      eBay started the whole sneaker reselling game tbh, before GOAT, Stock X or any other site or app you wanna name, eBay has always been there when it came to finding anything you wanted but couldn’t find elsewhere, especially hard to find sneakers. I’m surprised it took them this long to set up an authentication service considering how many fakes have been sold on eBay for years now.

  • @Invictus-Solaris
    @Invictus-Solaris 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

    Seth, with regards to the GOAT order coming from the UK: it’s not about buyer’s location as it is the seller’s. It just so happens that the pair you bought at the time was by someone selling them from the UK. That’s something that can happen with any of the others as well. When it’s in those foreign countries, the length of time necessary will depend on how they handle things over there. I’ve had packages from China through StockX take more than two weeks. Side note: when they make it to the US, sometimes Customs can hold packages as well.
    A great video as always! This was a fun check-in with the places to see how they were doing.

    Haven’t tried GOAT or eBay yet but I’ve bought 3 pairs and sold one on StockX in the last year or so. Even though GOAT is growing, I'd say the quality of their authenticators have gone down, cuz on several orders I've received damaged boxes or shoes with defects, and if a buyer wants a refund they take some of it out for return shipping even though it was their fault for letting the shoe pass in the first place.

    StockX is great until you have a issue and for that StockX sucks. They have Zero customer service. The chat works once in a blue moon. The biggest issue I have is of you buy a shoe for 200 and the seller doesn't ship them in the allotted time stockX will set you up with another seller and if that next seller is selling the sneakers for 125 instead of 200 you dont get a 75 dollar refund. Nah StockX keeps the 75 bucks. I will never use StockX again.

    Been selling on all 3 for a couple years, and I will no longer be using GOAT for anything. I purchased an expensive pair ($700) on there, and they arrived with scratches in the paint and the suede. Had to wait two more weeks and pay a slightly higher amount because there were no other listings. The last straw came when a pair I sold was flagged as “replicas,” while giving no reason. The shoes came DIRECTLY from Nike. Ebay passed them with no problem, so the process GOAT uses is honestly just a joke.

    Half of my stockX purchases have had customer service involved. I think they should have a fee for shipping delays towards their sellers. Or a fee reduction for sellers who ship faster. I had a seller who took 2 weeks to ship out their shoes.
    I’ve ordered from goat less than stockx but I’ve had no issues with them. When I order from them I know I’m getting my shoes shipped faster.
    I’ve never bought from eBay, but as a 2 time seller I think it’s the best overall. I was impressed at how fast they got my shoes to the buyer. Whenever I look for shoes I check the prices on stockx and compare to eBay and it’s almost always cheaper on eBay. Not to mention eBay doesn’t charge fees for the buyer. The sellers fees are actually not as high as the other two options either.
    I don’t really buy shoes for resale value anymore, but if I did it would be through eBay.
    I’ve done two trades on Tradeblock and had no issues. I traded my hyper royals for some pollens and Oreo 5s and 100 cash. I also traded the pollens for some indigo 12s. It’s a good place for getting shoes you want but not for shoes you want to flip. The fees cancel out any profit you could make since most deals are going to be of similar value.

    eBay is my go to for buying sneakers. I bought multiple pairs from eBay last year and it was always the cheapest place to cop. If you hunt consistently enough you can find some good steals; I ended up getting a pair of true blue Jordan 3s, for $100 under the market price.
    The only issue I’ve ever had, was that in that specific purchase, the seller took almost 2 weeks to ship the sneakers (after you actually purchase sneakers, eBay blocks communication between the seller and the buyer for some reason) so I couldn’t contact him/her to see what the hold up was. eBay does allow 30 days for non shipment to be challenged and after that the seller has 3 days to ship or else the purchase is refunded. If this happens to you, don’t cancel your purchase manually. Sometimes sellers will purposely wait to see if someone gets impatient and cancels (ex. maybe they got a better offer on a local marketplace and sold) so it doesn’t negatively affect their seller rating, it would affect the buyer negatively.
    I almost thought that I would be refunded and have to keep searching, but it all worked out. The whole situation was a little frustrating, but wasn’t enough to turn me away from buying on eBay.
