Penang is the English name of the state. The Malay name of it is Pulau Pinang (literally means, Penang Island). Pinang refers to a type of palm tree, which is featured in the state's flag.

I liked how you incorporated maps, paper dolls, photographs, sea shells, stones as the intervals between shots, or to help explain the area! Great way to add different texture to your videos!

Pinang is the Malay version. The reason why 'Penang' is considered to be English is because the British couldn't pronounce it properly. That's what we were told in our History class.

My home! So happy you guys visited Penang. They've put up a fencing along Gurney drive so that has blocked the sea view (I noticed you were sitting there)

A practical suggestion: Kodak has developed a hybrid device, between Super 8 and modern digital, that provides an additional digitised version of the film. Jessica Your perfect blend of 50s - 70s and modern narration, and Claudia, Your camera and vintage colour edits, create a stile, that almost demands film! I think, You are really onto something! Keepup the good work:-)

I went to Penang last week but just spend a day there. Their main attraction is Bendera Hill, but don't forget to buy Fast Lane ticket if next time you wish to go there or you'll end up queue for a kilometer just to get into the cable train.

I really didn't expect to nearly start crying while watching this video. I've heard my parents tell stories of their time in Georgetown and I'm pretty certain while my parents were there as Khmer Rouge refugees my parents had their first kiss while working together in a library there.
