I've never owned a gun, so I don't understand all the technicalities of the equipment. What I appreciate is the effort put into the reduction these of feral animals that ruin Australia's natural and agricultural regions.
B T - Are you not permitted to own a gun where you are? With the level of crazy going on in this world it seems everyone with a good brain would see they need self defense when things go fully bonkers.
Love the no nonsense, no bullshit, telling it like it is, commonsense, dont give a rats arse what you think, I'm doing it my way attitude. The passion you have for it, and that you're so open to explaining and sharing, it just shines though. It's just such a pleasure to watch. Champion work you're doing, and thats before you even start on the mongrel pests👍
Nathan, love your tongue in cheek remark on "effluent content creators on TH-cam". We all know that you meant influential (yeah, right), but left as it was, it was pretty accurate and a great laugh. Thanks for another great vid and your efforts at keeping Australia Beautiful. 👏👏👏
Algorithmic engagement comment. Plus, I personally can't wait for every one of the videos. I live in the Midwest USA and don't get out to hunt like I used to so I live vicariously through your videos. They're just great!
Thanks for the heads up on why you haven't uploaded in awhile. We'll be waiting for the next one, whenever it is. We have notifications turned on. If, you ever make it up to the states. We'll have a bucket of KFC original waiting for you. Stay well and shoot straight. Jon.
Another great video clearly displaying your professionalism mate. Glad you do not flood the channel with unnecessary content like some do, just to put something out there. All of your content/videos are worth waiting for. Keep up the great work.
While it can be done rudely or where irrelevant to the asker, making it universally shameful to ask is a tool of the wealthy. If you don't know that bloke next to you in the factory is earning 20% more than you it discourages you from asking for a raise and enables the exploitation of workers. Obviously not in this context, I wouldn't ask Nathan what he costs unless I wanted to hire him.
I do not come from a wealthy family, but we had a joyfully upbringing. I'm not talking about asking people you know well in context of a topic. This is people I don't know who often don't even use a polite sentence of enquiry.
👍 thumbs up on another informative video Nathan & totally agree with your comments on withholding certain information when appropriate. Appreciate your efforts in putting these videos together.
Wow so much information. Even though I understand most of what you are talking about, I still learned a lot. Suppressors certainly make a lot of sense for more effective pest control. Keep up the good work and make more entertaining videos. THANK YOU, from Canada.
Good evening Nathan. As you probably would know, half of what you went through tonight was way above my true understanding, but that is not why I look forward to your videos. I have had no problem recommending your channel to family overseas as I know that you do a fantastic job of culling feral animals humanely and consistently. I 100% support what you do, even if the detail is over my head. Keep up the good work.
Nathan took your advice on the INNOREL tripod and got one and went with the N52 ball head. Nice bit of gear and light to carry. Thanks for the advise and great videos.
I have never read too many comments but I'm surprised anyone would think there's someone wrong about thermals for any hunting in Australia, besides culling roos it's all introduced feral control even if they do it for sport. I could understand if you were hunting trophy animals in their natural habitat but there's none of that style hunting in Australia.
Thermal, night vision is just part of the toolkit in getting the job of pest control done. There is no point going out to do a job without the proper tools in any line of work.
I know late to the party here. But I always thought that anything that extends the length of your barrel will also shift the arc of the projie and point of impact. I.e. leaves the barrel slightly further from you, will extend range slightly if shooting on relatively flat ground. Would it differ from barrel harmonics. I’m not sure. Cool vid. Always good to have these info sessions for those curious. I’m definitely in the curious camp 👍🏻
Thanks mate. From my understanding the only thing that changes the arc or AKA trajectory is speed. A longer barrel will shoot faster. But adding a suppressor or muzzle brake doesn't add speed in the same efficiency longer barrel can.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK yep that’s what I mean. But of course there’s other limiting factors like your powder. It can only push a projie so fast, and there’s friction and other things coming into the equation. So there’s limits of effectiveness in barrel length with smaller calibres. But I definitely agree.
I have learnt so much from this channel.. thankyou so much for sharing your tips and your experiences.. don't let the haters get to you mate because let's face it they probably couldn't hit an elephants arse from 10ft.. keep the vids coming legend 🤙🤙
Agree with all your comments, mate, pity that many may not share them, but then we have a lot of zeroes in this country. Good shooting even without your rifles!
Good stuff, nice direct style. Basically you do what works for you, while acting within your local regs and treating your quarry in a humane manner. From my own experience in the uk over 20 years of deer and vermin control - I used 6br, it's inherently accurate and low recoil, especially with a suppressor, or moderator fitted. I always headshot fallows, no more than 200 yards. Saves all that tracking malarkey and the game dealers give a better price than for undamaged carcasses. But as you say, shoot within your capability. The benefit with handloading is that as long as you have a good stock of components you can always recreate your loading. Factory ammo is not always consistently available. I'm impressed by your abilty on moving targets with thermal, I preferred to wait for a static target, so once again, within my capability. I'm now retired, I judged my age and fitness level to be insufficient and called it a day. But I get much pleasure from your presentation and can relive some of my own experiences through you. Keep it up mate, shooters have enough enemies. We need to stick together.
Hey Nathan, just got into shooting again, love the way you eat dirty bird ( original of course )and just enjoy yourself out in the paddocks. geez, you got the gear, bloody jealous to be honest. Anywho champ i am totally loving any content you post. bloody good shot too, picking up pointers every vid. stay safe, shoot straight.
Hey mate , perfect video explained everything very well I hope this channel helps in someway towards the move to CAT D With Some of those pig reduction videos I can’t help but think how much better off you’d be with one So fingers crossed you end up with a nice Aussie made CAT D rifle in your hands soon enough Enjoy the content regardless Cheers mate !
Hi I get the same question when I had a truck accident and lost my leg above the knee a lot of people just asked me out you must’ve got a lot of money in the other one is how did that happen and these are people that I don’t even know go out to the shops many people ask me Love your videos keep up the good work knocking them on the head, Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
Another great vid mate, a fair bit of common sense answers there that will help some newbies, keep up the great conservation work getting rid of ferals so our native species might have a chance 👍
Good morning from here in the UK. Keep ignoring the negative comments from the morons out there who plainly don't know what they're talking about. Never ceases to amaze me, despite our very strict firearms laws, how easy and inexpensive it is to get a moderator/suppressor here in the UK for all shooters. Great video. Avoid TH-cam burn out, Keep posting.
Many thanks for uploading this vid, from your earlier videos I know that you don't really care too much about the negative, blunt & dumb comments, good on ya! Your reply about making videos, I couldn't agree more with you! Any video you can make while on the job is a bonus. Go hunting to make a video is a big no no. Be Safe Mate!!!
Love your vids mate, took me a long time to warm to the zinger next time you visit the Colonel, ask for a "fillets box with zinger fillets" gotta be concise or they'll stuff it up It's a bit of a hack, the zinger filets are way bigger & tastier compare with the ordinary ones & i'll refund to your patrion if you don't agree 😅
Again another great video. Your reload is almost as fast as a semi anyway. :) Nice to see you got the suppressor(s?). Noticed that you don't spook the pigs or rabbits as much with it. They just stop and look around. Just curios - I understand suppressors are supposed loose effectiveness after a few shots. Can you clean it and restore its suppression or do you need to replace parts. Hope you keep the passion, feral animals do a lot of damage to the land and native fauna. Keep up the good work.
I like your videos, can't see too many cat videos! I would like to see one of these complainers of yours put their arm in a box containing a wild cat, and see if there is anything left in a minute or two. I used to shoot cats ( and dingos ) East of Coober Pedy, along the inside of the dog fence and some of those cats were the size of a corgi. I now shoot in country WA with a 243, nice all round cartridge. Good idea on the red LED for night shooting, the iris is not affected by the red light and you keep your night vision. Regarding the night vision scopes, maybe we should ban lures and echo sounders for fishing as it is not sporting either. Go back to the Huckleberry Finn days and use a single shot or even a muzzle loader. Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate. While the red light does help with night vision. Looking into a bright thermal screen can be a bloody problem 🤦♂️. We call it the black eye if using a monocular.
Nathan, haters will hate, especially when they arent wearing your shoes or in your Country. Oh, Original Recipe, and white Twix only, or someone might get a pellet in the arse! ❤️😁 Thanks for all you do.
Greatly appreciated Nathan and I have zero interest in sport, my focus is results, so the guys that are anti-thermal, they shouldn't have a rifle, they need a wooden recurve bow with wooden arrows, ride a horse to the office and disconnect the electricity from their houses.
I watch your videos with relish because you operate in a professional, matter-of-fact way. My super-noob experience hunting spans from the late 70s into the early 2000s, very intermittently. I have shot prey to feed either myself or my dogs, and not often. I've also only used .22 rifles. However, I've always made a point to aim for headshots. I figure that if I miss, my bad. But a clean kill is what I want. And here's the embarrassing thing about my shooting experience...I've had to shoot 6 animals...ever...bonus? All six were headshots between 30 and 100 metres with standard sights. I'll never end up shooting as a job (too old), but still pride myself on my accuracy when I did operate a rifle. Humane kills are important.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK It's why I admire you. You shoot professionally and the vast majority of your shots are instant kills. I watch closely. I think I've gotten to a point that while watching I see when a shot won't be clean. I have a 100cm HD TV as a computer monitor, so I get to see some detail of sorts. No mainstream TV aerial or broadband Netflix stuff, TH-cam is my television. You do a brilliant job mate. Much respect.
I've never owned a gun, so I don't understand all the technicalities of the equipment. What I appreciate is the effort put into the reduction these of feral animals that ruin Australia's natural and agricultural regions.
Hugely appreciate the support mate 🍻
B T - Are you not permitted to own a gun where you are?
With the level of crazy going on in this world it seems everyone with a good brain would see they need self defense when things go fully bonkers.
You need a genuine reason in Australia (not self defense) to legally own and use firearms. Along with the applicable licensing 👍
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK - I guess that means anyone with a brain in Aussie would want to help reduce your critters then. 😳
Having a go at a pest controller for using thermal is like having a go at a chippy for using an electric saw.
That's a great way of putting things 💪

Absolutely it's rude to ask about earnings in any form. Good work Nathan 👍.
