  • This tutorial video will guide you through the process of crocheting the strawberry stitch using a regular crochet hook. This is a reversible pattern and does not require you to cut off the yarn at the end of every or any row!
    The crochet strawberry stitch is a charming pattern with a delightful 3D texture, making it perfect for various handmade items like blankets, shawls, scarves, hats, and more. In this tutorial, I will guide you through making this stitch pattern using a regular crochet hook. For the demonstration, I'll be using a size 3.75mm crochet hook and worsted weight size 4(medium weight) yarn but you can use any yarn of your choice and the recommended hook size on the yarn label to make this pattern.

    THANK YOU! I have been trying to learn how to crochet and I just learned a month ago how to make chain stitches and double crochet to make squares using double crochets.
    Over the last couple of weeks I have tried to learn how to make flower granny squares and watched so many videos but I haven't found an easy video just yet. I have also tried to make other patterns from other people and it hasn't been a success.
    I found you thru instagram and saw your strawberry video there and it looked more simpler to understand then everybody's else's videos.
    So I found your TH-cam and subscribed! I tried following this video with success! Now I can make your pattern! So fun! Now I want to learn how to make a baby sweatshirt for my daughter with this lovely print because it is getting quite cold here in Sweden.
    Thank you for this amazing video and for explaining everything in a much better way than everybody else does, you are a great teacher!

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, it completely depends on the yarn size you want to use. IIn case you are using a bulky weight yarn then you would need atleast 6 skeins of each color. Also, it would be better to buy green color yarn more since the pattern requires it more than the Red yarn so make sure to buy extra green yarn😊

    Could you use this same pattern to make a blanket that looks like pumpkins?

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can absolutely try this pattern for pumpkins. I already did that way back earlier but I realised that it doesn’t look anything like pumpkins. To me it just looked like orange strawberries! This pattern does not define the pumpkin ridges. We need the pumpkin ridges to be more visible and this pattern does not bring a realistic pumpkin look. But that’s entirely my personal opinion and you can definitely try it and see if you like it😊

    If wanting to make a blanket for a baby, how long would you suggest for the foundation

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, a common size baby blanket measures around 24 inch to 36 inches(approximately 1 meter) so it totally depends on the yarn size you are using.

    This is going to be my first crochet project and I want to do a blanket. How many chains would you start with?

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, chain stitches completely depends on your yarn size and blanket size you want to make. Also, please follow the stitch calculation I mentioned at the beginning of the tutorial. Once you work Chain stitches as per the calculation , that would be the width of your blanket so you can increase/decrease the width as per your choice. After that you can keep repeatong rounds to increase in length.

    Is there a way that you can write down the stitch pattern in the comments. Cuz I'm having a hard time going back every time to the video. It'll be easier if I could just look at the pattern written down. Does anyone understand what I mean?

    Could you tell me what fiber your yarn is? Would you recommend 100% acrylic or 100% cotton?

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, I used a 100% acrylic yarn in this so i’d suggest using the same😊

    Is it possible to decrease strawberries as you go? I’d love to make this into a bandana

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t tried it but I think it is possible! The way I’d do it is to not work the chain spaces for the strawberries(the one we do with the green yarn) at the end and just keep working slip stitches across and then make the chain spaces for the next row of strawberries.

    Question: what is the crochet needle size? Thanks!

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I am using a size 3.75 mm crochet hook but you can also use a hook size below the recommended hook size on the yarn label. For example- if the recommended hook size on the yarn label is 5.5/5.0 mm crochet hook then you can use a 4.0mm crochet hook.

    How do you make it a cardigan? Sorry new to crochet

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! For a Cardigan I worked this stitch into 5 sisterseparate panels. One back panel two front panels and two panels for sleeves and then I attached them all togather😊
      I completely understand as a beginner it does get a little confusing but you’ll be fine❤️

      I’m looking to make an adult sized strawberry blanket and I think you mentioned the use of more green than red. Typically I use about 20-25 skeins of yarn. What ratio would you recommend?

    • @Mushyy_1
      @Mushyy_1  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lynettenelson4298 hi there! In case you use 25 skeins in total for example then I’d suggest getting 12 skeins of red and 13 skeins of green. But that completely depends on how you crochet (whether loose or tight) so just make sure that you buy extra 2 skeins of green yarn. I just made a cardigan for example and i used 6 skeins of red and about 7 skeins of green.
