  • In this video we take a look at some survival fishing kits I've been working on. These types of kits will obviously need to be tailored for the waters and fish that are prevalent in your area. For my kits I decided on the following items:
AGOOL Fishing Barrel Swivels Size: 10# (17)
AGOOL Fishing Barrel Swivels Size: 8# (33)
    Dr.Fish 100 Pack Baitholder Fishing Hooks Size: #1/0 (20)
Eagle Claw 181F-4 Baitholder Down Eye Bait Hooks Size: #4 (15)
Eagle Claw Sinker Assortment Egg Sinker & Split-Shot (don't use these, get reusable split-shot)
Octopus Hook Fishing Beak Circle Hooks Size: #8 (33)
Octopus Hook Fishing Beak Circle Hooks Size: #10 (33)
    Sxetjx Small Fishing Tackle Box
What do you carry in your survival fishing kit? What do you think I should change about my own kit? Please leave a comment and let me know! If you enjoy this type of content, I'd greatly appreciate if you subscribe to my channel. Thanks for watcing!

I'd love to see something like this incorporated into a car survival kit. Something that could fit under the seat and has fishing, water purification, fire starting etc. Something that can just live in the car so if the car broke in the middle of nowhere it's enough to last a few days waiting for someone else to drive past

I'm actually working on something like this. There will be a portion of the kit that stays with the vehicle all the time, and I'm also going to have a crate we can take in any vehicle with some additional gear when we are going on trips or through remote areas. I'm still just coming up with ideas for that setup and just starting getting the gear together so it will be a little while before it's done, but it's on my to do list. Thanks for your comment!

Nice kit. Mine is similar. For the line I used a sewing machine bobbin. You can get 80-100 feet of line wrapped around one and it's small enough to fit in one of the compartments

That really sounds perfect! The gentleman from P2SNetwork actually commented yesterday and mentioned about using bobbins and I ordered a bag of them. It looks like exactly what I need. I appreciate it! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I made one a while ago but you gave me some good ideas for my next one. Very good kit. I would add some Non-swivel snaps
I sometimes use tiny water balloons and blow one up the size of a golf ball to use as a bobber.

That's brilliant about the small balloons! I'm definitely going to do that. I was looking for bobbers to fit this kit but there was just nothing small enough. I can probably put balloons in with the bullet weights in the wasted space. It might even keep them from banging around in there. I also agree about the non-swiveling snaps. I'll add some of those too. Thanks for the great suggestions!

Nice kit. Metal sewing machine bobbins. You can get a fair amount of line or braid on them.

Is there some reason why you whisper so much?
