What a beauty! We had a 53 Desoto which I took to school back in the sixties. Like this car,it's ground clearance was huge,and we never got stuck in snow.
Definitely one of the better old car videos out there. You take us for a nice drive without running your mouth. We get to hear the car in it's natural state. You show us exterior shots of the car. Your video should be a model for other old car videos. And yes, you have a very nice car there! My wife and I watched this video and we want a 1928 Chevrolet and your video made us want one all the more!
My grandpa had a 1920-something Chevy back in the late 20s/early 30s. I always wondered what they sounded like (We have a picture of Grandpa & Grandma looking proud in front of their car. Grandpa worked for GM in 1930 in St Louis, Mo. (even though he was from Kentucky originally). The hood ornament had a distinct Chevy Logo ornament on it.
Finally a person that knows not to wrap their thumb around the crank handle. I see people do it all the time, bad idea. My great grandfather taught me that, not that it ever came in handy lol.
BEAUTIFUL Car! I LOVE My Little 1925 Chevrolet Coupe! EASY to Drive! I never use My Crank to start it though! And EVERYBODY thinks that is the only way to start a 1920`s even 1930`s Car! My 1924 &1925 Dodge Brothers Cars Have Silent Starter Generators! OH! These LOOK AWESOME Coming down a Road!
I have a '33 in the SF bay area, it's interesting how many advances they put into the car in just the five years between '28 and '33. Self advance timing, real temp gauge on the dash, synchromesh transmission, and I'm not sure if you had four wheel brakes in '28, I think not. I do like the disk wheels on the older models like this. I have some photos from the period with a Chevy like yours with the disk wheels. Mine are spokes but then I've got four wheel mechanical brakes which were quite a deal back then! The problem with the Chevrolets was the wooden body framing which is so subject to decay. Many of them today have either rotted out or been replaced. I'm lucky with mine as it has all original body wood. But certainly a weak point for longevity. And the engines have a few differences but they sound the same! Fun!

The Crank was used If Your Battery was too low, Or to Top Dead Center the car for Timing! Electric starters came out with a vengeance in 1912! People ask Me how did I make My cars start without a crank! Even when I Drive My latest Car, A 1931 PLYMOUTH! I Can Start My 1925 Chevrolet By letting it roll Backwards withe the Clutch in, And Shifted in Reverse! Or Forwards! One little Bump out of the Clutch and it Fires right Up! as Does My 1924 Oldsmobile, My 1925 Dodge Brothers, My 1926 Dodge Brothers! Plymouth as well! I Have not Started My 1915 REO! My 1923 Model T usually starts on it`s own! And Goes where ever it wants!

Muy bueno el cachilo, inmaculado. El conductor no combina con el vehículo. No tiene práctica al hacer cambios en caja sin sincronizado. No usa el oído para hacer los cambios en el momento justo ni el doble embrague. Hace raspar los engranajes. Nunca se busca poner la marcha atrás para poner la primera, a la inversa sí, primero dejar el eje primario detenerse, pasar a primera y sin soltar el pedal del embrague, pasar a la marcha atrás. You might consider double clutching the old girl, she'll shift a whole lot smoother.

What happened to the self starter? Or is that the driver? Surely Chevy had self starters in '28 to be competitive with the Model A Ford.

these cars do have electric starters they are located on the floor, the hand crank was there just incase if the electric start failed.

Amazing. Chevrolet had steel wheels while the same year Model A was still using wooden spokes.
T used wooden until 1927 but they were optional model a used metal rims
