Two store I remember when I was a kid, I'm 72 now. One was a window display in Glenside PA of maybe 35 flintlock pistols and the side read "$35.00 each" the other was a store in Germantown PA and in the middle of the store was a large wooden crate, it was filled with Civil War kepis/caps from both sides and that sign read "Your choice $5.00"
My dad used to buy loads from car boot sales and it was all left toe when he passed away! I didn't know what it all was at the time, I still used likes the tyre pumps for my bike's and my dad used the old field bags for his fishing gear etc! The watches, tools welding googles everything I see now in my researching is so strange with seeing and using the same stuff as a kid ! It feels weird I can't describe it really I only wish I knew what the stuff was back then as I know now it maybe wouldn't have got destroyed or sold or swapped etc
I didn’t go to this store because I apparently had to make an appointment and give someone a list in advance just so I can see it and I was sad about it because I love ww2 memorabilia and it’s only open when the owner feels like it
I love military history since I was 4 or 5 I would go to civil war reenactments in shiloh and I loved it , my grandmas 4 brothers were in ww2 as medics and I had a cousin in vietnam , I was in army in persian gulf ,
I enjoyed your video! Like yourself, I believe history must be preserved. This is why I started a few years ago acquiring historical period artifacts. At present it is a private collection, but one day, I dream of having a educational and preservation center to display these items. I often look at some of the items I collected and wonder what stories they would tell. That’s why I particularly like collecting old correspondences from the various periods in history because they can talk. Keep on collecting and preserving! 😊

I have a very rare photo I’m looking to sell it’s a plane that crashed on the beach of ww2 I don’t want it hidden any longer I think it needs to be displayed for everyone to see if your interested contact me.

Military items have particulate value because they capture the human struggle at its best and worst.. very very fascinating
