- Time to do some maintenance on the Volkswagen New Beetle 1.6l petrol 1998-2011. This is Beetle has the same engine as in the Audi, Skoda, and other VW's like VW Golf.
We changed the following: Oil filter, Oil, Air filter, Spark Plugs, Brakes, Cabin Air Filter, Auxiliary Belt, and the Interior blower
As many of you know we still have a full time job next to Absolute Rebuilds. Next to that we want to keep our videos interesting with these huge builds, so we changed our upload frequency to every Thursday!

Lord… clean that motor.. I have a 2001 new beetle 2.0L.. 360,000 miles on the clock.. my daily driver.. a clean engine bay is a happy car.. make for cleaner maintenance, and lets you know where and when it leaks or has issues.. btw.. I love your lift.. that’s awesome.. and if you change out your rotors change your pads.. please.. and clean your parts as you go.. trust me your beetle will thank you later!!! And please give that girl a bath she deserves it!!! It hurts to watch you install the old good parts dirty.. don’t do that!
Perfect! I just bought a 2005 for an absolute steal! I need to do all these maintenance items to turn it around and make a quick sale.
How much did you get it for
@@lam_nguyenn_ got it for $500. Turned out to be a really bad deal. Engine was seized. I learned a lesson on that one.
@@gunsnsails wow did you fix it or resell it? I just bought a 2001 turbo beetle for $600 , both engine and manual trans are good. Just need to replace the camshaft sensor and a few other minor things
@@lam_nguyenn_ if I had the room for it I would have parted it out and made some money. It was just in the way so I sold it to a scrap metal guy. Good luck with yours man!

Goede video! Voor volgende keer zou het leuk zijn om iets meer te vertellen over het gereedschap dat je gebruikt. En de locatie van de oliefilter en aftapplug is altijd wel nuttige informatie. En vergeet niet om de brandstoffilter te vervangen. Verder lekker bezig!

Brakes hardly needed replacing?
Yeah! Unfortunately I used Chinese brand, so after riding in the rain they got all curved up! You can bring them to a machine shop, but was cheaper to replace with Brembo 💪

What best oil for beetle?
For this engine 5w-30 if it is high mileage 10w-30 is thicker for longer life
do you happen to know how to fix convertible flaps that don’t go down
What do you mean with the flaps? The top? It could be a relay or the pump..
Is that an automatic? How do you get another belly pan for vw new beetle convertible (1.9 tdi 74w 2004) ?
It's a manual transmission! Is it the belly pan of the engine or for the automatic transmission?

Are you a freaking magician?? I've managed to get spark plug 1 done. I can't even remove the HT lead of spark plug 2 to access the plug. I have the tools to get the plugs out if I could remove the leads. But that seems like an absolute joke with them being buried under those plastic inlets. VW are the absolute worst.
