Nice job man! Love that solo...another thing to try is to play everything as you have played it, but on the last arpeggio of the opening run, use the following fret pattern, 12,13,12,15, 20(index tap right hand) and then descend...not sure how Dave does it but it sounds smooth and avoids the final position shift...give it a shot, maybe mix and match...
