I have been fortunate enough to see them live 40+ times and have had the opportunity to meet them on a few occasions. I can't begin to describe how much this band and those guys mean to me. They were my "gateway" into heavy music. They are really the only band that I've completely stuck with since '98 or so. I love all different types of heavy music, and just music in general. But, the way they don't act like your typical rock stars and just keep their humility at the forefront, is so admirable and it keeps them as my clear number one band of all time. I got to hang backstage with them in Omaha when their bus broke down just outside of town and they welcomed my wife and I backstage as if we were legitimate members of their family. LJ offered us some beer and I believe it was Vinnie's birthday. Regardless, every member; LJ, Clint, Vinnie, John and Morgan were all so happy to talk with us. I even helped Morgan round out his fantasy football team. There's just really no other band like them. They have absolutely killed it live for 25+ years, they remain humble, they are great family guys, and their music hasn't gotten boring or formulaic. Thank you for posting this, Tank! LJ and the rest of the guys in 7D should be incredibly proud of what they've done for the music world.
You're absolutely right when you say there really is no other band like them. Absolutely fantastic people all around, and awesome story. Thanks for sharing!
My wife made some baby clothes for Lajons newborn about 7 years ago. She handed it to him outside of Janus Landing in St. Pete FL. We have been to every single show since than and Lajon still remembers our names and talks to us like old friends. This band truly loves the fans.
The Legend himself. And man, what a sweet down to earth guy as well. He seems very genuine. Thank you as well Tank for allowing the people you interview to be themselves, it really shows in the interviews.
this is hands down one of the best interviews I've ever watched. I didn't want this thing to end. I'm a huge fan of 7Dust and my first "rock star moment" in radio happened as an intern w/ Lajon at a radio festival. He walked up to me and said "i have a joint with my name on it given to me by a fan and YOU'RE going to smoke it with me. Put my entire career at that point on the line to toke it up. So to see you bring out that natural, awesome energy of Lajon and remind me of that night it brought a bunch of excitement out in my day. YOU ROCK!
This was such a great chat!! Love the family man vibes from you both. It was nice hearing Lajon talk about growing up Nashville. Very cool stuff! We hope to see that killer Static-X/7D tour when they come through! Badass episode. Great job, Tank! 🔥🐻🔥
What a fantastic conversation. It's like two buds catching up and reminiscing about their hometowns and past experiences. Loved it! Lajon and 7D are legends.
I would absolutely watch an hour long "Lajon and Tank walks/drives around Nashville pointing at things and telling stories" video. (Also, please bring that Sevendust+StaticX tour to Europe 😭)
They really do make every show and backstage feel like a family. I have had to pleasure of seeing them over 100 times since 1999 and have been able to hang out with them so many times. Not because I am anybody. That's the thing, they make everyone feel important to them. I also have that Elvis VIP pass from 2010 Hard Drive Live Tour. Lou Brutus hooked me up with a couple of shows, poker with Sevendust and 10 Years, VIP parties, back stage passes, etc. What a great memory!
Saw Sevendust on their first tour in 97-98 at the Al Rosa Villa in Columbus, OH. I saw the acoustic tour at House of Blues in Chicago. Been lucky enough to see them around a dozen times. Great conversation Tank!
LOVE Sevendust! Lajon and the rest of the guys are the best! I will be seeing them again next week. I have been lucky enough to meet the guys several times. Great guys!
Have seen them several times and also got to open for Clint’s old band Dark New Day. I got to talk with LJ and Clint a bit at different shows. Both are super nice guys. Very down to earth, very happy to be doing what they are doing. Super appreciate of their fans. They really should be role models for how bands should interact with their fans.
Loved this. Lived in NC for a decade, discovered these guys on their debut, and caught 19 shows in the Carolinas and Georgia, between 97 and 04. Such great live energy, so real, lyrically. And yeah, COVID is no joke, even if you don't get symptoms yourself. 3 times in 3 yrs, with Long COVID issues each time. Not worth rolling the dice.
Oh wow this was so unexpected! I've seen Sevendust live more than any other band, even celebrated a wedding anniversary at a show! Thank you for this, so cool!
How badass great interview already love your channel but sevendust has been one of my favorite bands most of my life so this was a gift and yes Lajon is so cool and down to earth very relatable guy
I first heard of Sevendust on that old TV show Farmclub where they showed or premiered the video for “Denial” or maybe the band played it live. I forget. But I remember the host saying that the band had been touring for like 2 years straight nonstop and that blew me away.
I've had the opportunity to hang out with 7D at a couple shows being best friends with another band who toured with them years ago. By far, the most down to earth, humble, real and sincere guys in the business. That aside, these guys are true road dogs, grinders and in your face touring monsters who have NEVER half assed a show. Their shows are so intense and completely exhaust you if you're participating in the show. They deserve all the good things in life. Keep rocking and hopefully (Tank), we can drive up from Memphis to the show in Murfreesboro! 🤘🤘🤘
I guess I'm counterculture. I don't stream, but I like to buy the entire album of bands and have the ability to take it with me. Thanks for having Lajon on the show. ❤
Love that band! However... I used to live and work in Donelson, TN and, I can say with absolute certainty, it is a VERY diverse area. Anyhoodle, i hope everyone's tours go fantastically well, and hopefully I'll get to see some shows again!
Loved 7d since I first saw them in 97 opening for Limp Bizkit at the Roxy in Atlanta. Seen them close to 30 times now and they never disappoint. The new album is great too.
Really great podcast. I didn't realize they just released new stuff, such an awesome band! It's pretty wild how much being a father changes us and gives us a new perspective too.
Legendary Sevendust indeed. My current favorite band has been back and forth between Deftones and Sevendust for like 20 years. Sevendust is QUALITY. Can't say enough good things about those guys. Edit: Great interview. I've never "liked" so many comments in a video.
I don't know if you knew during filming of the episode, but most the tour dates are with Dope also, which makes sense since Edsel is Zer0 in Static-X, wish I could see a tour with that lineup, you guys are so god damn lucky over there! I only found Sevendust because of your reaction to Fence, which is my gateway to Sevendust, but damn, what an awesome episode, and what an awesome dude, he seems like the most chill guy ever, these kinda episodes are my favourites, where it gets of track, because it just seems more natural, amazing job as usual Tank! 🖤🤘
Man it really sucks that sevendust never blew up like other bands of thier time..The music was there the vocals were definitely there but they just never had that cross over hit that made them...Nonetheless theyre a very influential band and have a great catalog of music 🧐✌️🤘
Saw them at "Rock am Ring" somewhere around the 201X performing Praise and got hooked on this track. Bought the album (Animosity) and heard in my car up and down. Sadly after that i lost track.
Pick it back up from Animosity. Give them a chance. There was a time for me when Black Out The Sun came out and I wasn't into it. Luckily I had a friend who told me to listen to it a few more times and I can't thank him enough. I LOVE all their newer stuff now. Their older stuff will always be special to me but the new shit is fantastic.
I fucking need to see Sevendust again... saw them once, in 1999 at this little shithole of a club in Toledo, Ohio called the Main Event... like 500 people... I think I payed like 15 bucks... one of the best concerts of my life
I just came in the hopes that he reads this. My first concert was Metallica and kid Rock with sevendust in Chicago. This would have been like 1997 or 98. I was just a 12 year old dude. I remember hearing sevendust and it's blowing my mind but I remember the crowd was very shity. All kinds of get to Metallica shit. I'm super pumped to see how far they've come. Fun fact I also saw my first in person boobs there and to date the largest Ziploc bag full of joints I've ever
Tank were you at WJJO Band Camp in 2006 or 2007? I was taking pictures and was working with Kicking K8. I looked at my pictures but didn't see you in them. I have great pictures of Nonpoint and Sevendust.
niceeee. i recently relearned "crucified" for a video and rebought the home and animosity albums. they were so much better than the bands they were typically associated with. their drummer is so freakin good too. maybe get 311 on next? that would be dope.
Im a writer with a 2 yr degree from Journalism School and then I wrote 8 hrs daily 7 days a week for 17 yrs before i got signed to a regional publishing house..We were 2 weeks from publishing my first novel then C-19 hit and goodbye career...C-19 has destroyed so many lives and the bill of goods we were sold were bunk..Thats not a political statement its a case of all the Cdc Epa Cia and Fbi papers that have been released that confirm all the lies we were told...Btw I had C-19 so im not saying its fake im saying the info we were given was a bold faced lie 🤘✌️🧐
Shit yeah! Sevendust is my favorite live band! Morgan is my favorite drummer ever! Also my biggest inspiration to playing drums, denial was the first song I learned on drums, I've seen this band like 10 times since moving to Vegas in 2001. So fucking cool.
I have been fortunate enough to see them live 40+ times and have had the opportunity to meet them on a few occasions. I can't begin to describe how much this band and those guys mean to me. Every word of this!
My wife made some baby clothes for Lajons newborn about 7 years ago. She handed it to him outside of Janus Landing in St. Pete FL. We have been to every single show since than and Lajon still remembers our names and talks to us like old friends. This band truly loves the fans.
The "dad chat" part was the most wholesome thing ever
Lajon is the man! Sevendust got me into heavy music and is still one of my all time favorites! Good shit!
I’ve never clicked so fast. The first sevendust album was the first CD I ever bought. Saw it on a late night commercial as a kid
The Legend himself. And man, what a sweet down to earth guy as well. He seems very genuine. Thank you as well Tank for allowing the people you interview to be themselves, it really shows in the interviews.

Love sevendust and love LJ, such a talented band
Lajon is so effortlessly funny and likable.
What a fantastic conversation. It's like two buds catching up and reminiscing about their hometowns and past experiences. Loved it! Lajon and 7D are legends.
Love that band, great episode. Those guys are criminally underrated.
Such a humble and down to earth guy, and an awesome vocalist . Lajon, you're a legend
Lj cracks me up
I would absolutely watch an hour long "Lajon and Tank walks/drives around Nashville pointing at things and telling stories" video.

I saw sevendust with kid rock in Columbus probably early 2000's. Lajons vocals are amazing.
Saw Sevendust on their first tour in 97-98 at the Al Rosa Villa in Columbus, OH. I saw the acoustic tour at House of Blues in Chicago. Been lucky enough to see them around a dozen times. Great conversation Tank!
One of the most down to earth people ever. Great family members with those guys. Love em.
This one was really fun. Great job.

My favorite band ! thanks for this .... glad you guys linked up !

This felt literally like listening to a conversation between friends. I very much enjoyed it, as always
No greater band than Sevendust 🤘😁🤘 #tribalsmoke
Oh wow this was so unexpected! I've seen Sevendust live more than any other band, even celebrated a wedding anniversary at a show! Thank you for this, so cool!

Got to talk to Lajon and the Sevendust guys while working as a local audio tech for their show. Nicest group of guys ever. Good vibe from all of them.

Whaaaaaat?? Watching this one for sure, Sevendust has been a constant in my life since my oldest brother showed me Waffle back in the day.
Loved 7d since I first saw them in 97 opening for Limp Bizkit at the Roxy in Atlanta. Seen them close to 30 times now and they never disappoint. The new album is great too.
Lajon is for real one of the nicest dudes ever. He has been nothing short of amazing everytime we catch up. Great interview Tank!

It's pretty wild how much being a father changes us and gives us a new perspective too.
I meet lajon recently the guys is a legend 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Just the most humble guy I've ever met. Can't wait to see them in October in TN :) Maybe I'll see Tank LOL
If you're talking about the Murfreesboro show, I''ll be there!
@@TankTheTech Yeah, it's the closest one to us by far! LOL, I'll keep any eye out :)

I would compare them to seether, althought I definitely hear seether on the radio more than sevendust
New song "Everything" is a banger, sounds like it should be on a blockbuster movie soundtrack 🎸🔥
Saw them at "Rock am Ring" somewhere around the 201X performing Praise and got hooked on this track. Bought the album (Animosity) and heard in my car up and down. Sadly after that i lost track.

Well said sir. It was a very effective psy-op that they will encourage them to do something worse.
