Thank’s for the lesson w/needed advice👍🏻
You make it sound so easy lol! Thank you for sharing the links for the tools needed, that's a great help!
Happy to help! You got this Jen! Thanks for watching!
Great job schooling people like me on how it's done 👍
Thanks for watching!
My 2019 has a fill plug (7 or 8mm hex, if I remember correctly) diagonal to the right of the drain plug, just FYI for the years stated in the title.
The authorized dealer in the area where I live uses 75w90 and I have not had any problems, despite the owner’s manual registered as 75w140. Why is there this difference? Could it cause a problem in my next 2017 Ram approved by the dealer?
They sell gallon jugs as well. Probably best option
My 2014 calls for 75W140 in the rear diff
My 2013 does too.
2012 also
My 2015 calls for 75w85 gl5
Because like me , you got them 3.92 Gear Ratios 😎 better for towing . Worse gas mileage. Makes your vehicle quicker off the line though 😎
@JW-jc8kr Pretty sure mines 3.55. Sticker shows stock 3.29, then Outdoorsmam package adds 3:55 along with HD Transmission and Engine cooler.
Muss man den Deckel nicht öffnen um den Rest vom Öl abzulassen?
Love this channel!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Doesnt the rear use 75w140
Thats what im reading, the front takes 90, the back is 140
@GenX Rising I found that out after I changed mine, not all models come with a rear slip differential.
@@TheStudderman Mine does not have an LSD and it calls for 140
@@Tool0GT92 did you have to add the slip additive ?
@The Studdering Truth I checked my build sheet I have an open diff so no
how do I find out if I have a limited slip differential?
If you call a dodge/ram dealer parts dept with your vin they can tell you if your limited slip or not and if you need 75-90 or 75-140 weight oil.
@718600 called my local dealer they said my 2015 calls for 75w85 gl5. Now I'm doubting myself
@@edgarmendez8505if you have 3.92 gears and a limited slip differential, you need 75w85 in the front diff and 75w90 in the rear with additive
Wonder do 2009 dodge Laramie have that same drain plug
My 2009 does not have the drain plug.
Which Additive did you use?
Is it okay to use high temp rtv on the paper gasket?
Good job sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
I can’t get the drain plug off. It’s really rusted on. I have a small leak so there is oil & I added WD40, nothing. Any ideas?
I would try heating up the surrounding metal. Thanks for watching!
Is RTV on the drain plug a must?
I'd suggest it! But you could probably get away with not using it. Thanks for watching!
@@2carpros can I use lock tight?
Use Teflon tape
kind scary that only a lil plug is holding all the fluid in Ram should at least have a bolt put in
Right? Thanks for watching!
manufacturer recommends 90-140"2 and 1/3 or 2 and 3/4?" those are a hop-skip-jump away from each other....fill it until it's full: check.
Dealership was trying to charge me 300 for this wtf 🤣
Yep. You gotta watch them! Thanks for watching!
Seems real high, but we're they taking the cover off and checking the internals too, or just a fluid swap?
Yes those shops will bleed us dry any chance they get lol
That's ridiculous. Hopefully it included an actual flush at least? But still.
