i was considering one of those some years ago but i was itroduced to a biakal mp 46 m at a local target club. it is single stroke prenumatic. fires at 145 ms very consistenty with 7 grain match pellets. its self serviceable. easy to pump and extremly accurate. and cost half that of the aa alpha. and also get rink grips from germany. i have had mine 5 or 6 years now still on same seals. i am sure the alpha is a great pistol just prefer ssp to pcp personally. i know how good air arms are i have a 510 us and its awsome. i realy like watching your reviews andy thankyou.
I'd take the HW45 over the other two all day long, if I was gonna spend £600+ on a pistol the HW44 would get my money. Enjoyed the vids Mr, nicely done ;-)
I traded-up a Gamo Compact (an excellent gun which had performed well over 20 years) for the A.A. Project Alfa. Firstly, it is not a lot different in price to the Weihrauch HW44. The Alfa is supremely accurate (a number of Club members have borrowed it!) with sorted pellets - I use A.A. The only deficiency, for me, is the lack of an adjustable grip; as on the Gamo at £150! I shall be keeping it for 6m & 10m at the Club - if the other members let me use it!
Our club purchased 2 of these pellet guns for the class I teach. They are awkward to handle and shoot due to the length, the air cylinder design limits the number of shots between fills, and the counter-weight (included) was useless because the set screws were not long enough to contact the underside of the barrel and the weight would slide freely. The air cylinder filler is different than any other PCP gun and the seal on one failed within a few uses.
Thanks Andy. Having a relatively small garden, I can't get the best out of my rifles and really fancy the Alfa for target work. However, before parting with £800+ at current prices, I'm hoping to get 'hands on' at the British Shooting Show in February.
Regarding what you said at 7:53, this was exactly what I was looking for, I am considering these 3 as a 10m trainer pistol while I wait for an used Steyr, or something like that.
Hi Andy,great review, the target pistil is something i have been considering for quite some time, i do like the look of the Alfa, i have been looking at the Steyr & FAS 6004, this has certainly helped me with my decision

Perhaps somebody needs to make a PCP pistol where the bottle is out board; the bottle on the bench and air fed to the pistol through a hose (similar to a compressor driven tool)?

Interesting series of vids , and yes out of the 3 I'd have chosen the hw40 as well ... The air arms though the obvious winner for accuracy ect ect is way out of my league , not monetarily , but the skill needed too get the best out of it .. I held this pistol, and a number of others, and found my trigger finger was not horizontal, but rather extended. How important is it to have the finger horizontal?
Can you put a gauge on the bottom of a quick disconnect that fits the male quick disconnect that's on the gun so you can just turn the up up to see the pressure in the gun ? What male quick disconnect is used on the gun ? Can you put a link to it ?
That ugly loud 'music' annoyance chased me away from Andy's channel and over to more pleasant to watch airgun channels. On the other hand audiologists love this channel and it brings in patients and fees.

Compared to the German target pistols the AAPA (!) is very, very good value. Though with my eyes it makes little difference!

Another good video sir, I do like the Alpha. Iv had a 45 and found the sights too high above the grip for me.

na the hw45 is bad ass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 beeman P1 pistols one only works on high power both .177 I can drop rabbits with no problem
