Zwiedzanie poblicznych gór polecam wyjazd kolejką gondolową (można dojechać autobusem numer 8) na Szyndzelnie, potem udać się szlakiem w strone Błatnia, następnie do Wapenicy przez Palenice (wczesnośredniowieczne miejse kultowe, trudne do znalezienie bo mocno zaniedbane). Bielsko-Biala looks beautiful! It will only get better as more buildings get restored. I absolutely loved the building with the frogs. So unique!
Btw, it looks like Studio Filmow Rysunkowych (the animation studio where famous cartoons, such as Bolek and Lolek and Reksio, were produced) is getting an interactive exhibit. I'm not sure whether that's open yet or not.

Thanks for visiting my home town! I'm happy you liked it so much. Bielsko-Biała used to be a very industrial city in the past and one of its nicknames (apart from "Little Vienna") was "Silesian Manchester" because of the abundance of textile factories there. I don't live in Bielsko-Biała anymore (moved into the countryside a few years ago) but I still love to pay it a visit once in a while and have a coffee at the old market square.

This cucumber is not a pickle, it differs, it's called "ogórek kiszony"-soured cucumber, not gherkin, cucumber. The water from it, kind of a brine, but not brine exactly cuz there's no vinegar in it is the best cure for hangover, seriously, no kidding. Try it after a proper party, you'll be surprised as heck.

Recommendations: in the nearby town of Żywiec (trains go there from B-B) there's a historic brewery of the Żywiec beer and the Habsburg's Castle, the city is surrounded by mountains, lies by a river and a lake, worth checking out if you have some free time. Definitely check out the gondola to Szyndzielnia or head to Szczyrk, where you can do the same, but to the tallest of the local mountains - Skrzyczne. Another lovely city nearby is Cieszyn, one of the oldest citites in Poland, likely predates the country, it has a place called Cieszyn's Venice, with little restaurants by water canals, a well where supposedly the legendary chieftains of Slavic tribes split their ways to found Poland, Czechia and Rus' and it's right on the Czech border and fairly close on the Czech side there's a reconstructed ancient slavic settlement. In the Katowice direction there's a town of Tychy, with their own historic brewery (Tyskie beer).
Other: it's Barlitz'kyego street, the train station was built by the order of the austrian emperor, as a part of Vienna-Kraków railway, the food stands by the stations used to sell a classic commie fast food - hot dog buns filled with mushrooms, people loved them, we actually have more malls: there's also Gemini and post-commie Klimczok shopping centre, the dog statue was actually from another cartoon - Reksio, as there were many made by the Studio Filmów Rysunkowych, also, by the protestant church there's a statue of Martin Luther, some say the only one in Poland

    • @lm157
      @lm157 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Very old church in Cieszyn, built in Roman style, don't remember correctly now, but 800's or 900's, so over 1000 years old, well worth seeing. Also Sucha Beskidzka (Sucha-Suha phoneticly), which is in about an hour, hour and a half distance from Bielsko. Surrounded by Beskidy Mountains, on the bank of the Skawa (Skava) River and with very nice castle just on the outskirts. Castle inside looks like miniature Wawel, I mean inside yard and is surrounded by beautiful park. In the town there is also very famous locally and very old inn called Karczma Rzym, with superb legend about Mr Twardovski and the Devil himself. Poland is so rich in interesting places, that you really would have to come for at least a year to just scratch the surface.

If you plan to go for Szyndzielnia with the gondolas make sure to hike a little further from the upper station to Klimczok summit with beautiful view into south. It is quite a short hike and you will not regret it. I would also recommend Góra Żar with a cute little train going all the way up to the summit. It is a central point for paragliding in the area so you would see a lot of that there. And the views are superb! Actually I'm from Gdańsk but I was in the area near you a month ago doing some exploration myself, and those places are my findings.

I remember those food kiosks/stands from the early 80's. One used to sell kinda hot dogs but with sauted mushrooms instead of frankfurters. Another one was selling cone ice creams and jam doughnuts. I suppose they were there since the early 70's. At least 2 of them. Bielsko used to be a part of Austria. Austrian enclave, hence the architecture and its nickname Little Vienna. Old name: Bielitz.

Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) - Toruń and Olsztyn, as well as Giżycko, the vacation capital of Mazury Lake District. In the first weekend of August every year (6-7.08 this year) there is an air show over the lake in Giżycko. About churches, in Katowice is one very beautiful basilica, name of it is Bazylika św. Ludwika Króla i Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny (Basilica of St. King Louis and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and it's in Panewniki district. If you will be again in Poland in christmas time, I recommend go there and see Europe's largest altar nativity scene built inside a temple, I'm not christian, but even for me it's something amazing. There are also some small narivity scenes from different countries, even from african countries, and also living nativity scene, that means some animals. This basilica have also big green calvary, beautiful place. :)

You should give Wisła a try, it is nearby. The name of the town is the same as the largest river in Poland, which has its source there.

Hello guys, speaking of north north of Poland, i recommended visit old town in Toruń city (Unesco since 2007), next recommendation: Malbork castle - the largest castle in the world measured by land area (Unesco). Then visit Gdynia Gdansk Sopot (Tri-city), beautiful cities. Other places hmm i recommended also Auschwitz-Birkenau museum in Oswiecim near Cracow, it's sad experience because concentration camp etc., but definitely worth to visit at least once in your life. In Silesia, castle Książ is worth to visit too. Enjoy your trip in Poland guys :)

Hi, i glad you visit Poland and show people less popular tourist destination. If you have more time I recommend visit Pszczyna. It's a small town but very nice. It's call a "Pearl of Silesia". You can see here a historic old town, palace and English-style park. Very popular is "Pokazowa Zagroda Żubrów", when you can see European bison.
I very like your video, so I subscribed and going to watch your older videos.

im from western Poland, but you ask about places who we like an they are dont in foreginers "menu". In my mind, the most lovely place like this is : Zamość city! this place is stunning (for me) its sad you where so close and dont visit Zamość, but you mention about to visit maybe Kazimierz Dolny in Olsztn video, so you gona be close again. If you chave a chance i believe i worth to visit place too. I know many smaller places to visit but ont know you goa lke it, but zamos is defeniteli worth to show by you eyes. Cheers

18:00 Polish gulasz is nothing like Hungarian Gulyas, lol. I don't know how that happened. I think it was popularized during Austro-Hungarian administration, but somehow they confused the dish names.

That purple Oshee is an unusual taste also for us in Poland.
This flavour is 'The Witcher Limited Series' (The Witcher is the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, worldwide known because of the Polish video games series and because of the Netflix show). Even on the bottle you can see the picture of Yennefer. And the taste of this purple Oshee is Lilac and Gooseberries (all Witcher funs know what it's about).
So - this flavour is definetly not the standard one in Poland.
    ___
22:50 - BTW. If you try to pronounce "Barlickiego" (or anything like this in Polish) in Poland we do not pronounce "ck" as the sigle sound. It is separate "tz" sound and "k" sound. So - your pronounciation was perfect except for that, you should try to say perarately "tz-k", somethng like "Barlitzkyego".
    __
14:24 - Yes, that was Slowakia, not Slovenia. 🙂
