Yes ~ the diversity is remarkable! What a full-blooded woman she must have been. Her interpretations are more than just singing. She seems to have put all of her soul into it. I utter a post hum BRAVO!

She was not a contralto, she was a well developed dramatic soprano, which is very different.
Funnily enough, like Dusolinna Giannini, did take the role of Carmen earlier in her career.
She's not a contralto, but she does sing in the contralto range.
@@jimmyj6209 She also sang Azucena (normally a mezzo/contralto) role. Then again, even Maria Callas sang a couple of contralto arias.
