    Liz. I have been following you, and your staff for a while now. Hoping the cost of these treatments come down so I can visit one of your treatment centres, and utilize this technology. I am turning 50 this summer. I want to live long enough to enjoy the next level of longevity medicine, and hopefully live healthy for as long as I can possibly live. I truly appreciate everything you, and the anti aging scientists are doing for the future of humanity.

      do you eat a whole-food vegan diet? or at least a whole food diet in which you minimize animal products? animal products have been linked in several studies to the leading diseases like CVD, cancer, diabetes

      We are looking forward to the price coming down as well. Sadly COVID has forced the price of gene therapy up almost double as the vaccines use some of the same reagents.

    I love how different kinds of people will benefit in different ways... athletic performance, appearance, or maintenance/recovery of health for the sick/elderly. Almost everyone benefits. And muscle burns calories, so contributes to weight loss. Re. aging, everyone knows about bone loss, but muscle loss... esp. skeletal... is a related problem, so I'm glad you're talking about this, and are working on it. I'll be signing up. : ) After genetic counseling......

    I look at the comments sections of these videos, and it's both encouraging and depressing to me. Below this video are people who know. People who know they and everyone else, will die without treatment, but that there's now hope where there wasn't before. You can see the panic in what they write, and it's impossible to blame them, but it's also painful to see how panicked, how personal, the desperation is for many. It's easy to understand why so many people cling to religions in the face of something like this, upon the realization that we're only now clawing away from certain abyss. That everyone who came before us worked so hard, just so that we could have a little comfort before we go, and now, only now, are we starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
    There are other companies and organizations looking into this technology, and there are a couple video essays which come to mind which address this, the ones from CPG Grey (th-cam.com/video/C25qzDhGLx8/w-d-xo.html) and Kurzegast (th-cam.com/video/GoJsr4IwCm4/w-d-xo.html) in particular. And then there's you, a beautiful, but more importantly, youthful looking, but also incredibly intelligent woman. Who could easily come across as intimidating, as a part of a new class of elites out of something like Gattaca, but you don't. You dare look at us and say that death isn't normal, to laugh and cry with us, even to be awkward and vulnerable on camera.
    In the face of such a realization of hope, it's inevitable that those that become aware of it will look up and demand, beg, and plead for faster results, better results, cheaper results, no matter what you say. Even though you've made it clear, time after time, your only desire is to make this as accessible as possible, they are all afraid. They are afraid that it won't be on time, that something, anything, will get in the way of this. They have trouble believing it could be true, because it sounds like a fantasy, they have trouble believing someone wouldn't keep this to themselves, no matter if you swear up and down that you want this for the world.
    There's a sense among some that the person who does this would have to be immoral, you're playing God, you're defying God, working towards a Transhumanist nightmare in which we create monsters. Anyone who watches you can see that's not it at all, but the very idea of something like this being reality challenges so many of our preconceptions that it stirs the imagination in all the ways I'm sure you're already aware of.
    Thank you for holding on to what makes you human in the face of this, not for working on the cure, because you need it as much as we do. Both for yourself and your loved ones. But for remembering that humans are more important than we think sometimes, not just desperate creatures fighting to survive, but people. We're capable of love and creativity and friendship. And with any luck, we'll all live long enough to get to know one another.

      Nobody depressed here. We also know that treatment or no treatment, we’re gonna die. No matter what. So why worry? To “cling to religion” is about the worst thing you can do. One should practice the religion of no religion. There you will find liberation. Some cling to the past while others hope for the future.. the past never was and the future doesn’t exist. There is only the now.. now pass that fckn doobie this way! 😂

      @@bioviva-science Pretty expensive especially when you consider outside of germ line edits you can't be sure how many, or even if any, cells will have their genes altered. You couldn't even use gene sequencing as QA because how would you know which cells to extract DNA from? If you knew precisely which cells were altered you wouldn't need it for QA in the first place.

      Lmfao oh shut up. The only reason you can afford ANYTHING is because rich people financed it's cost reduction through usage. EVERY new technology is for rich people first. They drive the cost down, and then less and less wealthy people can afford it. That's why people on food stamps can afford to have 4k TVs and Cell Phones.

    Can someone with homozygous myostatin deficiency store enough fat mass to live without eating for several days or even weeks or would they not survive? Since they are people with a tendency to have muscle rather than fat, that's why I'm asking.

    • @bioviva-science
      @bioviva-science  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need both fat and muscle for a healthy body.

  • @VladimirMinkin
    @VladimirMinkin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does more muscle also means more cells division, and more cells division means less telomeres, shorter lifespan? Also does more cells means more oxidative stress and work for the body to clean and reduce it?

If not you probably don't and you look very young and on one of your other videos you spoke your age. I look forward to your contact.
