This predicted grading system for me is like a godsend in all seriousness. Loving all of the salty 5th years hahaha. So happy I skipped Transition Year
Shorteagle I had the worst attendance due to mental health so I studied primarily at home. I think I would’ve gotten at least 420 points in the exam but because of my attendance I’ll probably get like 200

I like failed a couple of my 3rd year Christmas exams but ended up betting 5As and 6Bs in my JC. I’m so glad I can sit my LC this year because cramming is my preferred technique when it comes to studying. They’d probably predict 100 points lower than I’d actually get.

@@seamuscos9186 I’m hoping for 601. 625 if I’m very lucky. 555 if I’m downgraded. But honestly, I know many people that got better JC results than me who probably can’t get above 600. I think what is allowing me to get above 600 is my great subject choice. My friend who’s smarter than me could easily get 625 with my subjects, but she’ll probably get 589 cuz her subjects don’t suit her at all.

I would have been fucked so badly if I had been doing the leaving cert this year. I barely studied at all and always half arsed my homework until like april. Never studied for tests or nothing. Packed it all into about 2 weeks before the exam. Got 400 points. Such a bullshit system this year all for a glorified memorisation test.

This is obviously a joke if this is how students will be graded, why not just have them sit the leaving cert at home like I did because i was in hospital during the actual sitting. I had a teacher come to the house and supervise me. They could hire supervisors to do the job
That's physically not possible if you think about it, they're trying to social distance and also, those people wouldn't agree to supervise some random student. For all they know, they could be sent to supervise some knacker in a caravan, personally I would hate to supervise that student
What the education minister should do for the leaving cert 2020 is A: Get retired teachers or outside contract teachers to mark students mock results. B. Get students to list there preferred courses in order of preference and then write an essay as to why they should be admitted to college and there preferred course.
C: In the mean time the education minister should ask the different university department's in the different college's around the country to form a committee of six to ten people to look at students mock results, go through and debate all the students essays and then take a vote won who should and should be admitted to said course and college. That way teachers can't be lobbied, blamed or bribed. And the process will be seen as fair and above board.

I was gonna get angry at the fact that your idea would shit all over everyone ever to previous take the exam, myself included. But then I realised this years students are getting it fucking easy anyways and any system they do come up with is a spit in the face to all us previous anyways so there’s just no winning
@@cormacdonnelly5015 Actually most of what I have outlined such as looking at exam results, having to do an essay or an interview and looking at extracurricular activities or some type of combination of what I have just outlined and an admissions committee taking a vote as to which students are admitted to college is what most universities and Institutes of technologies around the world do.
