Great video. I asked if the blade could be sharpened and was told “absolutely not”. Then I saw your video and I will now sharpen the blades . Love my Ryobi thicknesser. Take old red gum posts and make decorative furniture and Jewellery Boxes. Thanks!!!

Great video. I have the same thicknesser and your video is the best one I’ve seen for removal, sharpening and replacement of the blades. My blades are pretty blunt now and I was ready to just go buy another thicknesser till I found your video. Well done and thanks.

Great advice, nice instructional video, thank you David. I have two dulled blades with some significant wear in 2 areas, I hope sharpening them will remove these dulled areas and I wont have to buy new blades yet.

Brilliant! I could really do with one of those for my bench project but, to be absolutely honest, it probably would not be used much after that, so it is unlikely to be added to my collection. But what a great machine it is and with the extended life provided by your excellent instructional sharpening, anyone who does have and use this regularly will keep it tip top for many, many uses... 👍🏻

I have to agree with you in relation to usage. I rarely use it but when I have to it’s fantastic. It’s one of those investments as a nice to have but if you use a lot of recycled timber it’s a must have! Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks mate! The more effort you put into the sharpening the sharper it will be, all depends on how much patience you have. Mines been going strong for 5-6 years now and I have no issues.

Good video although could have been a lot shorter; At 6:31 into the video it is mentioned that the screws to unfasten the blade assembly are anti clockwise but in reality you need to turn the screw clockwise to unfasten the assembly. Turning the screw anti clockwise witll tighten the assembly. All in all a good video. Incidentally you can actually purchase a pair of double sided Ryobi blades from Bunnings in Australia for currently $63.

Would be great if you could also do one on how to make the cutter head and work table parallel (i.e. adjust the height of left and right heights).
