    that oliver decoracion store is so beautiful in itself, it looks magical, I think its already an attraction, even without seeing the baths.

    The Hidden gem that most surprised me was the Roman temple remains. They were so tall! Here in the US, we do not have very few ancient buildings, so even the sight of the columns in the video was really unusual for me. I will try to get our group to pass that spot when we visit in December. The Picasso Hidden gem was really well described too!

    Wow, that was fascinating to see the baths in the very back of the shop! I also loved that via the elevator down to the metro station showing the section of the medieval wall! Have to add these hidden gems to our next visit! Definitely would love to know more hidden gems! Great job as usual Patrick!

    I studied art at LLOTJA school in carrer Avinyo (over 20 years ago) and I must tell that churros from carrer dels banys nous were spectacular tasteful then. I hope they keep doing them the same way so any visitors can enjoy them too!!

      @PatrickGuideBarcelona 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats awesome! When did you study there? Lots of people love the churros

    • @Decadenttia
      @Decadenttia 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PatrickGuideBarcelona We're talking about 20 years ago. The school was located in the historical building EL BOLSIN, which was basically a gentleman club for wealthy bourgeoisie's catalan men in the XIX century and part of the XXth.
      Despìte the goverment had agreed to lend it for the Arts School, it was well known that they prefered to speculate and hire it or sell it to a rich firm, or for more private financial purposes.
      The school was forced to move to a different location in the end and then goverment suddenly lost interest in it. They simply closed and abandoned this wonderful place, and it became dirty, broken and got ruined (a lot more of how it was before when we still were studying there. When something was broken they never gave the school the necessary means to repair or even allowed us to do it ourselves because they wanted to force us to abbandon it).
      Last time I was there (before covid) I almost cried of happyness when I discovered that some cultural associations from the district managed to claim it in order to save it from decay and ruin. It's rumored that it will be fully restored and it will become again some kind of Art Facility and I hope so. I'll be happy enough if it belongs to neighbour's purposes even If I'm not allowed to enter anymore (because I am from a different district).
      We students have tons of anecdotes of our time inside EL BOLSIN. It was marvellous and decadent at the same time, with its marvellous wooden double doors, dirty aged tiled floors, broken stained glass windows, our photography laboratory in the old kitchen room..... It was even rumoured to have its own ghost!!

    About 10 years ago we were in Barcelona and in the gothic quarter we found the tiniest, I mean super tiny cafe which was so very amazing with it's Stone and timber walls low ceiling and so very dark even in the middle of the day. We tried to find it the next day and couldn't?! Wonder if it's still there.
