I'm just starting out in an ice machine company and am trying to educate myself as thoroughly as possible. We mostly run Manitowoc, but a few different models, so I'm trying to get all my info straight. Thanks for all of the information. It was easy to follow.

That is awesome refrigeration is a great trade. There’s such a need for good tech. Bryan Orr with hvacrschool.com Has a lot of amazing videos and content, podcasts and more. I discovered his stuff along time ago and I’m hooked. I think you’ll enjoy it too.

@amponetech2766 thanks for the recommendation. I've actually watched quite a few of his videos, and you're right. They are very helpful, particularly the ones on electrical.

I'm trying to fix one, not sure why it isn't working, trying to understand how they work, thanks for the video.
It flows water over the grid, but it stops flowing the water after a short time, and no ice was made.
No error codes or flashes. Sounds like it should just keep flowing water until the ice thickness sensor indicates its done,
so why it stops after a short while (like 3 minutes).

Check your water inlet valve and water level. Prob also, if there is a water filter, it may be time to replace it. I just ran into this same problem a few days ago hope this helps.

@@amponeheatingcooling8648 Thank you for your assistance. I discovered the ice maker runs water over the grid when it first starts up to clean it before it runs the compressor and makes the ice. The real problem was a chip that drives the relays was bad and it couldn't start/stop the compressor. Once that was fixed,, I saw how it worked and it was fixed. hope that helps someone else reading this in the future.
