I legit fell asleep doing it as warrior, couldn't make it to floor 40 because I was getting so bored and stopped paying attention, leading to dying to stupid stuff Swapped to machinist and straight up cleared on my first save file with it. Amazing+ seems about right
Appreciate the tier list. I really hate how they put a TT card in this content. It's basically dead now so I have to resort to soloing and I not only have little to no aetherpool, but I keep getting screwed by rng in early floors.
I've just gotten into Orthos and man, it has.... not started well. Got caught by surprise twice by bombs on the low levels and insta-wiped. One wipe on the first boss because I was playing with a friend who isn't very good and was paying too much attention to babysitting him. And then last night, another wipe on floor 27 when a Vanara snuck up on me while I was fighting a Demolisher.... then scythe-tailed me with a knockback that sent me straight into a landmine.
I've cleared on both new jobs and they are broken compared to the old jobs. VPR was about as easy to clear as it was for me on SAM or MCH but they have 2 mitigation abilities, where VPR only has 1 (feint). PCT was a bit easier than RDM or SMN for me. Both new jobs didn't seem to get gimped by bad floor debuffs at all. VPR could smoke a gloom + mob damage up + no abilities floor 91+ fairly easily as long as you used regen pots. I wish it had another mitigation ability but it was really only the fast auto-attackers that hurt. PCT was killing Mimic's before they used Pox if I had all of my burst ready when they popped.
Thanks! And just wondered how you dealt with mimics or enemies that were interruptable. I noticed you tier-ed SAM / RDM at the top with MCH but wondered what your thoughts are about them not being able to interrupt? (Unless it's not really that valuable)
Although pox is annoying, it was never more than that for me so I didn't even consider it during my tier list. At worse you'll get a no item combo while you have pox but there are three ways to handle it (Unei / Knight / Serenity)
I'm still in the farming phase before tryinging solo. War felt bad, so slow. MCH is naturally a blast, and smn somehow felt better than RDM even as a RDM main.
I'm trying on RDM now after dying on WAR to a random mistake I made on floor 6x. Its tough getting used to having to potion but the damage is so much better I don't feel like I'm standing around just waiting for things to die
Until you are fully unsynced (floors 41+) and topped off at +99, yes everything feels really slow. Especially since in HOH the first 50 floors were nerfed with both HP pool and damage dealing making them VERY fast compared to this. The first 40 floors are absolute torture.
I haven't found an answer to this anywhere, but been curious: how important is multi pulling for a solo clear? Or is it doable with 1 mob at a time? Thanks for the content!
Got a summoner clear recently had to turn my spell effects down tho, got killed a couple times from being blinded by bahamut and titan as something started a 0.5sec cast.
I feel like warrior should be a little higher up cause of holmgang's low cd. You can pull several mobs with safe mechs, invuln, step on a mine and finish them off. Can even do it with a whole room of enemies if you throw down a witching or lethargy too
I disagree. I never felt war had an advantage with using the bomb trap this way since the invuln isnt required at all for it to work. I do this every chance i get on PLD The only way war would have an advantage is if you found a bomb trap exactly every four minutes and you must to invuln it.
@@never5930 You would need to invuln if you were getting hit by aoes while waiting for enemies to gather around the mine, and there can be multiple mines per floor so having a short invuln cd could help you make use of them
@@ThePiggyGuy nah, you just need to be topped off before you get hit by the explosion. For example, drk, use tbn to keep some health prior to explosion then then just use abyssal drain after the explosion. For PLD just holy sheltron, and clem right before the explosion to make sure youre topped off and HS will give you some sustain on top of that. Thats where you can even use your burst for more healing or you can just clem. For gnb, just pop HoC and aurora prior to explosion, and kite a bit until youre at max and then once you explode you have enough health to not die from it afterward due to the excog and regen. Basically, as long as you have something to heal you after the explosion you wont die. All tanks do in deep dungeon. Thats why warrior doesnt have any real advantage using the bomb trap strat. Unless you know for sure that you have access to a bomb exactly every 4 minutes and you dont know how to resolve it outside of invuln, then WAR's holmgang doesnt have any real advantages here. I use this strat without invuln all the time, and i pull over half the floor in most cases. So for me, holmgang isnt really neccessary for this strat, and all tanks can reliably do it if your know what youre doing. And in addition to that, popping a hi potion and regen potion makes it even more brain dead and safe to pull off
although I really felt the strength of hg's short cd + the insane heal of bloodwhetting doing massive AoE pulls on WAR for score, I have to say that for just clearing it didn't feel that helpful. I only really did landmines on 71-72-73 and I was able to do them on every single job with a witching without too much issue
Out of the dps jobs I've played so far, through the entirety of EO, is RPR, MCH and DRG. I have to say, RPR feels far stronger and better compared to MCH. So I personally would put RPR as Amazing+ and MCH below it and DRG as Strong+ While MCH can interrupt mimics, it doesn't sell it for me, because the only real damage it has is coming from is Chain Saw, Drill and Air Anchor and holy shit it really really needs to rely heavily on steel in the later sets, which is why it's Amazing-. DRG I have to move down to Strong+ and not Amazing-, While it definitely feels bit stronger than, MCH, it's way to busy for what damage it does, which is why I have to knock it down to Strong+, RPR I put up to Amazing+ because I had zero problems with it, heck it melted enemies down very quickly I'm not sure why it feels stronger than DRG, but it does and it's rotation is less bloaty and simple. I've yet to try the other dps jobs, I'm pretty sure they're probably perfect where they are on the list.
I played on tanks first and DPS second, I truly believe tanks are below DPS. Especially on lower floors where you grind to 90, omg, so boring and they are pretty tight on time as well. The best thing on tank is you have invul as your panic button and you don't really need pots/steel. If you have a lot of pots, the higher your aDPS the better, that's why you see SAM and MCH up there. No stress in catching up to time, higher damage means less mechanics to do, less mistake.
It is very weird. We had a podcast before EO came out and every single one of us agreed tanks would be overpowered. We did not predict that they would make damage meaningless and instead turn it into binary oneshot mechanics
Eureka Orthos is my first Deep Dungeon i am trying solo and so far my best attempt was getting the Floor 80 Boss to 0,1% HP.. I feel really discouraged to continue and don't know, if i am able to do it..
Eureka Orthos doesn't have a big difficulty spike for the later sets unlike PotD and HoH. If you can clear up to 80 (I would even say if you can clear up to 70), you can absolutely clear up to 100 as long as you look up what each monster does. Don't get discouraged!
Meanwhile you can't even sustain through the floor 10 boss on most dps... I don't get Orthos. Like, as Machinist, I need Orthos Potions or I literally don't have the healing to survive the boss's auto attacks. Yet... I can't get through Orthos to GET Orthos Potions... without Orthos Potions...
