literally the perfect tutorial!!!!! your instructions were clear and you didn't go too fast or cut out important steps like other tutorials 😊 and you showed a clear view of your machine and hands which made it easy to follow along with you. thank you!! you really helped me out 👍🧡
I just wanted to say thank you for this! I had everything set up with the exception of the pull down lever being behind the plastic tab on the foot. I had it in front of it because I didn’t know better and all I was sewing was giant knots! I really appreciate your help.
This video was so helpful and well done because you took the instructions nice and slow. I was always intimidated by making buttonholes but your tutorial fixed that. Thank you so much.
Thank you for showing me, as the instructions didn’t say any of that! My thread is causing it to get all knotted up - so mad - I will keep trying! But, you are amazing!!!!! Kudos to you!
Hi, this video was very helpful! Thank you!. I cannot figure out how to set the machine so that my thread tension is the same as yours. I see your settings but I cannot figure out how to set my machine the same.
So sorry for the late reply, on the front of the machine there is this wheel right above where the name “Brother” is on the left side, you can play with that to set the tension.
You're awesome, thank you. Just thought I would tell you there is a ton of lint on the machine you're using, it will mess it up (I know I just had mine serviced $100 later) I bought a very soft two inch wide paint brush and between every project I dust every part off and every few projects when I change my needle I take the bobbin wheel out and dust all of that also... just dont try to get down in the bottom because these machines have sensors that can get messed up. There are a ton of videos on cleaning your machine.
Omg yes, my machine wasn’t working properly one day and I was so scared that it was ruined. Before I tried anything I opened everything where the bobbin is and there was tons of lint! I cleaned it and it worked!
How did you get the machine to start? Did you have to keep your foot on the pedal? A few videos I have seen act like the machine does it by itself. Do you tap the pedal once....???
When I pull down the lever as far as possible and then position it behind the bracket of the buttonhole foot as instructed, the start stop button turns red indicating the machine is not ready.
I’m using regular thread I found in my local fabric store. What machine are you using? some options you have to use different sewing feet, or different needles.
@@dailyandordinary I'm using a brother CE1100 Project runway machine. I did use the foot the machine says to use I don't know why it isn't sewing it right
Have you cleaned underneath your bobbing? There’s a screw that you can take off and remove the bobbing sometimes dust can interfere. Maybe retread the bobbing too.
This happened to me, did you clean where the bobbin goes? you can take the whole thing apart and get rid of the dust. This may help you elizabethmadethis.com/how-to-clean-a-sewing-machine/
I usually hand sew my buttons on. Place a mark on the fabric where the button should be based on your button hole, then hand sew with a doublt threaded needle.
I know this is meant to be nice and slow and that's great, it just wasn't the video for me. I haven't used my button hole foot in over a year and needed a refresher, honestly I skipped through half the video and had made three button holes by minute 7.

Thank you, easy to understand.
Thank you so much for the demonstration. The directions to the machine did not explain as plainly as you.
Thank you very helpful

There are some machines that are automatic once you put the needle foot down but mine uses a foot pedal and you need to keep your foot on it to sew
Thank you so much for this reply!! I appreciated your video too! I learned a lot from it! 😊
Thank you so much

I’m really sorry but we might have different sewing machines, mine doesn’t have any red lights or start/stop buttons.
Great video thank you
Thank you! So helpful! 😊
Thank you for this simple video
I'm just sewing a mess. What about the bobbin thread are you using it? I've tried 35 and 36 and they both just sew a messy line what am I doing wrong?

I have a Brother and it will not sew forward. Is there something I can do. I cleaned it out.

Ok but how do you add a button not the button hole..?
