,250lbs empty.

10 mpg while towing another vehicle is not bad.

Best mileage Iv ever gotten in my trackhawk tuned on e85 is 12mpg.
in town where it’s mostly driven I get 6mpg
E85 will use like 30% more fuel than like 93 octane. So that is about right.

You never want more weight behind the axle than infront of the axle on a trailer it will cause it to sway and is how a lot of accidents are caused

not hard , your just gonna have to make room for the 8 speed trans versus the 5 speed
