What makes Sonny and Carly relationship so special is their history together. They started off as arch enemies that hated each other with a passion hooked up together had sex then she got pregnant. I think what won a lot of fans over is her miscarriage. Then watching Sonny who usually grieves harder than anyone I know take good care of the woman he use to hate? I think from there, this is were their friendship grew into romance. There was no other woman left on GH who could even hold a candle to Brenda accept Carly. Brenda was too childish for Sonny really and there was no story line there accept jealousy. He being jealous of her and Miguel's friendship, then she being jealous of Sonny and Lily then finally becoming obsessed and losing her mind over Sonny. I got so sick and tired of watching her pine away over Sonny constantly! Slowly degrading herself and becoming weak made me want to puke her life became about Sonny and only Sonny. Then you have some S&B fans saying this story line didn't have no chemistry or Romance. Brenda always played the victim with all her men she was always very needed even with Jack. The only chemistry Brenda and Sonny had was sex and jealousy and mental illness watching that grew old fast. Then you have some fans saying the way he talked to Carly was degrading? No the way he treated Brenda at the end was degrading! Because there is nothing more embarrassing than being left at the alter then slowly watching Brenda lose her mind because of it. Sonny and Carly has mature love these two been through a lot together and that's why they still rocking it. I'm a strong woman that hate to see a strong woman become weak and defenseless over a man who ever wrote Brenda's character like that needed to be shot!
Carly is always begging Sonny to like her. Carly is immature and insecure. Brenda never had to be. There was a lot of story line there if VM had of stayed. Carly was always just gross to me...Carson fans overestimate the level of attraction and chemistry. S&B was pure love and romance. Carson is mostly raunch and hatred and abuse...There is nothing mature nor romantic about that and the pairing of Carson tanked the show because it was a downgrade.

Brenda actually taught Sonny how to love and how to open up and be in a relationship. He was AWFUL to her but he also thought she was going to send him to jail when he finally realized that wasn’t going to happen he didn’t treat her like that anymore. He left her at the alter because he couldn’t handle the thought of her getting killed because of his business. He never had that same regard for anyone else that he was with.

I don't think Nina could hang like that. Carly can. Their problem is not that they don't love each other. They will always love each other. Sonny gets sidetracked a lot.

Every time I here Caroline Benson or Carly Corinthos, I see this woman right here. Not Laura or any of the other actresses that played Carly. I see Sarah. It still to this day pisses me off that she left the role because she was the best woman to play her. She set the bar and no one can top that. Not even Laura and Laura is doing an amazing job at being Carly. But no one can top Sarah.
