Neupert has come a long way since the old Revival days. I remember well the wars in the '60s and '70s between the Revival and Historical styles of harpsichord making. So glad we won!

The Revival instruments did not look, act, or sound like antique harpsichords, yet it took several years before the Historical style prevailed. Neupert is one of several makers that produced Revival instruments for many years, but now makes harpsichords in the Historical style.

С исполнительской точки зрения отмечу очень хорошую артикуляцию, разнообразную, но ненавязчивую, органичную. Особенно хорошо звучит легато, та певучесть, которую практиковал и и которой учил своих учеников Бах. Это особенно нелёгкий тип артикуляции на клавесине. Тем более приятно слышать так совершенный результат. Браво!

Alway wonderful to hear Bach's music on the instrument it was intended for and performed so beautifully. The mud these harpsichord pieces make on a modern piano is painful for me to listen to. The harmonies on the harpsichord are just fabulous in frequency perfection; I am sure Bach would have wanted his music played on this instrument.

En el video yo no había advertido que el instrumemto utilizado tenía uno doble, hasta que en un determimado momento ví la mano de la concertista que lo utilizaba. Eternal Music does not only need the past, the ancient era, in which it was written, it is "Music forever" because it was "launched" into eternity and, in a certain sense, it does not even belong to the composer who wrote it. Bach's music is as alive to us today as it was in the 18th century, otherwise we wouldn't be playing it. Our time today gives us the privilege of being able to play these works of art out of past eras which would probably disgust us very much in other respects if we lived them concretely and meticulously. / ... I prefer to live today, get to know Bach and all the rest of the wonders of Art that History has granted us and grants us. Because all the past, known well or badly (we can't be sure), is in today.
I love BWV 988, though I never understood the hype surrounding Glenn Gould's interpretations of it. Personally I find his constant humming to be extremely annoying. Besides I think harpsichord is a greatly undervalued instrument for the 988. I have a version by Ottavio Dantone which is my favourite of all interpretations I've heard. Sadly I can't find it here on YT, and I suspect it will be taken down if I do upload it.

I think "never talk......" is a bit too far up himself. I enjoy the music for itself, not to analyse it to bits. That's for musicologists.
