Finally! A toe up heel I can do! I've been a cuff down sock knitter for 20 years, and this heel makes SO much sense to me! Thank you for sharing this video! ✌❤🇨🇦
Outstanding. Your calmness, clarity, and detailed demonstration are so helpful in understanding the logic. It's also interesting to consider that within a half hour or so, it is possible to turn a heel on one's own sock - in other words, it's not that big a deal!
Love this simpler heel do you have a tutorial for a 3 year old fleegle heeled sock. I'm new at sock knitting and would really appreciate it since I have 5 grandkids
👋🏾 Greetings, Ms. Storta! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can't thank you enough for filming this Fleegle heel tutorial "start to finish" -- especially on DPNs. I thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute of it. I really like the appearance of the lifted increases on either cuff down or toe up socks. I've been practicing different techniques and I find lifted increases easy to work and they create an attractive fabric on toe up socks as well. I use a provisional cast on with DPNs for toe up socks. Now, I can incorporate this short row method to accommodate my wider feet. On my way to start the homework and try working this heel right now 🧶🤞🏾...
@@HeatherStorta Will do, Ms. Storta... I'm so nervcited (nervous + excited) to see how it's going to turn out... The DPNs serve as good markers to help me keep track of the rounds. Thank you for using your platform and expertise for aspiring knitters like myself to perfect our craft...
Thank you @HeatherStorta, Excellent demonstration. I would also love to find top down Fleegle heel/or equivalent instructions. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
You can do the Fleegle heel, in just the same way, top down too! Since the heel created is a 45 degree angle, it fits exactly the same top-down or toe-up. It looks just slightly different, with the heel turn portion at the bottom of the foot instead of the back of the heel, but otherwise fits the same.
Thank you wonderful tutorial. Do we know where this heel style originated? I love toe up socks and a regular short row heel does not fit me well. Super excited. I originally found your channel after watching your sock heel comparison video. That was very informative . Thank you!

A good method and Hiedi I like to use it, but listening to the piano music was fairy annoying. I would prefer a slow motion and I think I’d be able to pick it up a lot quicker. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment! I went back and forth on adding the music, so that's helpful to know that it isn't needed. You can always slow down or speed up TH-cam videos in the settings tab (but the music will slow down along with it, so that might not be ideal.)
I’ve heard of the fleegle heel but had not tried it until this video. I had a ball of scrap yarn, needles and a cat sitting by so I just knitted along with you. It was fun! I do like the additional room it offers. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us!

I'm so glad you liked it!
I made this heel this afternoon on a 9 inch circular sock needle.
It became good.
Mesmerizing watching you knit the whole heel on DPN’s…. Very nice demonstration!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much it was a very good explanation for me. I will try very soon.

Not specifically, but you could apply this heel to a smaller sock pattern! Look for a toe-up sock pattern and switch the heel out for this heel.

I'm sorry I don't have Turkish subtitles - I'll see what I can do about that. Very happy to have you here, though! Happy sock knitting!
Thank you for this demonstration. I have been wanting to give this heel a try, mostly for self striping yarn.
You're very welcome!

Dank je wel , beginnende sokkenbreier
Muy buena explicación gracias
You're welcome!
Can you do some sort of a padded heel turn with this technique?
Hmm, I would imagine so! You could do either eye of partridge or a heel stitch I think. It's worth a try, at least!

Muito Bom ❤️
Heather, do you have a source for cuff down fleegle heel? I’ve done some research, but I’m not having much luck. Thanks!
Hmm, no - not off the top of my head! I may have to do some digging to see what I can find!
@@HeatherStorta it’s ok. I found something that can help. Everything says it can be too down but it’s hard to get instructions for it 😀
Thank you!!!! What Christen says.(below)
