Hey, ,I tend to notice that my tyre pressure increase a lot along with the temperature when i go on long rides. Any recommendation on what tyre pressures to use for long rides(approx 500 kms)
I have a major doubt. I own a Honda Hornet 2019 version. The label on the bike says 25 psi/26psi for front+rear for solo rides. Every time i go to recheck air, the guy goes nuts saying FZ needs 35/40... Why's the big change? Is Honda wrong with the numbers?
I am new to this biking community, as in I bought my first bike at the age of 23. And this series really helps me understand about bikes and how to actually take care of it. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Can someone just take a moment to appreciate Shumi's vocab and com skills. Explained with such simplicity and with great facts. Have always been a fan of PowerDrift's content and Shumi. 🔥
This thing, tyre pressure, is really important to me. I feel very uncomfortable when my ride's tyre pressure is not as it should be. Thank you for making a dedicated video on this topic 😺🤙🏻
Finally, now I know a person who talks that stock recommended pressure is mostly best for the vehicle as well as the driver/rider. Thanks a lot Shumi for picking up this topic and explaining it clearly! @PD you guys rock! 👌🤘
One more alert to know tyre pressure is low is the effort required to move the bike ! Its considerably higher when you need to move it around ! Great series about such useful nuggets of information 👍
Is it necessary to top up your tyres with air even if there is a reduction in 1-2 PSI? And does it matter if you fill it with NO2 or regular compressed air? I would really appreciate it if you guys could answer these questions of mine. Great video BTW.
While a drop of 1-2PSI won't really make a difference, you should get the tyres checked if the drop is rapid. Nitrogen does have it's advantages, but they are negligible in regular riding.
@@ragschavan That's not a gymmic brother. Normal air consists water content in it and it may gets condensate when u park it for more days and it also leads to rust inner side the rims. Nitrogen doens't contains water particles and condensation principles. Still normal air is enough for our bikes and cars. Premium cars might need Nitrogen air Thank u
You are spot on. I have purchased an michelin air pressure gauge. I have found out that the puncturewala meters are genaraly awful. Sometimes they are off by 50%. Petrol pump digital meters are much more reliable. You have to buy a digital or analog certified pressure gauge to maintain your tyres be it car or bike.
Your communication skills to put across complex mechanics and physics is truly amazing. Joy to watch you even if you know nothing about motorcycles. You're doing an amazing job. Thank you
With the last PD simplified content.. thanks to you I am paying more attention to my rideing stance now and happy to tell you that the strain on my left forearm has significantly reduced now.. trying to hold up the bike more with the below the waist part now and useing handle as just a stearing tool.. thanks shumi.. u r the best
Really these podcasts are developing skills for us guys who loves riding bikes a lot. Thank you PD for such great content!👏🙌 Also, if you guys can please share a podcast on quick shifters, that we would be helpful!😃
It's absolutely necessary to have a reliable tyre pressure gauge. I learnt it in a hard way that resulted in an accident when a local roadside tyre shop pumped 60 psi in my rear tyre when I asked for 38-40 psi. His gauge showed 40. After the accident, I was agape to find the psi 60 from another tyre shop.
I did a lot of searching on this topic when I bought my first big bike a few months ago. The tyres felt a bit skip-happy initially and it turned out that was coz I'm only 60 kg (with riding gear) and I was running the recommended pressure. Lowering by 3-4 psi just gives me the best feel.
Very informative and started watching ur content from recent times as have bought my first bike and loved the content. Great work... Guys... Keep going ahead..
I literally searched for a video from PoweDrift on this topic couple of weeks ago!!! I was disappointed because there wasn't any. Thanks PD for sneaking into my search history and making a video on it🤪
Another thing thats come to my mind is a confusing parts of the air pressure: 1. Air pressure on your tyres in actually max pressure that tyres have. 2. Air pressure of the same tyre is different for the same tyre for different manufacturers and is given in manual or in a stickers on vehicle.

@@powerdriftofficial Hi just wanted to know what size of tyres is best for my Apache 200 4v because the company fitted tyres looks very slim & if you can suggest me some good tyres that will be of really help?

Good information, thank you. Can you please make a video about how to take a test ride, when you go looking to buy a new bike. What are the essentials, what points have to cover. How to make a smart purchase and lot fall in the dealers trap.
Let's talk for adjustable shock absorbers. My mechanic at service station was educating me how to change the shock absorbers to more hard or soft depending upon the weight, road and the climatic conditions but I wasn't able to get it. Is it really that important and if it is I'll like to know when, why and how could this benefit us to become a better and safer rider in streets.
Always fill air when your tyres are cold. Avoid filling air after riding for 10+ kms. And better to keep a tyre inflator at home. Michelin manual foot pumps are good.
The tyre pressure should be as mentioned by the manufacturer, running on low or high will affect the stability, tyre life, uneven wearing on one side and so on. I Always check my tyre pressure once in 3 days. If it's just 2 or 3 psi low I can definitely feel it.
Accident today on Cement road.. Didn't even feel the front tyre slip until i lean a bit.. Split second down on right... Still can't process what went wrong.. Speed was in my comfortable spot... Maybe my tyre pressure was too high and my front tyre was on 13500km..
I weigh 85 kg and own a Bajaj Avenger 160 Street, which recommends a tyre pressure of 21 PSI for the front and 25 PSI for the rear. I recently replaced the stock tyres after covering 35,000 km with CEAT Zoom X3 tyres. Could you please advise whether I should stick to the manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressure or increase it by 2-5 PSI?
Good topic Shumi, my question is, what if I upsize my tyre, then do I still maintain the manufacturers tyre pressure or should I increase/decrease it? Say the stock size was 130/80-17 and I up size to a 150/60-17 shd I maintain the same pressure? Also does the summer heat and long touring in the summer account for tyre blow outs? Should one consider then to lower tyre pressure depending on the commute/tour?
Is the tyre pressure based on the motorcycle or the tyre .. What happens when you switch from say MRF to Metzelers should the pressure be the same set by the manufacturer ?
@powerdrift and @shumi thanking you for this content....regarding commuter motorcycle, can you please give some info on expected variation in tyre pressure when checked in cold & in hot condition (after running for some distance) .....I've seen the difference going above 10 unit when checked in petrol pump
Can you guys please do a simplified episode on the different types of automatic transmissions in the market? Waiting for a simple explainer on which is better and why.
In vstrom 250 the prussure recommended is 22 psi in front and 29 in the back. Is that really low considering the fact that these are big tyres ? Iam confused.
