My only complaint about Bully is how the most loyal faction to Jimmy, the bullies, who stays on friendly terms throughout the whole game after chapter one, have no use in the story whatsoever. Russell fucking rocks. Favorite character by far. I guess they wanted to convey that the bullies don't really care about the politics between the other factions, and only do their thing. But for me, it's a bit of a miss.
The Tenements is my personal favourite. The whole atmosphere built by the grimy, dirty building, the rough rock music, then the boss with Norton and that massive sledgehammer is great. Only issue is that Norton can be easy to cheese. I wish he was a bit more difficult but it's amazing. The Warriors comparison is so warranted too. Feels like a couple of missions where you're in an enemy gang's hideouts like the Turnbull ACs in Mission 14.
You mean _ConSumo_ ? I actually thought as a mini-game it was pretty fun, and isn't that difficult especially if you grew up playing simple Atari era games.
One benefit of "Christmas is Here" was that there was no clock until you went to the office for the gift. It was an opportunity to grab collectables without missing lessons and upgrades.
Great video! _Bully_ is definitely one of my favourite games, and definitely one of the greatest Rockstar games, by a Canadian studio too. I remember reading pre-release info, seeing teaser trailers and being super excited because it had been a long time since a game like that had been made. When I played it, it was everything I'd hoped it would be and far more besides. It might be a small open world but it was in that golden period where developers knew smaller scale but with extreme attention to detail was a bit of a sweet spot. Nice to see you reviewed the _Scholarship_ missions as well - one of the better ways to play this these days without modding the PC version is running the 360 version on a One X or Series X. The PS2 version always had performance issues although I don't hold that against it because it's the way I first played, and I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Pro tip if anyone bothered to read this far: unlock the Go Kart as soon as possible by doing all the carnival races. It's ridiculously OP and you can escape the police, knock people high into the air... it's hilarious sandbox fun.

On the Tagging mission, it's worth noting that each tag gets you a certain amount of money. There's a few difficult to reach rooftop tags that earn you $100 each
9:00 The Collector was originally a cut beta mission re-added in scholarship edition. The cutscene appeared in a prerelease trailer but it was set in chapter 3 under snowfall. That's also why you teleport over to New Coventry for the cutscene. The other new mission with Clint was supposed to occur first because Jimmy meets him for the first time in that cutscene, but the missions weren't made available in the correct order.
10:54 This is because the starting cutscene shows Peanut overhearing Jimmy's conversation with Ms. Phillips, and he too thinks that Jimmy is actually going on a date with her. He has conversational dialogue saying that he thinks Ms. Philllips has a crush on him so he does it out of jealousy. It's still a weird part of that mission because it really never gets solved and by that point of the story the Greasers respect you, it would've been better if Peanut had joined in the conversation between Jimmy and Mr. Galloway and realised it all was a big misunderstanding.

After watching your GTA mission rankings I thought about how the Bully missions would rank, since I love the game too. So I'm glad you made this! Obviously my experience with the game was different so I don't agree with all the rankings (Wii motion controls has a lot to do with it) but everything is well argumented, although I think you should've factored the soundtrack of all the missions too since you only do it in a few . Bully, moreso than any other Rockster game, puts heavy emphasis on its OST and some missions (like Tagging) are hardcarried by their songs.
Derby, which is pronounced "Darby" like the English city, is the most 'blue blood' of the entire Preppies clique. His family is one of the main benefactors of the school already, and the Preppies' fraternity house is even named "Harrington House

Funny thing, Each faction has a Gay character you can kiss as if they were one of the girls. Most famous of them being the Jock called "Kirby" since he begs for you to not tell it to anyone.

There are only a select number of boys you can kiss in the game. I can't remember them all but I know Trent (the blonde bully with the white polo shirt) is kissable, and I know that every other clique has a boy you can kiss as well, but I can't remember who.
The kissable guys are: Trent(blonde bully) Gord (prep who steals the trophy) Vance (short ginger greaser) Cornelius (black nerd) Kirby (short brown hair jock) and Duncan (short townie with orange gear on his shirt)
I remember showing this game to a friend of mine and before they even met with Crabblesnitch they were determined to beat up every single bully on campus, it was brutal to sit and watch silently begging them to just continue on with the mission. I love this game 🤣
Funnily enough, since fighting mechanics are only formally introduced in the later part before the dorm, you're not meant to fight the bullies right from the get-go so they can often glitch out in the beginning - in my personal case resulting in me being able to humiliate them multiple times without them running away, with one of them eventually becoming literally petrified. It was funny.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the biology class because I played the game mostly (as in, the full storyline + all the collectibles) on my Xbox 360 and the joystick is far too slow and used to make completing biology 5 anywhere close to easy. Safe to say that when I got an Xbox One for Christmas this year (along with a Series X controller) I was overjoyed to see 1 minute left on the clock. Biology with stick drift is what occurs in my nightmares now.
5:17-5:55 I also had a problem with this mission during my most recent playthrough; for me, it was mostly the same thing, and there was even a glitch where I would hit one of the townies with a snowball but it wouldn't register as a hit. I was playing this game on the Series X and after multiple attempts, I finally just decided to use my Xbox 360 and the mission worked fine with no glitches.
Great video, while I was watching it, in my head I was naming the mission names in my head before their title was revealed and 90% of the time I was right lol, I played this game way too many times, it's a masterpiece. As I was making mental notes about the missions you didn't mention yet in my head, about 60% through I realized you were saving the missions that end their respective chapters for last and I completely agree, those are the best ones and I also agree that the Christmas Pageant was easily the worst. I was slightly surprised you like Busting In more than Total Mayhem but I'm not complaining, it's a great choice. For Character Sheets, when you get kicked in the balls, you can get up from the ground within 5 seconds and the bullies will run away while giving you the sheet back, but the 60 FPS patch makes extremely hard and or just broken, luckily it doesn't fail the mission, that would've been a shit softlock.

The one mission ehere the traveling was a nightmare for me is Bustin In Part 1. Particularly when you have to meet Russel at his house (that Jimmy somehow knows is where he lives and where Russel somehow got a police bike) and they decided not only do the cops gotta come for you if you’re not wearing a helmet but you have to FOLLOW Russell halfway across the goddamn map just to get to the 2nd part. Oh and either I was terrible with the handling on anything but the skateboard or the handling is just terrible because I was playing the original PS2 version on the PS4. It was instantly easier with the wrestling helmet on but still, having to follow someone halfway across the map is just SERIOUSLY too damn much. They should’ve just had Jimmy meet him there. It would’ve been easier and then I won’t have to go through more hell after I already went through hell during Defender of the Castle, Jealous Johnny, Cook’s Date, Panty Raid, and Paparazzi. The first 2 are ridiculously hard unless you know a way to handle it and the rest are just gross. Bait was hilariously easy for me on the 2nd part of it simply all I did was hide out away from the fight and let the Greasers do their work. Cool thing, Johnny talks to differently after the mission is passed depending on if your the one to knock Gord out for they are. If Johnny and them do it, he calls you a good kid. If they aren’t, he tells you to scream after giving you the money. I think Jimmy shouts out Pete and Zoe because they were worst off then Russel was. Zoe was kicked out of the school because she tried to expose the creepy gym teacher and Pete was easily forgotten by people and looked down upon by even the nerds. He didn’t really have any friends aside from Jimmy and by his own words, Gary, even if Gary did not but bully him on the daily. (Also the hardest boss fight for me is probably Norton simply because of his hammer. Edgar was hilariously easy for me. I had a harder time on the balancing section and all I did was use the shield and one of my melee weapons and then thr pipe)
I'd count Busting In Parts 1 and 2 as separate missions, since when you fail the latter it puts you back into free-roam and there's a mission start corona near the Townies' hideout. I think the "Balls Of Snow" snowball bugs are a result of forcing the game to run at 60/high FPS. I'd also be curious regarding the "hidden missions" in the game (mainly in Chapter 1). They appear in the tasks list. Get To Class needs the player to get to the first Chemistry class within 30 seconds or a restart is forced. Help Peter is a forced errand/mission that occurs at some point. Halloween shows up as two separate missions, itself and Halloween Pranks.
I felt the Greaser challenge feels...out of place while the other challenges have you do something vaguely fitting to their interests (sports for Jocks, Games for nerds, boxing for Preps) it feels ilfitting a race would of been better as they like bikes
All these years that have passed and the many times I’ve played this game, and I never knew you could lock the doors in the Derby fight. I just beat everyone up lol
1:04:35 considering Gary is freaking out after going off his meds I'm pretty sure he just really wanted to beat the shit out of people while having a bit of a manic episode. Everything else about the mission seems way too planned out for Gary to have gotten it all set up while he's in this state. Judging by how he acts as well I'm pretty sure him going off his meds was just a result of his ego getting more inflated as he used Jimmy like a tool and let his paranoia get to him that he could never trust Jimmy. All this to say, you beat up people in the parking lot because he wanted to.
Been playing Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch. Somehow Bullworth feels much more populated than Hogwarts. Christ Almighty is the voice acting bad and the ambient conversations are less immersive than the ones in Oblivion.
I remember being so disappointed with the new “missions” in the scholarship edition, I was obsessed with the original game & being so excited about the new missions & they practically didn’t exist except the Rudy ones.
I can remember the Nerd Challenge being really hard the first time i played it, heck i think i was stuck on it or my brother was. I never think of the worst mission on bully, but i'd say thats the worst
In my honest opinion, _Bully_ is an absolute masterpiece and that Complete Mayhem / Final Showdown is the best mission in the game. With what the story was building up to, there was no way that Rockstar Games could have ended the game any other way. I loved the rioting across the campus, and I also love the final fight with Gary. He was a pushover especially after unlocking all the fighting moves, but I think that was the point as many bullies are usually big talkers but end up being not as tough as they make themselves out to be. At least he was tougher to fight in hand-to-hand combat than Luther was in _The Warriors_ as he was an even bigger pushover. If R* ever makes a _Bully 2_, I don't think that that game's ending could ever beat this one's ending. Couple of side-notes: 1. I really wished R* added a riot cheat into the game. How do you have two missions revolving around teens rioting (well, one of them was really a rumble, but it's almost the same thing) and not have a cheat to have some fun with during normal gameplay? If _GTA_ could have riot cheats for some of their games, why not _Bully_? 2. I'd like to see a similar video made for _The Warriors_ if you ever get a chance to do so.
Approaching the last two in the Pinky at the movies mission is basically catching a gay couple as a teenager in the 2000s. They leave to make it not look like they’re on a date. Another one of those “oh right this game is dated” moments.
That's very much a subjective matter of perspective thing. The game doesn't have a specific time period - it is deliberately an anachronism stew by design (the 50s Greasers, the computers looking like something from the 80s and so on) partly so it appeals to all ages. I wouldn't say a gay couple being embarrassed to be seen dating is unusual, even in this day and age sadly. Depends where you are in the world, because despite some progress, from my experience not every place has the progressive open-mindedness of a Frisco (US) or a Brighton (UK). In some places being LGBTQIA+ in any way is still stigmatised, as I'm sure some players can relate to. The game most definitely isn't dated or homophobic from that point of view, especially considering Jimmy can romance/kiss one boy from each clique.
You are aware Jimmy can make out with guys, right? That's actually a hint at which ones are an option and that doesn't date the game when that was just how things were back then. Homophobia's not celebrated at all.
I wouldn't say the game is dated on the lgbtq representation. Honestly it was ahead of its time since Jimmy is bi and theres so many characters who are implied to be homosexual (not counting the kissable boys) Its never treated as something negative which I think is great.
Oh the bikes definitely ain't scaled because you can do most of them in the go kart or moped and absolutely trash everyone, Always the first two things I do in the game using the glitch to get outside in chapter 1

I wasn’t a huge fan of the biology class because I played the game mostly (as in, the full storyline + all the collectibles) on my Xbox 360 and the joystick is far too slow and used to make completing biology 5 anywhere close to easy. Safe to say that when I got an Xbox One for Christmas this year (along with a Series X controller) I was overjoyed to see 1 minute left on the clock.
Biology with stick drift is what occurs in my nightmares now.
Balls of Snow is bugged in 60 fps, you have to set it back to 30 for it to function
5:17-5:55 I also had a problem with this mission during my most recent playthrough; for me, it was mostly the same thing, and there was even a glitch where I would hit one of the townies with a snowball but it wouldn't register as a hit. I was playing this game on the Series X and after multiple attempts, I finally just decided to use my Xbox 360 and the mission worked fine with no glitches.

Great video, while I was watching it, in my head I was naming the mission names in my head before their title was revealed and 90% of the time I was right lol, I played this game way too many times, it's a masterpiece.
As I was making mental notes about the missions you didn't mention yet in my head, about 60% through I realized you were saving the missions that end their respective chapters for last and I completely agree, those are the best ones and I also agree that the Christmas Pageant was easily the worst.
I was slightly surprised you like Busting In more than Total Mayhem but I'm not complaining, it's a great choice.
For Character Sheets, when you get kicked in the balls, you can get up from the ground within 5 seconds and the bullies will run away while giving you the sheet back, but the 60 FPS patch makes extremely hard and or just broken, luckily it doesn't fail the mission, that would've been a shit softlock.
The correct way to pronounce "Derby" is "DAR-bee." The emphasis is placed on the first syllable, and the 'r' sound is not strongly pronounced. So, it sounds more like "DAH-bee" than "DER-bee." To add another layer of flavour (or confusion depending on your stance) Derbyshire is pronounced: "DAH-bee-shuh" not "sheer
The one mission ehere the traveling was a nightmare for me is Bustin In Part 1.
Particularly when you have to meet Russel at his house (that Jimmy somehow knows is where he lives and where Russel somehow got a police bike) and they decided not only do the cops gotta come for you if you’re not wearing a helmet but you have to FOLLOW Russell halfway across the goddamn map just to get to the 2nd part. Oh and either I was terrible with the handling on anything but the skateboard or the handling is just terrible because I was playing the original PS2 version on the PS4.
It was instantly easier with the wrestling helmet on but still, having to follow someone halfway across the map is just SERIOUSLY too damn much. They should’ve just had Jimmy meet him there. It would’ve been easier and then I won’t have to go through more hell after I already went through hell during Defender of the Castle, Jealous Johnny, Cook’s Date, Panty Raid, and Paparazzi. The first 2 are ridiculously hard unless you know a way to handle it and the rest are just gross.
Bait was hilariously easy for me on the 2nd part of it simply all I did was hide out away from the fight and let the Greasers do their work. Cool thing, Johnny talks to differently after the mission is passed depending on if your the one to knock Gord out for they are.
If Johnny and them do it, he calls you a good kid. If they aren’t, he tells you to scream after giving you the money.
I think Jimmy shouts out Pete and Zoe because they were worst off then Russel was. Zoe was kicked out of the school because she tried to expose the creepy gym teacher and Pete was easily forgotten by people and looked down upon by even the nerds. He didn’t really have any friends aside from Jimmy and by his own words, Gary, even if Gary did not but bully him on the daily.
(Also the hardest boss fight for me is probably Norton simply because of his hammer. Edgar was hilariously easy for me. I had a harder time on the balancing section and all I did was use the shield and one of my melee weapons and then thr pipe)

I'd count Busting In Parts 1 and 2 as separate missions, since when you fail the latter it puts you back into free-roam and there's a mission start corona near the Townies' hideout.
I think the "Balls Of Snow" snowball bugs are a result of forcing the game to run at 60/high FPS.
I'd also be curious regarding the "hidden missions" in the game (mainly in Chapter 1). They appear in the tasks list. Get To Class needs the player to get to the first Chemistry class within 30 seconds or a restart is forced. Help Peter is a forced errand/mission that occurs at some point. Halloween shows up as two separate missions, itself and Halloween Pranks.
I felt the Greaser challenge feels...out of place
while the other challenges have you do something vaguely fitting to their interests (sports for Jocks, Games for nerds, boxing for Preps) it feels ilfitting
a race would of been better as they like bikes

1:04:35 considering Gary is freaking out after going off his meds I'm pretty sure he just really wanted to beat the shit out of people while having a bit of a manic episode.
Everything else about the mission seems way too planned out for Gary to have gotten it all set up while he's in this state.
Judging by how he acts as well I'm pretty sure him going off his meds was just a result of his ego getting more inflated as he used Jimmy like a tool and let his paranoia get to him that he could never trust Jimmy.
All this to say, you beat up people in the parking lot because he wanted to.
Been playing Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch. Somehow Bullworth feels much more populated than Hogwarts. Christ Almighty is the voice acting bad and the ambient conversations are less immersive than the ones in Oblivion.

In my honest opinion, _Bully_ is an absolute masterpiece and that Complete Mayhem / Final Showdown is the best mission in the game. With what the story was building up to, there was no way that Rockstar Games could have ended the game any other way. I loved the rioting across the campus, and I also love the final fight with Gary. He was a pushover especially after unlocking all the fighting moves, but I think that was the point as many bullies are usually big talkers but end up being not as tough as they make themselves out to be. At least he was tougher to fight in hand-to-hand combat than Luther was in _The Warriors_ as he was an even bigger pushover.
If R* ever makes a _Bully 2_, I don't think that that game's ending could ever beat this one's ending.
Couple of side-notes:
1. I really wished R* added a riot cheat into the game. How do you have two missions revolving around teens rioting (well, one of them was really a rumble, but it's almost the same thing) and not have a cheat to have some fun with during normal gameplay? If _GTA_ could have riot cheats for some of their games, why not _Bully_?
2. I'd like to see a similar video made for _The Warriors_ if you ever get a chance to do so.

Approaching the last two in the Pinky at the movies mission is basically catching a gay couple as a teenager in the 2000s. They leave to make it not look like they’re on a date. Another one of those “oh right this game is dated” moments.
That's very much a subjective matter of perspective thing. The game doesn't have a specific time period - it is deliberately an anachronism stew by design (the 50s Greasers, the computers looking like something from the 80s and so on) partly so it appeals to all ages. I wouldn't say a gay couple being embarrassed to be seen dating is unusual, even in this day and age sadly. Depends where you are in the world, because despite some progress, from my experience not every place has the progressive open-mindedness of a Frisco (US) or a Brighton (UK). In some places being LGBTQIA+ in any way is still stigmatised, as I'm sure some players can relate to. The game most definitely isn't dated or homophobic from that point of view, especially considering Jimmy can romance/kiss one boy from each clique.
You are aware Jimmy can make out with guys, right? That's actually a hint at which ones are an option and that doesn't date the game when that was just how things were back then. Homophobia's not celebrated at all.
I wouldn't say the game is dated on the lgbtq representation. Honestly it was ahead of its time since Jimmy is bi and theres so many characters who are implied to be homosexual (not counting the kissable boys) Its never treated as something negative which I think is great.
Bully is easily my favorite game of all time.

Oh the bikes definitely ain't scaled because you can do most of them in the go kart or moped and absolutely trash everyone, Always the first two things I do in the game using the glitch to get outside in chapter 1
