- In this weeks episode we are back in our self converted camper van exploring the beautiful country that is Wales! We travel to off the beaten path destinations and more unusual places
on the hottest weekend of the year we hike into the Brecon Beacons, discover a wonky church and take a gander around the UK’s most romantic ruins.
We’re delighted to be back in our van Safari after a month of travelling without it though Portugal and loving the fact that home is where we park it!
This is Crusoe's 5th country on his list of 100, so a mere 95 left to go before he gets to school! We of course are loving his as adventures as much as he is.
We are the Newbys, John, Tara, and our two little boys Crusoe and Sawyer. We’re a family who are pursuing an alternative lifestyle, and after two years of full time travel we’ve taken root on an abandoned farm in Northern Portugal which we’re renovating into our dream off-grid homestead. We release new videos every Sunday sharing our story, and we’d love for you to be a part of it with us. Wales is my NO.1 favourite country as well as Italy !!! I revisited Wales last summer finally !! I couldn't believe how kind Welsh were ,especially in Newport !! Everytime I got lost a bit & asked for a direction ,they took me to the actual spots !! Lol Nobody does that anymore !! I was also very very surprised how Welsh women were physically tough !! I was on my way to Devon from Newport, Wales on a train & female workers helped me with my very heavy carry on luggage ( 2 of 'em ) & many shopping bags !! Lol to get on my train & one of 'em followed me all the way to my car to lift 'em again & put them on the shelves for me !!! She caught me by surprise when I realized she was right next me & reached for my suitcases !! Who does that kind of service !!? I've got lots more to tell you !! But ,it'll be too long ! Lol. Saundersfoot & Tenby were gorgeous 😍 I saw several drop dead gorgeous women & girls in Wales ,too !! And very good looking boys also !! They were all so polite & sweet !!! I loved Monmouth, too !! What a beautiful, tranquil place !! The bus drivers there were cray cray ,though !! LOL They drove way way too fast ,it felt like a roller coaster ride !! 😅😂 It's not good for a faint heart !! Lol Almost everybody on busses said thank you to the bus drivers everywhere I went in Wales !! I used to do that in Japan ,but I was the only one did that as long as I knew !! Wales is gorgeous 😍 I hope you made it to Wales !! I did ( my 2nd trip there ) last summer !! Welsh were so ~kind ,especially in Newport ,I couldn't believe how kind they were !! They all took me to the actual spots whenever I got lost & asked 'em for directions !! Who does that !? No one does it anymore !! Lol. Wales reminded me of such a kindness & forgotten norms in life !! I am Japanese & when I was a kid they / we did that in Japan !! Decades ago !! Lol. Nowadays people are too busy & don't care much about helping others ! Saundersfoot, Tenby were gorgeous !! 😍 And I love Monmouth !! Very tranquil ,peaceful, beautiful place !! Bus drivers were crazy ,though !!! It felt like a roller coaster !! Speeding way way fast !!! Lol. Cardiff was fun ,too ! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💕🏴💕

What an excellent video of my home. Henrhyd Falls has the largest single drop in South Wales in an area called Waterfall Country. Many other great waterfalls nearby such as Aberdulais and Scwd Gwladys. The area is also famous for its caving systems and you missed the most amazing tourist site in the area.... Dan-Yr-Ogof caves. It has the largest single cavern in Europe!!!! You HAVE to go back. Just a mile or so down the road from there is a 'castle' with beautiful parkland you can actually stay in - Craig Y Nos Castle. All about 40 minutes from the Brecon Beacons. Danfon cariad i chi (sending love to you) and looking forward to more vids.

I love how you are showing off my home country, beautiful Wales, great for tourism. Shame you visited when 'twas but a trickle, Henryd Falls is spectacular in flood. It was the location for Batman's lair in the film The Dark Knight Rises, though not much of a hidden den when you were there.

We've been to this waterfall a few times it's lush... and the whole raining in Wales thing is a lie 😑 we have lived in monmouth for almost 5 years now and we experience the best weather 🌞

We’re you able to sleep with the running stream Tara it sounded very fast flowing , I love wales and left there December 1962 as my father wanted us to be in England when we started working and courting, but I did miss the Welsh countryside even though we were from tumble Swansea, Carmarthen and Llanelli part. That church made me laugh very crooked but quant. It makes it even more interesting when you are not sure where you are going you always find lovely spots and interesting information, I love you guys ❤️👍

It is better to walk uphill first while you have the energy then downhill when your legs ache and your muscles lovely tree lined walk though to shade you from the heat.

I've followed your route on the road passed the spot where you squeezed between two house buildings and from there not sure where to go. Do you have the GPS of that field please. Thanks.
