  • Hey everyone, in this video we have the battle of the Traxxas bashers, MAXX VS SLEDGE!
    Both cars are almost completely stock, except some little upgrades to both.
    We ran both cars through the same challenges, speed, stability, donuts, jumping, and 2 wheel challenge!
    Both cars are amazing in their own way, and both will bring your RC experience to the next level! Below is the cost difference, and a link where you can purchase them.
    Traxxas Maxx $569.95

    To go faster, Sledge.

    We both need some 3 ft wide ramps for the 1/8 size . It’s tough to hit a 2ft wide ramp with a 1/8 . Totally do able but that is my next ramp size . I jump in grass it would be different in concrete . I like the spots on the parks around tree lines where the grass is flat and sparse and the trucks go through it easily but it’s still padded for landings . Thick grass sucks until I flatten it

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah our 1/8th scale cars only have an inch and a half on each side for error. We usually jump on baseball field grass, softer landings but still easy to drive through.

    I first had a Maxx..then Xmaxx now just 2 weeks ago yhe Sledge. Maxx and xmaxx are just so durable. I wanted the Sledge for the speed. It did take 5 batteries betore i could drive it without fixing something. Once kinks worked out its great. Sledge is probably my favorite to drive though. I like the Xmaxx for driving off road like creek beds. Its basically a ⅕ crawler lmao.

  • @chriswright9659
    @chriswright9659 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sorry guys but the sledge has many weaknesses, main one being the chassis if you really start jumping that thing it will bend quite easily and the motor Mount system is junk. And will move around on you but with some upgrades it is a sweet truggy

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like we said in that video, we will find those weakness as we use it more. A must upgrade is front/rear differential gears from stock to spiral cut. And yes, a new motor mount system like M2C design will fix most of the gearing concerns. And that’s currently in the process of being upgraded.

    I've got a 3.3 T Maxx and absolutely love hearing it shift into 2nd gear, so good. But...my buddy had the bigger Revo and having reverse is worth not hearing that nitro engine ripping at 26,000 rpm. Went to buy a Revo but they don't make them? I think the Sledge replaced the Revo, but I can't decide between the Sledge and the X-Maxx?

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everyone says Revo when they mean the E-Revo, two different platforms just clarifying. The Sledge did replace the E-Revo unfortunately. They still make the Revo 3.3 and T-Max 3.3, but I’ve heard the 2.5 was a much better motor. Thank you for the comment

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The MAXX is the V2 (wide MAXX), and definitely the SLEDGE. The sledge is wider, heavier, and way more stable. You can make the MAXX handle great by lowering the suspension, and making the shocks much softer, but you’ll loose a lot when trying to BASH.

    Sledge has 0.65 inch lower ground clearance + grass resistance is probably the reason why the sledge wasn't faster off-road.
