I cannot get over Hiromi’s insane rhythmic control. It’s unbelievable!
please also showcase jesus molina
i couldn't even imagine keeping those notes organized
Especially when the claps came in....it was almost like they tried to throw her off track at first.
It’s like she made this a cake walk. Even 16ths and 8th hardly and odd rhythms. Sense of time is other worldly.
That is music I will never be able to read. And I'm pretty damn good at sight reading harder pieces!
I'm in total awe....
She doesn’t practice 40 hours a day, she practices 40 hours an _hour_
She practiced 40 days an hour
She crowdsources alternate Universe versions of herself in the way a quantum computer does. Potential hours practised a day? Practically infinite.
@@adamsmith7058 she uses shadow clone jutsu to practice everything 100x faster
@@oceanic_orca She practiced 40 days an hour in another hour
@@fictionsolosanyverseyounam7599 mingLing 40 years/second.
For those that are concerned, the Piano is in a stable condition and recovering from trauma, and PTSD.
Lol
I hear that Piano has moved to the seaside and has retired from this career.
Nice reminds me of a _suprisingly_ funny family guy cut away about Guy Fieri's Toilet
Bro
Bro
Devil : play this in perfect tempo
Hiromi : easy
Devil : ok people, lets clap!
😮🎉
I feel like the chosen one since I’m the 444th like.
The 666 like is approaching.
When we get there, can we please try and keep it there?
Come on humans, you can do it.
@@WhoThisMonkey so you returned to be a human wwww
@@YiSangLimbusCompany
We only need 20 more likes, do you reckon us Humans are capable of balancing it at 666?
I don't think it's ever been done.
shes not just a pianist at this point, shes an athlete
So good the audience started clapping polyrhythms
She must be performing in Turkey!
the audience straight up got a bit xenakis'd
Those were oopsie rhythms.
This caught me so off guard lmao
@@mharbaugh could also be germany xD
I don't know what is more impressive:
- The speed
- She smiling while playing so fast
- Not losing the rythm with those annoying af claps
The combination of all 3 put together definitely, each one on their own is impressive as hell but put them together and it's just incomprehensible
I feel like she smoothly adapted the playing to the claps so it would match up. Which just makes her showmanship shine so much brighter than it already does.
It's insane. It's like she isn't thinking at all. The music is just spilling out of her.
- transcribing this piece
Or the fact that this guy transcribed all of this
Besides the fact that it’s absolutely insane that she’s playing this piece with a smile the whole time as if it’s the easiest piece in the world, I’m loving the little notes in the transcription, particularly “WHAT THE CLAP IS THIS”.
The piano has been practicing 40 hours a day to be ready for Hiromi. It did well.
She played the piano like how animators animate people playing the piano
@Fundamentally Unorthodox oddly specific
@@gowri7004 and oddly precise
@@gowri7004 oddly true too
That would be reasonable for how they animate things fast lol
She is a Looney Tunes character come to life
"You can't play WRONG notes this fast!"
Audience: "We can't even clap in time"
it's killing me
The title has since changed, for those wondering
scary thing is this is not even a joke
I really can't
1000th like :v
But… If you can play it slowly you can play it quickly
Not only is the piece straddling the line between nonsense and brilliance, but she's loving every second of it.
1:23 What beat should we clap on?
Audience: YES
This comment right here! 🏆🥇✨
Hahaha! 😂🤣😂🤣
you can hear the audience having a collective panic attack as they desperately try to find the beat
"screw it just keep clapping"
@@Jackerey17 First comment had me laughing out loud... reply had me wheezing
Really it should be a simple task, somehow made impossible
Panic for me as I try and find the exit.
Just clap with the semiquaver then xd
I strongly believe that Hiromi only falls asleep to the soothing sound of a metronome.
I love that she's playing "I got rhythm, I got music" "who can ask for anything more" when she also has super speed, genius brain power, super endurance, a genuine love for what she's good at, an infectious personality, and probably like 12 other legit superpowers that didn't happen to come up in the performance.
"I bought the whole piano, I'm going to use the whole piano."
lol bro I laughed so hard at this 😂💀😂💀😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ohmygawd
Okay, the clapping really got me rolling. This entire performance was amazing and the lost clapping is just plain funny!
Like they tried clapping 1-3, but they got lost about 15 times.
clapping must be banned
If you can't do it properly, don't do it at all. Clapping included.
I always watch these videos keeping time with one finger on the desk. On lots of pieces George chooses to feature I can have a hard time, and that is part of the fun for me. But in this piece the time the claps started I '"literally couldn't even"'
Literally the worst clapping ever, it's like they were thinking "ya know, we really need a quaver break at the start of every bar"
And then it just descends into hell
I’m about to turn 50 soon. Listening to this style of music makes me wish I had been born in the roaring 20’s and later years where the analog sounds of music were found in many entertainment establishments. I bet everyone that those times, although probably some of the roughest times known in US History produced some of the most memorable music in entertainment history too. I, for sure, will definitely remember this young beautiful lady and her magical music! Brava!!!!
I just love the fact that she smiles the whole time
This is way too funny how she just destroyed Gershwin's I Got Rhythm and then jammed Rhapsody in Blue into there just for the heck of it xD
So that's why I was hearing Rhapsody in Blue...Thank you for giving me the name of the piece!
She loves the hell out of music. Look at that huge smile! Everytime she plays lol
Every time I see a video of her I fall in love
@@1337-Nathaniel I fall inlove with how inlove she is with music. Music is her heart and her soul. Her blood and bones. And I love watching her enjoy herself!!!
Remember, if a pro can play *this* then you can learn that one song you’ve always wanted to, on that instrument that’s been lying around in ur house for far too long.
Thanks. Now it's time for me to finally learn that anime song I've always wanted to learn
I don't have 40 hours a day though
@@Arterismos don’t let the time involved deter you, my friend. 15 minutes of practice a day and you will have a recognizable tune by the end of the week. Pick a song that moves you and look up tabs and give it a good honest try.
I’ve always wanted to play gaspard de la nuit but I don’t have enough time or skill
@@reesemekkes dont use tabs, train your ear

Your transcribing skills amaze me as much (or even more) as the playing portraied on the videos.

BUT LIKE- HER SENSE OF DYNAMICS IS SO IMPRESSIVE TOO!
ITS NOT ALL FAST AND _LOUD_ CUZ THERES THE LITTLE QUIET BITS THAT ARE JUST AS FAST-
its the most impressive aspect of her playing at all. ALWAYS perfect dynamics. always.
I'm somehow so happy to see a happy pianist!!
i love how joyous she is over this. love to see joy in this world
She plays like 12 pianos falling down stairs, and I mean that in the best possible way.
when your last wish is to listen to I've Got Rhythm by Gershwin but you only got 2:30 left, so you ask the jazz demons for help
As a classical musician and an aspiring composer, this is the most complex piece of music i have ever seen. These keys were made for her, and she was made for music. Look at her face! She makes it all look easy!
Yes, this is so complex, but she is more a virtuoso than a good composer.
I became a Hiromi fan the first time I saw/heard her on you tube about 10 or more years ago. Still a fan. She is fabulous.
That's what practicing 40 hours a day gets you.
At least!
2SET
Channeling that big Ling Ling energy
Ling Ling is proud!
but there are only 24 hours in a day?
Bro how did you even transcribe that??? You’re more insane than she is!! Great job
Naw but get what you mean

@@steelers3321 oh my bad. Idk why I assumed George Collier transcribed it
It's 2022. Their are transcribing tools . It's one in the movie drumline.
She's in her own world...she literally FLOWS
Humour verges, ragtime, and sensational 90's jazz reforms. What an amazing combination and so perfectly drawn out here.
Easy. She practiced it slowly. And you know, if you can play it slowly you can play it quickly
Ling Ling fears her.
Yeah, that's not exactly how it works... 😂 ... I do know that I can't play it slowly though... so I won't be able to check!
@@anonglakmoonwicha2726 : it's an old meme from 2set violin - as is the 40 hours practice.
Problem when there are too many notes, practising slowly takes 40 hours to sight read it once.
@@clementdenis4212 Ah... missed that one.
Y'know, usually when I read titles like these I read them as, "When someone is playing this fast every note is correct". But after this video I understand the intent is, "Even if you, viewer, slam jammed on the keys, randomly, as fast as you possibly could... You wouldn't even match the speed on display".
Yuja Wang playing 'Flight of the Bumblebee' th-cam.com/video/8alxBofd_eQ/w-d-xo.html or Hiromi playing this? Yuja looks like she's working, Hiromi looks like pure joy. Yuja is fire! She is an incredible classical pianist, among the top tier performers. But I would have so much enjoyment at a Hiromi concert.
She is absolutely amazing. Incredibly exciting and entertaining to watch but, most importantly, she still manages to be very musical.
man, watching her play live was a blast!
Hirmomi's skill and presence are incredible. I just have never heard her play something that I enjoyed listening to
True of a lot of talented musicians.
Listen to her Voice album, place to be... Some beautiful melody here
Yeah. It was impressive, don’t get me wrong, but just not enjoyable to listen to.
listen to her stuff with the hiromi trio project, much different from this
I love listening to this frenetic paced jamboree stuff (minus the clapping). It reminds me of the good ol’ days of Tom and Jerry cartoons all morning.
Stop smiling while playing stuff like that or I'll quit music forever.
stuff like what? this is incredible playing imo

Damn. I'm really pleased with myself that I can even _hear_ that fast.
Every time I see a video of Hiromi it looks like she's having more fun than I've ever had in my life
The most convincing argument I’ve ever seen for decaffeinated coffee….
i have a couple of her LPs somewhere ... damn amazing player - one of the very best in fact
I highly recommend seeing Hiromi live, she tours the country quite often, one of the best shows I've ever been to
Lucky enough to have witnessed Hiromi live twice now -- once in Florida and once in Osaka. Amazing both times. I left the performance worn out. She is exhausting...
It’s fun to watch Hiromi’s high speed virtuosic chops but it sort of masks the fact that she is actually an incredibly thoughtful composer capable of great complexity but also beautiful poignancy. Compare a song like Kaleidoscope with Firefly to get some idea of that range.
i love this lady.
The way she controls the dynamics on those incredibly fast sections are insane! 😍
I hope to someday have this kind of command over my instruments
I already know that I never shall have! 😑
I hope to someday have this kind of command over my happiness, I mean holy crap look at how much fun she's having
The Goddess of Jazz
This is an excellent representation of a really energetic friend in music 🎶 👍🏿
Not excellent!!!!!!
she seems like shes having so much fun how wholesome
I totally forgot I transcribed this one and was very surprised to see it in my TH-cam feed today 😂
An audience trying to clap to music is the bane of my existence.
You should go to a Greek taverna (where even drunk people clap to the rhythm)
Astonished...!!!! I cry for every scales......
40 hours a day...
Now I'll practice 80 hours a day!
the way she smiles while playing all of those passages are...
The speed is insane but it's even more impressive that she could modulate at that speeds
I've never seen someone play something that's so incredibly technically while barely looking at the instrument pretty much at all
I think at that speed if it's not entirely muscle memeory you're not going to play it. If looking would help, you can't play it.
Love how much fun she is having.
worst clapping i've ever heard lol
She is incredible and irresistible . A pure wonder.
Hiromi's sheer talent speaks for itself, goddamn. i also gotta give George mad props, i couldn't trascribe this to save my life
When your parents teach you with a bamboo in one hand during lessons, and then you take a ton of speed before your performance.
I’ve found that many of the most impressive musical performances such as this have parts that are so impressive that they don’t even sound good
yes, best music is not the hardest music
Absolutely insane
Her smile is so infectious!
I love her chaotic energy! :D
I love Hiromi. The simple joy and sheer mastery.
Literally just sounds like a midi. Flawless.
Wow...just wow. I have no other words. 😊
Her joy is so beautiful to see
When you have to give the whole concert, but your plane leaves in 20 minutes....
Not even thrown off by the audience clapping off beat.. stunning!
and the best part is she looks like she's have the time of her life just jamming away
therapist: jazz with correct notes doesn't exist it can't hurt you
jazz with correct notes:
she is literally crazy in the best way possible
I think this is the only Yamaha piano i;ve heard, that sound's crazy good! :)
Disfrutando! Analiza cada 50 notas, menos no sabe hacerlo. Incredible! Beautiful! Excelente! Awesome! Something else?
I need a girlfriend that can summon creatures from the plane of jazz
Gershwin 😍
Okay that she’s playing this is one thing. But the transcription! I’m impressed
I don't know what's more impressive: The playing, or the fact that this was transcribed to sheet music (assuming it was done by ear).
IM OBSESSED W THIS TYPE OF MEME
I started learning piano in the beginning of the year, and I can't tell you how impressive this is. I do play other instruments aswell which makes piano a lot easier. I play guitar and ukulele, but they don't help much, because piano is so incredibly different. My finger seems to slip when pressing the black keys. It's been 6 months and I still slip as much as I did when I started. How she doesn't slip, boggles me!
Hiromi will always be one of my favorites
i love how much fun she is having
Mind boggling.
The kind of music you play when you've become so immersed in music you're in a whole other world when you play
oh yeah this is good! let me get in on this! clap..clapclap.....clap..clap
I giggled the whole time watching this.
I LOVE HER
“Why yes, I played piano since I was 3. How could you tell?”
Surprisingly enough she started playing at 6 at was playing pieces like flight of the bumblebee at 8
You should include some "Trio Töykeät" on this channel. The piano playing in their song "Final Fantasy" is mindblowing.
I am terrified and mystified at the same time
Like how can a human being play this is so flawlessly, and even if there were any mistakes, her movements were so fluid that I've failed to notice any.
what a goddess
I am going to see her live next week I can't wait to clap off beat!!
