Those of us who have actually coached DCM junior rifle teams understand how and why this would be a useful addition to our programs. It is not loaded or armed until the line is ready and the shooters are cleared to commence fire. All weapons are discharged before the command is given to cease fire. All weapons must be incapable of firing before the line can be declared safe.
Just got the last one in Canada this week. Very nice pistol and a pleasure to shoot. I have a Blackstar HW45 .22 which is kinda heavy and this is a nice companion. It fits my hand better than the HW. Easy to pump and very well balanced. Recently bought a few Russian pistols including a new izh 46m but this might become my favorite. Chiappa made a nice pistol with your expertise guiding the way.
Will there be a single-stroke rifle in the future? Pneumatic guns are much friendlier for training beginners than spring-piston guns because there is no hold-sensitivity to worry about. Right now there isn’t many single-stroke pneumatics left on the market.
Nope. It means a cartridge is in the chamber and the breech is locked. It doesn't refer to a manual safety, if one even exists on that particular pistol. And why do we say "lock and load", when we actually load the cartridge before locking the breech? Because the term originated in muzzle loader days, when you brought the lock (hammer) to half cock, then loaded the powder and ball. So "lock and load" became a standard military term, and it didn't change when we transitioned to metallic cartridges.
This is likely made by Chiappa Firearms in Italy They make the FAS 6004 and looks identical to this internally but slightly different body styling. Nothing really new here.
It should have a safety. I don't care what it is for. Especially if there is any possibility a youngster may be using it, there should be a safety. If it is there you do not have to apply it. Oh just a cost cutter, I see.
Its a competition gun. You have to pass a competence exam before you can even enter. Its part of the licence to even take part. Health and safety people like you have literally ruined all fun.
@@elcues It actually does, by making the gun less accurate and harder to control. Safeties add clutter and more mechanical components to the trigger mechanism which reflects in the actual precision. Besides, do you wear safetygoggles on your bike? How about in your car? No? Ooooh! Big big risk!
A weapon that is unloaded and unarmed is safe. Adding an external mechanical safety would tend to promote confusion and bad habits. A weapon that is loaded and armed is capable of firing if anything disturbs the safety or if it fails for any reason. When children are handling weapons the weapon must remain unloaded and unarmed until the child is ready and permitted to fire.

Did not know that Tony Soprano's wife works at Sig.
Why it discontinued??? Will Sig produce it again?
Beautiful and the wood grips really do add to it!

Actually, I think I just got the last one in Canada. A shop in Cambridge Ont. had one in stock and I ordered it. I should receive it in a few days. :)
Looks so Sig/good! Would definitely like one!

What is "hold sensitivity" ?

Slight changes in the way you hold the gun, affect accuracy.
Doesn’t “locked and loaded” mean a round is chambered and a safety is engaged?

YUP.

Chiappa made it. Good article by pyramidair on it.
Is it left and right hand grip?
Only a half pump for California and must be registered......
Oh I get it. This is their new home defense line.
Maybe for the German market from 2021 onward...

5,5mm/.22 and 7,5 Joule ... that's the right price.

Either the girl is very small or the gun is really big.
She is 6'4'' and the gun is 1.5 feet long and weighs 15lbs, ha.
Technik aus den 50ger Jahren, Preis maßlos überzogen. Hat das wirklich ein Deutscher Ingenieur entwickelt? Wohl kaum.

@@ThePollaxtroy I do not think that having a manual safety ruins anyones fun. You can choose whether to apply it or not.
