Great video! Keep em coming I just got 6 of these little dudes for my 40L tank. I had only 20 cherry shrimp and 6 Celestial Pearl Danios. The Danios were SUPER sketchy and would rarely be seen. Plus they hang out right on the bottom. These guys are awesome. I fell in love with these guys within 2 minutes of being in the tank. They're just like a pack of puppy dogs. They just run around checking everything out, tasting anything that comes within range. They come up to the glass and check you out, then go on their way. Highly recommended. Super friendly fish! Oh and you're right, they're feisty, but big wimps and run away at the first sign of trouble. The Danios are smaller, but clearly the dominant species. CPDs are incredible. I highly recommend them too. More so than the Rasboras
Surprisingly these borapetensis are not sold anywhere in local fish stores throughout malaysia, their homeland. As far as i know. I keep a dozen of them as well and these are one of my favorite rasboras. All of them are caught personally by me in their natural habitat
My red tail (leo) just passed away who lived for 10 years. He was a trooper as when I first got him my filter broke and caused my tank to look like a tank that look like finding Nemo with only one other Rasbora, who didn't make it . He lived through that for about a year and a half and lived for 10 to 11 years. Passing away this week due to an infection :( i got him 2 other buddies when i finally cleaned that tank and he lived for so long, I'm grateful he saw a better day and i cant believe he did for this long
These guys are beautiful. I have seen "brilliant rasbora" labels at some of the larger chain pet stores. Thank you for the enlightenment on these pretty fish! I wouldn't mind having some of these someday :)
Thanks for the informative video. Great observation and reporting on the fish behavior. I noticed that there are a few Cherry Barbs in your tank too. I assume they get along with the Red Tail Rasbora well. I’m planning on setting up a 75-gallon planted tank with Red Tail Rasboras and Cherry Barbs.
Very cool fish. I just visited a few fish stores yesterday and saw brilliant rasboras. Not sure if they were actual brilliant rasboras or red tailed but they looked like these. I was thinking they'd be perfect for my future larger community tank.
You sold me on these guys - I've been looking for a mid-level fish that isn't too small so that my bottom dwelling platydoras won't snack on them. I also have a few odd brevibora cheeya in the tank that I had to separate from their smaller dorsiocellata cousins as they were bullying, I think they come from the same waters so should get along okay. The cheeya at the moment hide all the time, their school is too small but it's impossible to buy more (I can only get the emerald eyes and hope for more bycatch). Maybe some fish from familiar waters will settle them down!
Great video! Keep em coming

Got myself 3 B.dorsiocellata as contaminants from a batch of neon tetras. Must be from the farms.
In the industry these are called the "Blackline" or "Magnificent" rasbora
Rasboras are basically South Asian tetras.
I have a empty 20gal with fake plants I can put these in all by themselves
yes
