@@Chrispitchwildlife Cheers. I just ordered a mint condition version of this lens from Japan for a cool $70 USD. Mind blowing price and I've never been burned by sellers in Japan so I'm really looking forward to using it. Your channel/videos are very cool.

Just got this lens for my 2 EF-M cameras and it works nicely with a cheap Viltrox adapter. Your samples are just stunning! Videos in slow motion and the photos, simply beautiful! It looks like you had a lovely time there.
Thank you so much for your nice comment Fire, very good budget lens indeed! That's funny you mention my lovely time there, because I am back there tomorrow for 1 month! 😁
I'm thinking of getting this lens for my EF-M Canon M50 with my Viltrox adapter, as well. How does the autofocus and image stabilisation of this lens pair with your EF-M camera? (i presume its the M50 or MK2).
@codenamesquad4358 I got to use my lens on 3 occasions only so far, because of cold season, but I can honestly say the auto focus works beautifully on my M50 and on the M6 mark II. Can't fault it at all. The only thing is I'm used to faster prime lenses and I feel the difference there. Can't wait to test it outside in spring time. This lens needs light to work as intended.
Thank you for your comment Walter! 👍 Yes, so sharp for a budget telephoto lens! Not to mention light weight and a good image stabilisation. Great 10 years old lens! 😄 I know nothing about Tamron and Sony though. Ingat po!
I use this lens on my 90D (I´m not a mirrorless person), and It works really well. It's probably one of the best value-for-money lenses you can get for Canon EP-S cameras..
@@goldenfrog6EsCoSes I agree 100%. According to Christopher Frost reviews it works even better on a DSLR. He had to 1 stop down the aperture to get as sharp on the R7. Thanks for the comment Goldenfrog! 👍😀

I bought this lens now, but it is used, and I'm going to try to do a Brazilian review of it, but I haven't gotten any photos that good yet. Did you use manual focus a lot when filming? Or did you use automatic more? I'm going to do my review with an R10. Congratulations on the content.
Thank's a lot for the comment Louis! 😀 I think it was on auto focus all the way in this video. I hope you don't have a bad copy. Maybe ask in a photography shop, or a canon retailer what they think of it. Good luck, and cheers! 🙂
Nice vid! Have you tried the EOS R7's AF tracking modes (e.g. eye tracking) with this lens? If so, how did the lens perform? Was it fast enough to enable shooting in bursts?
Hello Fumio, thank you for your comment! 😀 All the birds in this video and the cat and sometimes the dog are in animal eye tracking, and burst mode most of the time. And it worked well. I am not sure i ever photographed anything faster with that lens. At that range of 250mm you usualy shoot animals "a bit less wild" and a bit more calm. (Ducks, or zoo stuff) However last weeks i tracked a crow flying over a field (without eye detect) and the crow is sharp on the few pictures i got. (But too far and small😁) I am confident that this lens should be ok in most uses. The autofocus is fast. I am sorry i can not help more. If i go shoot wildlife i just take at least my RF 100-400 actually... But one thing for sure is that if you can get a good copy of that 55-250 maybe second hand. It is a very good deal. Have a nice day. 🙂

@@GunplaTAPTI hi, I guess I would start by checking that all the screws are well in place. Hello Fathanarga, I don't really do anything special. Do you have sharp results with your other lenses? If yes, then you have a bad copy maybe. In the case that you are a beginner, then do not forget to put the stabilizer ON (unless you have your camera on a tripod). Now the goal is to be very steady, 2 hands on your camera plus your head. You want the maximum shutter speed, but with the minimum ISO. And make sure you have your focus and/or focusing method right. And shoot outside where there is enough light. One way to see if the problem is your lens: you put it on on a tripod , you lock your focus on a bill of 1 dollard, you put a timer of 2 sec. You shoot! You check. I am sorry, I don't know the right answer for you so I tell you things that come in my mind. 🙂
@@Chrispitchwildlife thanks for replying! in my experience using it for a year i only able to get decent sharpness at f8, i used to always shoot with f5.6 / 7.1 but the resulting images were very soft and lackluster. I will try the bill test right away!
@@fathanarga you are welcome, it's hard to answer without trying it myself. Try at different apertures, but ISO 100. Turn the stabilizer off if you put it on a tripod.
