This is the greatest salvation sermon I have ever heard. What a moving, simple, and truthfilled message of the gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May millions be saved through brother Rogers; even as he is with the Lord as we speak. What a true man of God.
Pastor Adrian Rogers preached one of the only sermons on this text that I have heard. The perfect salvation text (Romans 10:1-13) to preach from and is seldom used or presented. We can share our faith with this text and bring the lost to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and be saved.
The greatest "salvation sermons" I ever heard came from occasions in which people who were actually lost became saved. Example after example: the 3,000 on Pentecost, the eunuch, Saul of Tarsus, etc. Of course, those conversions differ from Mr. Rogers's concept of conversion, so naturally he runs to Romans - then winds up with people saying the "Sinner's Prayer".

John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whomsoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It is a conditional gift. The question is, "What are the conditions?" If one reads the Book of Acts without any preconceptions or outside help, he can know the conditions before the sun comes up tomorrow.
I completely concur with this sermon. Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God, and he died for our sins and the Heavenly Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
It is hard to find great teachers like Dr. Rogers in this country today. The preaching is so water-down that so many Christians are being deceived. Most churches are cultural rather than Calvary. Tell the people what they want to hear. God states in His word that He will never change.

@@Kingjamesbible161 There is no passage that says "repentance is automatic". I could just as well assert "water baptism" is automatic. After all, that's exactly what those Jews in Acts 2 were told: to repent of their sins and be baptized. They had already heard the body of Peter's sermon - the first sermon preached after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus - and were cut to the heart by it.
Adrian Rogers is a man who has much good to say. He is a fine orator. In many of his statements he speaks the truth. However, I believe he falls short of telling his audience all they need to do to be saved by grace. Read it for yourself. Rom. 10:9 and 10 are true statements, but they are not the complete will of God regarding salvation. God wants us to repent(II Peter 3:9; Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38). God commands all men everywhere to repent says Peter. That, too, is a true statement, and we can't leave that out of the Gospel message. One other one....baptism for the remission of sins. "Baptism doth now also save us"(I Peter 3:21), and that is a true statement. Why would we leave out the very submissive act where God's grace is extended and Jesus' blood cleanses us? Take a compilation of all that God said about salvation in the Gospel message. Belief, repentance, confession, a then be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins. Check these verses(Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3,4; Acts 8:36-38;). We cannot be saved outside of Christ and baptism puts us into Him(Galatians 3:26,27; Romans 6:3,4) and if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away(II Cor. 5:17). Do what Saul did..."Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins"(Acts 22:16).
The reality is, God created many, knowing very well their destination. The Bible is full of predestination, if you read it. Salvation is a supernatural work of God. Therefore, God can save any of whom he chooses. To say he cannot, is to doubt God's unlimited power. However, his WILL to save, is what needs to be considered. He loves us so deeply and dearly, he will let us leap into Hell, and not save us. Adrian Rogers has many wonderful sermons, but on this point he misses the mark.
I have considered this issue for a long, long time. I can honestly say I have an open mind to both sides. I also find it very difficult to believe that I could have the say, in whether or not somebody goes to heaven or hell. And what I mean by that is choosing to witness to them, or choosing not to. I don’t understand many things along with the great commission. All I know is God calls us to share the gospel with those that he lays upon our heart to share with. I’m just going to do that and leave the rest in his hands.
But I can say, I certainly lean in the direction that you stated. It also caught my attention when Pastor Rogers said that. I listen to a lot of John MacArthur he teaches predestination and he’s also big into evangelism I admire that.
How can a person who is a Christian sin against God. " Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (1John 3:4).
