This is such a good idea! I like the idea of using soft and stable too. Although batting would be fine as well. Thank you for sharing this and the great step by step instructions!❣
Great tutorial - love this quick and easy way of making placemats. Just one question, Sherri - you mentioned you cut the soft & stable at (14x18), but later trimmed it to (12.5x18.5). Did you mean to cut it wider at maybe 19" or 20" - thank you - just verifying. I have so much leftover batting - looking forward to sewing some of these soon.

Great tutorial - I think that I might have a go at making these, as I could do with practising my sewing. Cheeky question - I really like your top where did you buy it?

I wondered the same.... maybe the finished size was 16.5 inches as the strips are 2.5 inches wide and 8 finished strips should be 16.5 inches.
@@dianabrown8518 Thank you - yes, I realized that when I counted the strips at the end :).
Darn it, I already cut my backing and now see that it should have been wider. :(
Very nice
V nice. V nice. V nice
Love your choice of fabrics! Where can we find them?

How did you do the that binding bit? Thanks in advance for a reply.
How hard is it to join the binding or do you do a tuck method on these placemats?
Wished you had finished the placemat showing how you put on binding.
What is the total amount of yardage needed for the backing fabric for 4 placemats?
Great tutorial - I think that I might have a go at making these, as I could do with practising my sewing.
Cheeky question - I really like your top where did you buy it?
Are all the strips exactly the same in each placemat?
How can I print out these instructions?
Are there written directions?
