Look along the edges of the rivers for reeds... you haven't seemed to notice them when you've been next to them so far.
Look to the South West of the Crossroads, but not as far as where lightning flashes, for something Hard :)

It may help, when you build your next base, to plan to put chests next to the most likely workstations, for those types of materials used there. Then it'll be easier to remember where you've put things.
