Welcome back to my channel, today I got for you some exclusive clips of this astonishing De Tomaso P72 having fun on the F1 Monza racetrack.
The De Tomaso P72 is a sports car manufactured by Italian automobile manufacturer De Tomaso. Based on the underpinnings of the Apollo Intensa Emozione, the car is meant to be a homage to the De Tomaso P70 prototype racing car.
The De Tomaso brand was acquired by Hong Kong-based IdealVentures in 2014, the same company who had acquired German automobile manufacturer Gumpert. Under the new management, work was started to revive the brand after a failed attempt in 2009. After an advertising campaign based on the company's history and some teaser videos of the new car in development under the code name "Project P", the company introduced the new sports car at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new car, called the P72 uses a carbon fibre monocoque chassis constructed to LMP1 standards and is based on the Apollo Intensa Emozione. Unlike the Intensa Emozione, the car is meant to be a grand tourer.
Designed by Jowyn Wong of Wyn Design, the exterior design is based on the P70 racing car and the LeMans race cars of the 1970s and combines modern elements with the classic shape. The exterior also features a top mounted exhaust system.
The interior is upholstered in diamond stitched leather, and has opulent instrumentation featuring polished copper elements, along with an open linkage gearshift lever finished in copper of the manual transmission installed in the car. The interior also has circular analogue and digital instrumentation design to recall the car interiors of the 1960s and 1970s.
In October 2019, De Tomaso revealed that the P72 will be powered by a 5.0 litre supercharged Ford Coyote V8 engine featuring a Roots-type supercharger manufactured by American tuning company Roush Performance. The engine is a result of a technical collaboration between both companies. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Power output figures were not disclosed as the engine is still in development stage.
72 units of the P72 are planned to be produced. This move was made to ensure the exclusivity of the car. The car will go under homologation but De Tomaso have assured that the car will remain the same as the pre-production model shown at Goodwood.
Enjoy the video ;)
#Detomaso #p72 #sound - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Should have kept the V12 in the production version. Sounds incredible. The Huayra R has a competitor.
this sounds better than huayra R. that was just loud. some times unpleasant. this has a better sound. easier on the ears. for me atleast. like the old zondas. they had better sounds
P900 is v12 I think
@@RollsRoyceCEOit better be v12
@@como_que_no5 for now it's a v10 but there's a v12 option in 2024
Huayra is on another level.
Absolutely glorious. An EV will never, ever move my soul like this sound track.
Evs are not for moving soul, it's for saving soul
@@dumbledork_4543Saving your soul by supporting child slavery?
Oh my life, I'm stunned 😲 this has to be the most visually-spectacular supercar design in decades. Brutally masculine, using only minimal clean, curvaceous lines; with zero clutter.
Sounds 👌 too!
This car is a timeless beauty. It looks good now and it will still look good 50 years from now. I know they are replacing the engine with a V8 but that V12 sure sounds amazing.
I've only just come across this car, stunned by it's beauty, turned on by it's V12! I saw your comment and almost broke down in tears!
@@markscarborough1018 Yeah, me too. I don't know why they are going to the V8. I believe it is a Roush V8. The one thing that comes to mind is emissions. It might be harder to have the V12 pass emissions and the other harsh regulations than the V8. On the plus side, with the V8, the car should be lighter and a Roush V8 is a really good power plant.
@@StandingUpForBetter Yeah the Roush is a beast, but ffs look at it.... it subconsciously lets you know it has a V12 before you hear / read the spec! If Gordon Murray really appreciates design, then he should license the use of his Cosworth V12 as reward for such work.
@@markscarborough1018 Agreed. It does looks like it needs a V12. That Cosworth V12 would be sweet in the P72 if they have to get rid of the current engine.
I was just about to ask, because this definitely doesn't sound like V8
I love that 60s styled racers are making a comeback. Such curvy beauty.
De Tomaso still exists? Pantera is history withouth end. New one looks perfect, sounds perfect too. 👏👏
worked on 2 pantera's,race cars, upgraded the roll cages in them. good looking car.
the chiense brought it back
Amen brother
That has got to be one of the most beautiful cars if not the most beautiful car of the 2020's so far and possibly the 21st century. That is incredible.
The curves on this thing are just FANTASTIC
but a very old concept;
This is a Ferrari 330 P4 with some modifications...
@@ilmelangolo AND?! Still miles better looking than a Senna, C8 Corvette or any of the over-exaggerated super and hypercars like the modern Lambos or the tasteless craps of Apollo. The list goes on...
It is pretty sad to see youngsters these days (even a lot of people over 30) thinking about true beauty like it becomes obsolete after time, which is simply NOT TRUE!!! ☝😠
@@staLkerhu I'm not saying that "beauty becomes obsolete", and certainly the Senna is horrible (its excuse is it has been designed for a specific purpose). But at the same time you cannot design a replica of an old car and propose it as it's a new founding (the Ferrari P4/5 built by Pininfarina for James Glickenhaus was pretty pathetic too). You need to risk and find something new and equally beautiful. The LaFerrari, the Monza Sp1/Sp2, the Daytona Sp3, the Ford GT, the Chiron are all very good examples. I think the Miura is still one the most beautiful supercar ever, but if someone (even Lamborghini itself) would produce a replica of that, I would consider it a bit silly. We need to be brave and move forward. Marcello Gandini did it, and he completely changed the design vocabulary of the '60s.
@@ilmelangolo and who said it is a completely new design? Maybe the manufacturer, and? All of them are lying all the time like there is no tomorrow, big surprise. 🤷♂
Also it is not a sin to revive something, so those who can afford it don't need to buy a terribly old car, which can be extremely difficult to drive and can easily fail any time. Then you need to bring it to a master, who can bring it back to life for crazy money. Sounds like a dream. 👌
@@staLkerhu Of course anyone can build and buy whatever they want. I'm just saying it is not a particularly original/brave/creative project.
The sound that car makes, I’m gonna need a little bit of time alone in privacy after watching this video 😉
🙈🤣
V12 perfection!
There are some car enthusiasts who say that the original De Tomaso Pantera (manufactured from 1971 to 1992) was the ultimate car, even better than Ferrari or Lamborghini. Its rarity makes it even more special.
This sounds more like there's a v12 in there
There is
It is lol
@rahulm.s8655Yep!😎👍 The production cars will have Roush tuned Ford V8's!
I wish Clarkson was doing car riviews still. Imagine the movie he would have made about that sound, design, interior. About the passion, the soul and the 0 Fs given.
I have never seen such a car. De Tomaso has created perfection. There are no lines, just fluidity . Go to the 1:00 mark and look at the beauty. Luv the Exhaust above the before the rear spoiler, keeping it in a modern classic style. The sounds !!!11
i know nothing about this car but i almost had a tear watching this, this is what an exotic car should be. I have no doubt it was made by and with passion.
My eyes can't move fast enough
my god that's a lot of sooth on that tail
That wonderfful machine!😂😂😂
The flowing curves of the body looks both aerodynamic and beautiful. The high reving v12 sounds exciting, but I still like the sound of a high performance v8 over anything else. A car like that with a gt350 engine would be wild.😊
Best looking hyper car to date
The most beautiful car 😍
it sounds like the road legal version of the Huayra R 0:06
Looks like a car straight out of the Speed Racer universe
I know the styling is retro but that doesnt stop it being one of the best looking supercars around at the moment.
What a beautiful beast!!
This is an amazing sound ❤❤
Literally the old f1 v10
Incredible, the sound, the beauty , amazing !!
That car is a spectacular masterpiece.
This car is fucking BRUTAL.
This is why the V12 should stay for much longer.
Sounds like F1 - magnifique!
That sounds CRAZY. Love it!
One of my favourites auto designs
What a work of art. It also makes beautiful music. Very nice.
I think this is the ultimate supercar, how can this be beaten in sound, looks???
Absolutely beautiful ! Got me blushing
Simply Incredible
AMAZING CONTENTS!
Tax fraud or not, I love this thing
What tax fraud ?
@BattistaAnniversario No, I mentioned the fact that De Tomaso and Apollo have recently been involved in some tax evasion related issues
@@Necro-s Instead of spending all 100% of those taxes before raising them, they keep wasting our tax money and use the excuse of "lol, no money left" to keep raising taxes. Hence, all taxes are theft, so I don't care about tax evasion.
@@Necro-swhatever they did its nowhere near the fraud and theft our Governments are involved in.
@@Necro-s taxes is a way of stealing peoples money, taxes should be voluntary, NEVER mandatory
Goodness Gracious what a sound!
even the starter motor sounds epic on this thing 👌👌
I love the design. Awesome
Speed racer vibes. Spritle and chim chim love it.
Absolutely unexpected ! This is definitely on par with the Huayra R... just wow
Oh my Lord that is a stunning car! This is like a hot wheels car come to life! It's brilliant!
This is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Now thats a supercar!!!
Soo good to this such an incredible hypercar driven how it was intended to be
Love the styling, and freakin' hell, it sounds angry!
Bellissimo sound 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Que bello sonido, por Dios !!!!
That racecar drivetrain sounds like its going to be a pain in the ass to drive on the road.
Una delle auto piu' belle degli ultimi 20 anni.
Anche gli interni sono strepitosi, una vera antagonista della pagani.
Si, concordo, ma è semplicemente una copia modernizzata di una Ferrari 330 P4.
that is beautiful
P4 Inspired👌🏽
Absolutely alien car 🥶
THNKS SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO.... A MEN CAR today its rare
Yes the Apollo Intensa Emozione v12's is absolutely the best V12 out there, should've kept it
Which is a tuned Ferrari V12...
Fantastic 🙉
Why this car reminds me of the Ferrari P34, but with more modern looks
Semplicemente fantastica
Flawless!
Christina Hendricks in car form. Stunning.
The P72 sounds insane! It sounds like a 2000's Formula 1 car!
Reminds me of the LOLA What a Beauty!
A lot of hypercars out there but this one actually lives up to the word "hyper" in every aspect. This and the Koenigsegg Jesko takes a close second.
Love
Wow! What a BEAUTIFUL car, and sounds amazing too! Classic, yet timeless styling. Well done! There isn't ANYTHING that sounds as amazing as a V12 at speed!
Cool 😎
Looks like a hot wheels. Crazy cool
I was thinking the same, this would be a perfect Matchbox or Hotwheels car.
i have fallin in love
O. M. G.
I really want this car wow is it amazing 👏 😍 ❤
And then De Tomaso❤
Wow!
Wunderschön
DeTomaso? of Pantera fame? An instant classic out the box! Can hear what must be some individual fluted stacks over intake ports, tuned curly cue exaust, straight cut gear everything, gear drive timing, tansmission gears. If there is a car heaven, this one would be a shoe-in. For one of Car Kings, royal horn musician players! There are others that come to mind, but I"ll let this one. Have its moment.
ah want a hundred of them , aye !
Alejandro de Tomaso was a genius. May he rest in peace 🙏🏼
🇦🇷
Just awesome.
Sounds amazing.
Looks beautiful.
Not even interested in its Nurburgring time......
You thought that was a V12 engine but its not, its a 5.0 Ford Flat Plane crank supercharged V8 that has a 8-1 equal lenght headers.
Its amazing how a 8-1 equal lenght American V8 produce a V12 sound like.
Nope, it's a V12. Most of their "prototypes" still have a V12 in them. There have also been some V8s, but those don't sound like this.
Ferrari V12! Same as the Apollo IE. The production version will have the Coyote V8.
Huh? So there's a V12 optional for this thing? I see.
@@ryanc00p3r3 Not that we know. These prototypes have a V12 (and a sequential), because they are basically rebodied versions of the Apollo IE. The production cars are all supposed to have a V8 and a manual. Although that might all be academical at this point, as the project has basically gone up in flames recently, with the Capricorn Group (which was developing the car) suing De Tomaso for unpaid bills, and halting development. Which is a shame because the car is visually quite spectacular.
@@ryanc00p3r3 It was planned that the V12 from Apollo IE would feature in the P72 but the automaker changed their decision afterwards and these prototypes are the only one's that have these V12's.
Oh my 👀
Meu deus do céu mais coisa mais linda desse mundo adore
How does something so perfect exist🤤🤤🤤🤤
lol the true speed racer car ^^
this is a f1 v12 engine sound amazing I like it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Reminds me of the Lola T70 coupe.
Car model look good but I never thought it's sound engine so damn good
That’s reminds me the Lola Aston DBR1-2.
What F1 should sound like today
The filming looks gamey.. graphics looks good tho haha
I don't know what the hell this is, but *I like it*
Speed Racer !
Wasn't the smoothest departure from the pit @ 0:48. Looks like he figured it out at 2:30.
Was trying to get some wheelspin, but launch control and tc stopped me :(
@@hugodesad how you end up in this :D i mean to drive THIS CAR :D congrats man my dream
This is the Ferrari that Ferrari never built.
VERRRY reminiscent of the P4
Amazing superb wonderful
However will we ever see a road version of a Le mans winning car?
Those cars easily reach 350 kmph and are very fast on track
De tomato… you’ll never read it the same again … hahaha
This car is stunning. Looks a lot like the Ferrari P4/5 which is a take on Ferrari 330 P3. but more like the P4/5 which a one of one.
And here I am thinking the de tomaso went extinct lmao
What rpm is that running?
very cool car I'm not sure if the exhaust would be street legal in california though 😂😂
Quando ha girato il pomeriggio????
