Chen kun one of the best actors ever, i watched this on Netflix years ago but could forget chen kun and nini acting, here again rewatching it in TH-cam
Same😮 for me ! I've watched this magnificent drama (for me, the very best) 3 dozens (yes, 3 dozens !) of times on Netflix, and here I am again, rewatching it on TH-cam, above all, bicause of great actor CHEN Kun. Yes, I adore Him !!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Im so glad to have found Rise of the Phoenix on TH-cam, i watched the whole series twice when it was on Netflix. My ultimate favourite, top periodic series that got me obsessed about dramas set in these times. Honestly, love it. ❤️ I would tell my Chinese colleague all about it and he'll laugh saying it's just too unnecessary with so many episodes and he prefers American drama, but i dont. Im a New Zealander that loves Chinese and Korean drama set in these historic times. ❤️ Everything in ROTP is impeccable, scenes, clothing, acting, hair, makeup, armour. Im telling you, im obsessed 😅 I got my little sister into this too. I wish the series was longer and that it didnt end the way it did 😢 My wish is that they both lived, had their own family, babies and grew old together, then their children carried on the series 😆 Dreams are free.... I hope everone involved in making this series understands how much foreigners love appreciate it. Well done, 感谢你杰出的工作

Two of the most beautiful and talented actors with breathtaking chemistry. In my opinion, it is the best of the best 😊Chinese film. It is filled with absolutely exquisite music, beautiful wardrobes, fantastic cast, great dancing, beautiful scenery. On all levels, BRAVO. 🌏

It can't beat Love like the Galaxy the Male lead and female lead and all the casts were on point so perfect and Princess agent so amazing the best also
Feng Zhiwei is extremely intelligent and quick to form the clever repartee, making her the ideal young royale to pair with our hero. Excellent plot and character development. 🎉
This was my first. I've traveled through many a historic drama from China since... but Chen Kun is like living scupture, and his character's relationship with Nini's character is beautifully unique. I am back.

I have watched dozens of these Chinese dramas and been so impressed with each one. The last really good one was Ruyi in the Palace. I generally give each new series one episode. If it doesn't grip me, I move on, as a time investment in 80 episodes is a lot ! This one gripped me in 10 minutes. I am on Episode 7 and am certainly not disappointed. The acting of even minor parts is superb. Some of the scenes between the main actors are mesmerising and I sometimes stop breathing, I am so involved. The sets, costumes, photography, script, everything is perfection. The two main stars are very different from the usual Chinese dramas. Prince Chu's acting style is unique and reminds me of Robert De Niro - laid back but really intense and - so interesting !

It is just looking like another version of "Legend of Fuayo" a Grand Political Drama. As indian i really proud of these kind of dramas. China n we are Worlds ancient civilizations, both have lot of similarities in their histories, Culture and traditions except Food😅. But only difference is china Bravely showing their history to the world n We are showing Invaders history to the world😅😅
The story started out very well, the flow of the story was also good till the last few episodes. I wish that if they ever make a remake of this story, they should have stuck with the novel, at least in the book, Feng Zhiwei faked her own death, and Ning Yi gave up his thrown for his younger half brother, faked his own death as well, just to be with Feng Zhiwei. I was in the middle of the episode and checked out the last few episodes, did a little research and read comments from some people who compared the novel from the film. Have the same sentiments as they do. Hope they do create a remake of this novel and consider a happy ending for Feng Zhiwei and Ning Yi by staying true to the ending of the novel.
I first watched this series on Netflix and loved it! It led me to The Princess Weiyoung (which I watched twice on Netflix and once on TH-cam) and Blooming Days on TH-cam

Don't get me started about the sets and costumes.. They may be exaggerated at times, but you'll never see better.
