Damn, over a decade later, this song is still an absolute banger!! I bought this album when it first came out because the cover looked cool and I knew they were Metalcore. One of the best impulse buys of my life! This album is fantastic!
Dear Memphis May Fire. You are my nr1 band. Give your best at all the upcoming albums, I hope to hear more of your new albums, and wish all the best for the whole band, for many more years of success. One of your biggest fans.
my favorite song by them despite the fact he is singing about how he thinks he is failing and losing his passion for this. i see so much of myself in these lyrics my entire life I've only wanted to help others & when i discovered this music i found that these bands constantly saved me from myself & i decided i wanted to do that for others. like matty did, i would give up everything for a chance to be in that life & this song gives me hope that one day ill make it like he did, like they all did.
MMF's songs always hit me so hard. I walked by the stage they performed on while they were playing "The Sinner" at Warped, got so mad that I missed them. They were one of the main reasons I went.
I love the fact that they're telling their own story in this song, talking about how they're struggling with the drugs and stuff and that they don't wanna let their fans down and they want to be good role models.
I've never seen them live but if you have and you say so, i believe you. Never really been a fan of AA. I haven't seen MMF live ethier, but I saw a youtube vid of them live and they seem pretty crispy to me. Have you seen em live?
I love how they incorporated Danny honestly - I find a lot of vocal features are fucking terrible or sound out of place. But they did a really great job here. The transition was flawless and the feature was so well picked - awesome job. And fuck - Danny's part just makes the song, nothing against Matty, also a great vocalist - but I just loved Danny's part - the lyrics, the tone, just the part in general really made the song for me. Was this post Reckless Relentless release? Because the screams remind me of Death to Destiny's vocal style more than his older stuff. Don't know much about MMF but this is enough to make me interested in searching out their other stuff. :3
Yeah but a lot of them aren't really... thought out? I think that's what I'm looking for - It's usually just another popular vocalist who is carelessly thrown into the song without any thought - which throws off the groove of the song. xD
I'm trying to imagine my little 9 year old self singing and dancing to this 😂 I used to blast this through my earbuds when I'd walk to school... I'm 14 and I STILL do that. Whatever 😂
I haven't been listening to memphis may fire for a big time , but i already have an incredible amount of respect for this them. Their songs are so meaningful and deep , also i have been listening to this band while i was having a hard time and it gave me hope and made me fight. i think it's real music. Real music is super rare nowadays , so i thank you memphis may fire
THANK YOU. It seems that nowadays, the guitarists, drummers, and bassists are completely forgotten. I think a lot of people tend to forget that (in most cases) if it weren't for the musicians behind the vocalist, then the vocalist would be pretty much nothing.
Oh ok thanks for the info lol. Good to hear that MMF is great live. Yeah a lot of bands aren't as great live and make it out to be amazing studio wise. At least you made it constructive.
Def agree with all the studio musicians tht suck live. I mean every1 has an off day but a fan knows the difference pmis if u see a band more than once & ur like wtf? Chances are their shit. Asking Alexandria they kill it live since Danny's return from rehab & check out Parkway Drive. DAMN talk bout live performances heavy metalcore in their early days then last 2 Ire & especially Reverence their latest is more mainstream yet still amazing.
Their voice color are a little different, the Danny's voice have been changing since he had problems with his vocal chords. I think between Stand Up And Scream and Reckless And Relentless albums his voice sound like the Memphys May Fire's vocalist (sorry for my English, i'm from Colombia)
My favorite part of the song i have memorized "We hold their hearts in the palms of our hands. I don't want to take it for granted. I don't want to waste the gift that I've been handed. " in school i start writing this for bellwork :D
I love how when I find hidden wonders likes this after listening to Country for so long... and its hilarious to me that as I switch to Metalcore from Country I find out Danny becomes a country atists xD
Actually his words were "its something I think I can embrace again" Danny has stated he's a Rock 'n' Roll guy. He likes things ranging from country to blues. His forcoming Country album sounds incredible.
Trying to find reasons to not like them? It's tough to do, just keep making things up. Saw them live. Incredible. Not "I'm a 14 year old incredible." I mean "I've been playing guitar for 7 years, drums for about a year, and I've been singing for as long as I can remember." incredible. These guys are the real deal.
I saw this live the other night. Sadly, Danny wasn't there because it was just Memphis May Fire opening for Pierce The Veil, but holy shit was this amazing.
ARE ALL OF YOU SERIOUS??? if you listen to bands constantly or not just a fan person, you will know in a heartbeat when Danny came in the song, i didnt even know he was featured in it the first time i heard it.
Your not in over your head. I know how you feel. Just always know, God is with you, and through him you can accomplish great things. Love your guys' new song. "No ordinary love". More songs like this and you will see what god can do for your guys' life!!! Keep it up!!!
Matty if for some reason you read this your lyrics help me through my darkest times especially struggling with my walk with God. Your an inspiration and im glad there is someone I can relate to when I feel alone
"They come to me to show them how they're supposed to be. I don't want to let them down. Lord give me the answers they seek, The strength to give to the weak. Give me the desire to plant the seed. This is so much bigger than me. I think I'm in over my head" i think he sings that part not completely sure.
much agreed i truly feel this band and even this song they feel like they want to stop some type of struggle with the help of GOD -"Lord give me the answers they seek"
I always say imperfection is perfection, but this is pure perfection. Holy shit Memphis May Fire is pure perfection. With the back up of another few artist. c:
When Danny sings it's just a pure delight...
0:37
The way yells/screams "How could I hate this?! I used to crave this!" is so good... Yes i'm obsessing over this part
Danny Worsnop's voice is literally like listening an angel sing metalcore.
Sadly, he doesn't do this anymore :( Good for him for finding something new...but that voice...it will be missed.
same story with michael from volumes :(
He doesn't do it cause he can't do it anymore
His vocal cords are screwed up
Actually the reason he doesn't now is simply because he got bored of it, he found a new genre that he favors more than this one.
Np, it really sucks that he is gone (he's not gone but you know what I mean).
Danny's lows are something to strive for vocally. Holy shit
+Streb Nasty Go listen to some Oceano for some nice lows
+Streb Nasty oh and Oceans Ate Alaska
i know oceano i like some of their stuff
+Skyy | Editor oceans ate alaska sucks but aa has good lows but the best goes to dickie allen
+tyler eastburn I listen to them, lmfao
What a powerful track, lyrically speaking. Realizing the power and influence he has a musician, and struggling on how to wield that power.
Danny's Clean Vocals are just AWESOME!
"I think I'm in over my HEAAAAAAAAD" that growl though
Fuck, this part give me chills
I got body chills
2 of my favorite vocalists in the same song?!? Yes please!
Totally relating to this song right now...Why must life be so difficult?
idk why it is, but everything happens for a reason
Danny has a godly voice and makes this song with the few lyrics he sang.
danny worsnop. nuff said. great collaboration
why does the fire in my heart grow dimmer with each passing day? shit gives me goosebumps.
Danny's screaming is just like Matty's, and Matty's clean vocals is just like Trenton Woodley's from Hands Like Houses. Great combo if you ask me
their not anymore, this one is dated 3 years ago lol
Matt Wittlinger Saw Hands Like Houses a while ago, best live ever :D
so theres no confusion we are talking about growls
Love *Hands like Houses*
We hold their hearts in the palm of our hands :)
Feels like yesterday when I listened to this song for the first time in 2013. Seeing Danny featured in MMF actually got me more into this band.
same, bro!
Damn, over a decade later, this song is still an absolute banger!! I bought this album when it first came out because the cover looked cool and I knew they were Metalcore. One of the best impulse buys of my life! This album is fantastic!
Danny's voice is my entire undoing at 1:18
Dear Memphis May Fire.
You are my nr1 band. Give your best at all the upcoming albums, I hope to hear more of your new albums, and wish all the best for the whole band, for many more years of success.
One of your biggest fans.
I love how Danny asks the lord to give him the answers while he has the song Morte Et Dabo.
I've missed this song soo much. Oh my goodness.
This needs to hit 1 million soon. Let's make it happen! :D
it happened
KiramaruXVI Glad it did too, me from 6 months ago has no idea. :P
my favorite song by them despite the fact he is singing about how he thinks he is failing and losing his passion for this. i see so much of myself in these lyrics
my entire life I've only wanted to help others & when i discovered this music i found that these bands constantly saved me from myself & i decided i wanted to do that for others. like matty did, i would give up everything for a chance to be in that life
& this song gives me hope that one day ill make it like he did, like they all did.
Praise God
I love Danny's voice so much
Finally listening to this song and figuring out which parts Danny sings xD, now that was fun :D
I can't get enough of this song, lyrically and instrumental wise.
1:19 - 1:48 is my favourite bit of this entire album
MMF's songs always hit me so hard. I walked by the stage they performed on while they were playing "The Sinner" at Warped, got so mad that I missed them. They were one of the main reasons I went.
1:46 "5 pounds of brisket oughta do the trick"
confused at first but i got it!!!! literally the best reference ever!!!!
“BUM BUM BU BUBUBUM BUBU BUBUBUM BU BUM BUNH!”
My spine still shudders when I gear Danny growl. Yes, there needs to be a music video!
were the hell is the love button?!!
on facebook
I love the fact that they're telling their own story in this song, talking about how they're struggling with the drugs and stuff and that they don't wanna let their fans down and they want to be good role models.
I've never seen them live but if you have and you say so, i believe you. Never really been a fan of AA. I haven't seen MMF live ethier, but I saw a youtube vid of them live and they seem pretty crispy to me. Have you seen em live?
Saw these guys at Warped a few months back. He sounds this good live. Fortunately.
this is perfection❤️❤️
I just threw down a headbang like this song just came out yesterday. This shit still gets my goats years after it's been out.
Listen to this every night. I'm in love😍😍😍😍
I used to be so in love
Danny's voice just adds a bit of a magical touch to the song
I love how they incorporated Danny honestly - I find a lot of vocal features are fucking terrible or sound out of place. But they did a really great job here.
The transition was flawless and the feature was so well picked - awesome job.
And fuck - Danny's part just makes the song, nothing against Matty, also a great vocalist - but I just loved Danny's part - the lyrics, the tone,

Don't know much about MMF but this is enough to make me interested in searching out their other stuff. :3
Yes, it is post R&R, when he had his newer voice. ^^
Yeah vocal features can be really bad but I wouldn't say they're bad a lot of the time. I just depends on the band I think.
Yeah but a lot of them aren't really... thought out? I think that's what I'm looking for - It's usually just another popular vocalist who is carelessly thrown into the song without any thought - which throws off the groove of the song. xD
TraceofHatred I totally get what your saying.
Listen to The Road by AA. I think that song is the reason the band brought Danny in.
I've only listened to 5 songs so far and I have so much respect for these guys.
Me estoy enterando que esta canción existe 10 años despues y es una joya!!!!
Yes it is, I'm sure we're all glad you enjoy them as much as we have. Still listening 2023, been a fan since 2014
Danny does a great job in every song he's in.
I'm trying to imagine my little 9 year old self singing and dancing to this 😂 I used to blast this through my earbuds when I'd walk to school... I'm 14 and I STILL do that. Whatever 😂
I feel you man, being a guitarist myself I have to give props to who writes and plays the riffs in MMF some of them are just mind bending beautiful
omg memories ^_^
I haven't been listening to memphis may fire for a big time , but i already have an incredible amount of respect for this them. Their songs are so meaningful and deep , also i have been listening to this band while i was having a hard time and it gave me hope and made me fight. i think it's real music. For those who don't know, Danny's part starts at 1:18
I swear the lyrics on this album are just simply amazing......
1:45 those fucking lows
I think that's danny
+Sheppard Vars you would be correct.
+ourguitarshit Oceano has good lows. and Oceans Ate Alaska
Thank you Christ for saving me and forgiving me of my lusts, perversion and hatred. This song speaks volumes for me as a person who became a Christian.
Dannys growl tho.
he doesn't growl in this song...
1:32 onward is matty
Basu117 no matty is from 1:48 on
Greg Pherreigo okay, you're probably right

Asking Alexandria has changed their sound so much, but Danny's singing now just sounds so organic. It's amazing
If u can't tell where Danny's part is.. Then u don't know Danny's voice
1:15 dannys voice
They shoulda just let him do the whole song coz his small bit is the best part
Well no shit.
Their voice color are a little different, the Danny's voice have been changing since he had problems with his vocal chords. I think between Stand Up And Scream and Reckless And Relentless albums his voice sound like the Memphys May Fire's vocalist (sorry for my English, i'm from Colombia)

I love how when I find hidden wonders likes this after listening to Country for so long... and its hilarious to me that as I switch to Metalcore from Country I find out Danny becomes a country atists xD
Danny is not a country artist I saw him with AA last weekend and it was beautiful
Evan Derrick He switched up and made a country album, recently he came back to AA after realizing country is shit xD
Actually his words were "its something I think I can embrace again"
Danny has stated he's a Rock 'n' Roll guy. He likes things ranging from country to blues. His forcoming Country album sounds incredible.
Matty is something like a mix of danny worsnop's growls and screams, kellin quinn's singing, and alot of awesomeness.
I Miss this quality
Say no more, "Blood & Water" is G O L D... by Memphis May Fire, obviously
I love the way Danny sings "Be"
2019?
Danny's voice gives me chills every time \m/.
this is a cristhian band?
Yes
wow that's is so strange hahaha, i dony like to hear cristhian music but this band is amazing!(i dont speak english)
they're not a Christian band matty just kinda makes it seem like it
omg danny and memphis may fire together is is just perfect
My Music Scares People xD- Core
UndeadCock if this song scares people dont let them near impending doom
Trying to find reasons to not like them? It's tough to do, just keep making things up. Saw them live. Incredible. Not "I'm a 14 year old incredible." I mean "I've been playing guitar for 7 years, drums for about a year, and I've been singing for as long as I can remember." incredible. These guys are the real deal.
i know danny's but i cant recognise when he's singing on this song wtf xd
I still love these guys because of how progressive the structure. Semi-complex rythm in the guitars.
If Danny did this cover today... This song would be a washed-up country song. xD
check out we are harlot, his other side project. its not bad for real rock and roll lol
Kyc, prro. >:v
to bad Danny left heavy metal behind cx Matty Mulins will take Danny on any day and wipe the floor with him 100 times over
are you mental? yes Matty is a very good vocalist but what Danny has is something every vocalist should strive for.
What so pussy ass "brutal" techniques, I master his techniques of screaming within my first week
This is pretty much my favorite Memphis May Fire song.
Danny is alright but not as good as Matty
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
You must be funny at parties
I have to agree with you, I prefer Matty's vocals. Old AA was amazing though.
agree 100%
I saw this live the other night. Sadly, Danny wasn't there because it was just Memphis May Fire opening for Pierce The Veil, but holy shit was this amazing.
this song literally brings me to tears.
KELLIN + DANNY + MEMPHIS MAY FIRE = HEAVEN IN AN ALBUM.
ARE ALL OF YOU SERIOUS???
if you listen to bands constantly or not just a fan person, you will know in a heartbeat when Danny came in the song, i didnt even know he was featured in it the first time i heard it.
'the strength to give to the weak, give me the desire to plant the seed...' and so on to 'over my head'
he is living the rock star dream, and he sounds amazing and getting better
Your not in over your head. I know how you feel. Just always know, God is with you, and through him you can accomplish great things. Love your guys' new song. "No ordinary love". More songs like this and you will see what god can do for your guys' life!!! Keep it up!!!
Been here since the day they got signed to Rise and this is definitely my favorite song they have ever made. Theyre all good this one just hits home
Matty if for some reason you read this your lyrics help me through my darkest times especially struggling with my walk with God. Your an inspiration and im glad there is someone I can relate to when I feel alone
wow Danny sounds amazing in here
My new favourite band, I'm kinda obsessed at the moment!
This song is legitimately PERFECT !! 3
"I'm just a person a human being... I FEEL DEAD INSIDE" Idk why this amuses me so much
Lord give the answers they seek, the strenght to give to the weak...
WOW, this song game me chills! My new favorite band!
"They come to me to show them how they're supposed to be. I don't want to let them down. Lord give me the answers they seek, The strength to give to the weak. Give me the desire to plant the seed. This is so much bigger than me. I think I'm in over my head" i think he sings that part not completely sure.
Danny does such a great job here.
the best band ever in this world
They do sound really good together, I'm not an AA fan but this is pretty awesome.
seeing them in jacksonville on the 15th! gonna be insane!
Am I the only one who has been listening to this non stop since it came out?
Memphis May Fire by far have the best breakdowns out of any band I have heard. Wow. I mean, that bass at 1:48 is so sick.
Danny sounds amazing in this song
Danny is such a badass. Great album by Memphis May Fire. They also have Kellin featuring in it :D Amazing
A really high voice with the ability to pull of deep growls? Me too.
Don't be jealous of gifts given to other people, be grateful for the gifts YOU have been given, and appreciate the ones that others have been given :)
much agreed i truly feel this band and even this song they feel like they want to stop some type of struggle with the help of GOD -"Lord give me the answers they seek"
This is the first song I've heard of these guys and I gotta say, I think it's fucking amazing.
I always say imperfection is perfection, but this is pure perfection.
Holy shit Memphis May Fire is pure perfection.
With the back up of another few artist. c:
I'm seeing them tomorrow !! :333 the feels
