Thank you for this tutorial, I just made a beautiful brown bow tie, with the exception of a messy neck strap (had small metal attachments so the strap looks bulky but it still works so that's all good, no one will see it under the collar right 😅) My fabric though, was either too thick or the needle I used was too fat so that was a struggle hand stitching 😂 Thanks again!
I am glad you got it finished! Sometimes we have to make it work with the tools we have- at least you have a beautiful finished product and nobody will see under the collar :)
It honestly depends on the weight of the fabric you are putting it on. I use the SF101 often because it is woven and I like the feel especially with quilt weight cottons. You want it to hold its shape, so unless you are using a heavy canvas, it will work nicely.
Run the raw edge through the hardware and fold the raw edge under about 3/8" and then fold over about 5/8" before stitching in place. You are using about 1" of the strap. No more than 1.25". Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am making this as a gift for my nephew
Thank you for watching! Hope he likes it!

Thank you for this tutorial. I wanted to do a lace overlay. This was perfect. I made 7 bow ties for my daughter's school.

Thanks for watching!!
Thank you. This is really nice looking!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy making one!
Thank you for a tutorial! How do you cut the fabric?
Thank you for watching. With smaller pieces, I use my rotary cutter to cut my fabric.
Great video, excellent tutorial!!
Thank you! Hope it helps!

Excellent tutorial, thanks so much. If you were making this for an 8 year old what would the fabric dimensions be?
Honestly, I would make a tester first to try out a different size. If I was testing, I would start with a cut size of 4.75" x 14".
Just get the person measurements
Thank you.
Thank you for watching!!
Best one yet to make bow ties. The turning with the pin was not working for a minute. Trust the process. ❤
Thank you! Glad it worked out for you :)
I ❤ it... thanks so much.
You're welcome 😊
Thank you so much I managed to make one and I’m delighted and am off to make some more. ❤
Yay! Very exciting! Glad it worked out for you :)
❤ Excellent 👌🏿 tutorial thx❤
You're welcome 😊
What stabilizer do you recommend? I used SF101, seemed a bit heavy. Thanks

Question: What is the inches that you folded in the bow tie strap ends with the hardware???

What dimensions would you use for a toddler bow tie?
I would make a tester first to try out a different sizes. If I was testing, I would start with a cut size of 4.75" x 14".
Is 3/4 bow tie hardware ok? I'm looking for what you used.
Yes, that is fine. Here is the one we used www.beyondfabricinc.com/shop/c/p/Bow-Tie-Set-x35880184.htm
Yes great tutorial, although turning the casings was a battle…
Yes it can be! Thank you you for watching!
