    Humble opinion; Honda needs to offer diff lock and power steering options for these. Like in their atv line up, Honda could do a standard model, an eps model, and a deluxe model with power steering and diff lock. Keep the base for those that don't want or need the extras. Oh, and add some storage somewhere and put center caps on the dang wheels.

    I love my Pioneer 520. I don't need power steering or diff lock, it would just add unnecessary cost. It would be nice to have a standard locking glove box, like the aftermarket ones. I also wish 4th/5th gears were taller for more speed and lower rpms.

      Glad to hear your loving yours! They're about as bulletproof as they come and being able to get in and out of tiny spots makes them a lot more fun at times than their larger counterparts.
      Oh yeah, not everyone needs or wants EPS or a diff lock so it'd be nice to see them offer those features on a separate variant and they could call it an "EPS" or "Deluxe" trim level like they do with the Pioneer 700 / 1000 models and still offer up the existing 520 as a cheaper alternative.
      You know, I always forget about the 500 / 520 not having a proper glove box! Thankfully there are a few very good options on that front but it should be a standard feature. I know the cabin is small so there's not a lot of room to add additional storage BUT this is Honda we're talking about, they could find a way to incorporate more storage options in these 500 / 520 machines.
      I like your thinking on the gearing too for 4-5th. Having enough power and gearing to be able to cruise comfortably at least 45-50ish mph without it sounding like it's fixing to bounce off the rev limiter would be nice.

      @@HondaProKevin The way the aftermarket Choogbox glove box bolts to an already existing tab, and with how conveniently placed that tab is, I suspect they initially intended to include a glove box but scrapped it to reduce cost.

      ​@HondaPro Kevin a Pioneer 520 that goes 50mph sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Even at 38mph top speed with the short wheel base it feels like plenty.

    Front locking diff is a must. Power steering as an option. Waited 8 years before my purchase. Love the dump box and red fenders and side panel for 2023.

    I ordered a 520 pioneer before the changes came out . The new colours are cool 😎 . Waiting for mine 👏🏽

      Heck yeah, congrats on the new Pioneer 520! I'm with you there bud, loving the new color choices. Honda has been filling a lot of 2022 orders with 2023 units so you may end up with a 2023. Hopefully you don't have to wait too much longer though!

      @@HondaProKevin we assume it will be a 2023 , I just got a 2023 rancher as well , but here in Canada the site has only been showing pricing for 2022 models, but I’m excited for the new units to arrive. I’m assuming when I went to the dealer to pre-order they were going by the Canadian site which only had two colour options available since the 23 models weren’t showing on the site yet at the time. I pre-ordered a gray one but I think the new colours for the 23 models are a lot better Considering they only offered me two choices based on the 2022 Canadian models

    Definitely need a diff lock option.... also would be nice if the 518cc motor from the 520 was used in the 500's body style as well.

    I would like to see another model with power steering & a locking differential but leave the base model. More color on the body panels looks really good i think

      My thoughts too bud! Add EPS and a diff lock and call it a "Deluxe" trim or something along those lines like with the rest of the Pioneer lineup and leave the existing 520 as a base model for those that don't care about those features and just want a cheaper and more basic package. Oh yeah, the colored panels definitely go a long way in freshening it up a bit!

    I’m in south East Tennessee I went to 2 different Honda dealers on 8-24-24 these dealers are completely out of the Honda 500 and 520 pioneers. One dealer said that he can’t get either of these the other dealer has one coming but doesn’t know when. Just wondering why are these 2 units so hard to get? Any idea? Thanks for the great videos.

    It seems like Honda does well with SxS sales so I can understand so many options. But I would love to see some Honda go karts in the 5k range. I think the average person doesn't have 10k-20k to spend on a SxS. They are cool tho and would love to be able to afford one.

      Oh yeah, that's something we've talked about over the years as pricing continues to rise and rise. Honda could do it, no doubt about it but it might be difficult to pull off manufacturing something at that price point where they're pumping out almost all of their ATV / SxS models in SC. It wouldn't have to have to the latest tech or most horsepower etc, just something basic and simple. It's been proven in their motorcycle lineup that people will line up to buy cheap motorcycles, because they're cheap and I'd bet they would do the same with a go kart in the 5k range.
      A lot of these new toys are nice but with prices continuing to rise and the cost of living shooting up astronomically without most people's pay following suit, cheaper alternatives are definitely needed if they want the off-road segment to continue to grow.

    I have my P500 on order. Ordered and left a large deposit in mid January. Can't hardly wait for mine too get here. I ordered it in the olive green. I hope I get the new darker green color. Looks very nice. I am 71 and feel like a kid at Christmas waiting to open my presents. Keep up the great work with this site. I always look for your TH-cam videos.

It's hard to beat the excitement of picking up a new toy and like you said, definitely brings back some of those feelings of being a kid at Christmas - nothing better! Judging by the way things are going right now, I'd wager that you'll end up receiving the new color.

They are spam accounts that don't have my username but are using my profile picture to try and trick people into texting some odd number etc. It's a sad situation to where that's happening more and more to TH-camrs, to try and trick their viewers into some sort of scam. I try to delete them as fast as possible but sometimes it's hard to keep up with them, so if it doesn't have my username next to it, just ignore it ;)

    Where can I get one(Pioneer 520). Nothing available around Green Bay, WI. All dealers have “wait lists” for whatever Honda “allocates” them, despite those dealers advertising them being on “in-stock/coming soon” lists.

    Getting rid of the 12 inch stock rim and going to a 14 would be nice too. There’s not a lot of good tire options for 12 inch rims

    The pioneer 520 needs a diff lock. The P700 need either a low range or a transmission like the P520 with the super low gear.

      100%! They could throw a diff lock and EPS at it and call it a "EPS" or "Deluxe" trim model like they've done with some of the others for those that don't mind paying the extra $$ and still offer up the existing setup as a cheaper alternative.
      You're spot on with the Pioneer 700 gearing too! This has been a common request out of people since day one with this platform and it's still surprising to me that Honda hasn't addressed it at all. Yes, it's technically not a massive deal for most people out there but it's something that turns a good amount of people off and then people read about it etc from those people and it snowballs from there, even if that person would reading said comments / reviews would've been just fine with the stock gearing the way it is now. I think they've milked that Rincon drivetrain package enough though for the Pioneer 700 and need to focus on a better replacement but the downfall to that though, it's just going to bring higher price tags. It's still a great machine at the end of the day for what it is but Honda could stand to update a few things no doubt about it.

      It'll be interesting to see how long they keep some of these around, depending on their sales etc as in the past Honda has been known for sticking with the same colors for year after year but here lately they've been mixing it up and bit and keeping things fresh with new flavors being thrown in the mix.

    I have a 2020 700 deluxe.If it had a better,more gear transmission or a low range it'd be super.I can say the power steering is "wonderful" and diff lock too.

    How about just making them more available. It took me over a year to locate a 520 over 3 states, and every dealer had a wait list.

      I'm with you there bud, they could offer a diff lock and EPS and call it an "EPS" or "Deluxe" model etc while still offering the cheaper variant for those that may not need them and want the cheaper price of entry.
      More comfy seats definitely wouldn't hurt but I could see a lot of backlash over getting rid of the bench seat as a lot of people love having that. With that being said though, a lot of people would like buckets in there like the Talon so it's a hard call. Another reason why I don't think I'd want to be on the team making some of these calls lol, as no matter what - you're going to have some unhappy people.

      No it’s not really but if you drive a machine with it and then drive it you definitely notice not having it.

      Eric, like Mark said, they're not difficult by any means but once you get spoiled by one with EPS - you're done for lol!
      It's the same story with ATVs. I used to always tell people when they asked me if it was "necessary", that it's really not BUT if you don't want to regret not buying your new ATV with EPS, do NOT ride your buddies with EPS otherwise you'll kick yourself. And sure enough, I couldn't tell you how many ATVs I sold back in the day without EPS, where they'd ride somebody's with EPS and it made them want to trade theirs in.
      Back to the Pioneer 520 though, it's easy and even if you're in 4wd as it has a LSD so it's not tough to turn BUT when Honda throws a diff lock on this platform then it'll be a different ballgame once it's locked and EPS will come in even more handy. It all depends on the person though. I don't think it's a necessity but it'd be nice in some cases and I'd bet $$ people would pay the extra $$ for one with EPS due to the popularity of aftermarket EPS kits. Honda could make a "Deluxe" trim of the 520 and offer it with a diff lock and EPS and in return, keep that money in house instead of leaving it on the table for aftermarket companies.

      Appreciate the input! Those are details I dive into on the model reviews you'll find on my channel, whereas this video was just covering the new announcement for this model year. That's why I touched on colors etc as that is what changed but the nitty gritty specs / features etc are covered in the review videos ;)

    No diff lok on the honda , had to go with polaris ranger 500 cause true 4wd makes hauling wood in the hills a breeze

    Stop the price gouging would be nice...everybody's following the vehicle dealerships on gouging.......that's my wish😊 until then, I'll never own any ATV 😢... UTV dealer in my town has a razor side by side for $80k.....more than our house😮...yeah get ya some of a divorce signing papers on that ride😅😅😅😅😅

    Ok, im not knocking Honda.. ive been riding my 2009 Foreman trouble free since new. But dont ya think a 520 single cylinder for a SXS is just a little underpowered?

      Trust me, you're not alone with that thought bud! But... on the flipside, there are just as many people that don't think they're underpowered and suit their needs perfectly. That's why Honda has been striving to grow their SxS model lineup more more, as they've seen it's not a "one size fits all" kind of thing.
      With that being said though, I think almost every Honda "is just a little underpowered" like you said and some of them are a lot more than a "little" underpowered lol. But that's just my opinion though as I know a lot of people would never consider them to be underpowered, again showing that we're all different at the end of the day when it comes to what makes us happy with certain aspects of these machines. It's a slippery slope on trying to keep everyone happy that's for sure.

      520 has plenty of power for everything and the transmission is real gears not a belt....so more usable power and can tow 1000 lbs.....if you need more power than a 520....you should step up to a 700 or 1000 Pioneer.....why have one size fit all?
