Great video, thank you. Watched it before cycling the route to learn a few bits, which helped lots, cycled it (March 2023) and just watched again afterwards with a smile and a pint! Thank you.

Just completed it on my Specialized Turbo Levo from Ifracombe to Plymouth. Did it with my brother. Great ride. We took it easy and stopped overnight at Great Torrington and Lydford. Hired a van in Plymouth to transfer bikes back to car in Ifracombe then dropped van off in Barnstaple.

I'm planning to do Plymouth to Ilfracombe, stay 1 night then return to Plymouth the following day. This video will help me so much in terms of navigation i'm sure :)

I remember you doing it the other way round a few years ago, is the bit by Peter Tavy rideable 2 years ago we had to push that bit.
I’m doing it from Illfracombe next week

Andy Alder Bike I was on will take any terrain but that bit is like a public footpath. Worst problem are bits not signposted well, just after Halford Bridge & Tavistock tricky, I took the route on simply from memory from 8 years ago.

@@sandpit72 about 4 years ago you did a video of the former Birmingham City training ground, I cycled past there a few weeks ago and was shocked to see that the Land Rover factory has been extended all along Damson lane and all the fields etc have gone 😩

@@andyalder7794BCFC rent the current training ground at Wast Hills, Kings Norton from Birmingham University.
Damson Lane would have made a great permanent location for a training ground (plus a less invasive development).
I'm guessing JLR have owned the land for a while for future expansion, shame really as handy to the airport for when BCFC get into Europe under current manager Lee Bowyer lol

Judging by the shadows I'd estimate it must have took about 12 hours all in. Is that about right? I'm planning on doing as much of it as I can in a single go soon and am trying to understand the size of the challenge.

    Is the route clearly marked?
    Also is it relatively flat?

Really useful video, looks a great ride. Planning for this year but starting from Ifracombe. Don’t suppose you have footage in reverse?

I don't have it running south due to sun glare into the camera.
