This is crazy. Literally yesterday I was searching up white and black living room ideas because I love all white and gold accents and plants. My boyfriend loves all black. Agreeing on a living room set has been impossible. I NEEDED THIS!!!
So touching to me to see both peoples' styles honored and how happy they were. Partnership is about compromise and cooperation and synergy, and each partner's styles merged together in harmony are like a visual reflection of that.

A lot of these comments are just "I'm disappointed, it wasn't enough industrial." And no hate, I do agree, but they tried and they did better than I could, probably better than those people who comment that, unless they have secret careers as interior designers.
How will the channel ever better itself if they're not aware of genuine criticisns? No one is being mean. But if her weakness is industrial, mauve she needs to look into it more so she can do the best for her clients and viewers.

oh, I made curtain rods from electrical pipe too. Love them. I sprayed mine burnished gold. I'm getting ready to make my new bathroom sink faucets from the pipe also. so much you can do with it. Love the room...beautiful and the artwork too
This doesn't really seem like an equal fusion of both their styles. Even the wall, which was supposed to be "industrial" had more of his girlfriend's style. The room was of course beautifully done, but I don't think you nailed the main objective: to have 50% glam and 50% industrial style incorporated in the room. *Edit: 40% industrial, 40% mid-century, and 20% glam. Although I still don't think they had enough industrial
I agree. There wasn't much industrial in that room to be honest. I think they should have just left the wine rack in wood and just added more "glam" touches. it looks great, of course.
@@LordoftheSties the bar racks, ruben's chair, and the bar stools, the metal on the coffee table, the metal lamp, the industrial curtain rods, were all touches of industrial. See that's the thing, unless you 100% stick to the industrial theme you will overlook the touches. Industrial furniture are very minimalist so that's probably why you only see 10%.
IKR? When she said the wall behind the 'wine storage' was going to be dark gray, I was thinking more along the lines of charcoal gray. Then when it showed Joey putting it together and I saw that the wall was a medium gray at best, I was all, wth? That's NOT dark gray. It's like 2 shades darker than the rest of the walls.
As much as I LOVE this reno i'm struggling catching onto that industrial vibe. It's very white and i would have expected that living space to be a bit more cushy with raw industrial vibes

I'm not so fond of random "accessorize", even though it looks amazing in the end. Having knick-knacks seems fun at first, but after some time you don't even pay attention to them and they become a dusting nightmare. However, I absolutely LOVE when Mr. Kate includes a FUNCTIONAL piece of furniture like these convertible ottomans! Such a great option for small spaces!

I know wine bottles on a shelf are cool and everything... BUT you're suppose to store them horizontally (so that the liquid makes contact with the cork) and never in direct sunlight if you want them to last and taste good in a few years. You'll end up with vinegar in a bottle, with a cork that breaks into pieces when you try to open it. You could buy cheaper bottles to put on the shelf and store properly those you care about.
Guys, this is one of the best rooms you've ever done, wow. I love every single thing in it. At first I thought "all that white, what is she thinking???" but it turned out gorgeous! I love it love it love it.

I know wine bottles on a shelf are cool and everything... BUT you're suppose to store them horizontally (so that the liquid makes contact with the cork) and never in direct sunlight if you want them to last and taste good in a few years. You'll end up with vinegar in a bottle, with a cork that breaks into pieces when you try to open it.
You could buy cheaper bottles to put on the shelf and store properly those you care about.
