There are many videos online to do most stuff. You should have used 500 grit sanding paper to remove the bad clear coat/paint across the back of cab before installing the new window seal. After that, your spray paint over that sanded area. If done right, it looks great. It would make the back especially around the windows much better. In the automotive field, we “all body” the areas that needs to be repaint after it was originally painted. This ruffs up the surface for the new paint to adhere to. We are only allowed to paint a body three times. After the third time, the frame/body would be destroyed. Hope this helps.

Good job. About to have the same adventure myself and figured I’d see what I was getting myself into. I’m changing the old split window to the solid glass for leak stop.

Joe - I'm planning to do the same thing on my '85 F150. How did yours go? Did you do it yourself or with help? Thanks!

@@tomnoller2427 was very easy. Watched a few videos. Cut away the old seal with a razor on the outside, split windows came out easy after. Then used a rope tucked into the new seal placed around window, and pulled it through seating the seal to the frame. You will need an extra set of hands, someone will have to hold the windows from one side while the other pulls the rope through to get it placed. All took 10 minutes.

First Happy New Year. Hello! I hope you are well and good. Now lets answer your question. No Adhesive was needed to replace the Ford F-100 weatherstrip on the real window.

@@mcscgreenwheels update. I put it in and gave it a water hose test. No leaks! Now to do the front windshield

Some people get lucky with no bedding compound, but to be sure 3M 08509 would be used between the frame and gasket and even glass and gasket. I never hardens, staying gooey. Dennis Carpenter gaskets have this in their instruction sheet

@@rudsaki thanks I still haven't gotten to the windshield yet I'm getting an engine built so I put that on hold. It'll give me time to get everything I need though. Ty!
