Here we go guys, the FINAL of the Kanto True Power Tournament, with Giovanni facing off against Blue! Who will emerge the Champion!? This is the last battle before we continue with the Loser's Bracket to see who will get a chance to challenge the Champion! Hope you guys are excited Thanks for the support on the series so far, it means the world to see so many people enjoying it. Don't forget to drop a like and comment to help the algorithm pick up the series!
SilphSpectre it’s great to have you back, I genuinely hope you’ve found a healthy balance between life and your channel. We care about ya! Keep up the awesome work!
Giovanni had the superior team, in fact. Any of his sweepers could have destroyed Blue with the right setup, and honestly, Gyarados nearly did. But Blue played perfectly, keeping his counters until the very end and neutralizing Mewtwo with perfect predictive tactics. A true Champion.
Either way blue knew he had to take out that Mewtwo as effectively as possible before it started gaining momentum. I mean if Giovanni thought just a few moves ahead of blue he would have anticipated his switch out fake out tactic. I mean really if my opponent threw in a poison type against my psychic type I would definitely anticipate a switch out which was definitely what Giovanni was thinking.
That was one hell of a battle! I was afraid of a triple Moxie boost Gyarados, but the highlight was the accurate predictions of dealing with Mewtwo via Venasaur and Tyranitar!
Honestly, that predict of Mewtwo attacking Tyranitar was next level and super clutch. That move literally won Blue the match (eliminating Mewtwo all together). Giovanni had a nice comeback but fell short with Nidoking unfortunately.
This match deserves a place in the hall of fame. Before us is the true power not just in the sense of the mons doing the fighting, but also in the strategy that has gone into the battle. Mind-blowing. Thank you, SilphSpectre - this is awesome stuff.
Yo that battle background is sick! love how they've been getting more intense as each round progresses. What a series i'm so excited to see how this ends (and for the Johto tournament!!!)
Beyond excited this battle came out on my birthday. Even more excited that Silph became well enough to make it in the first place. Well played universe, well played
I have a stupid prediction here. I’m gonna predict that Red is actually going to make a losers bracket run and meet Blue in the finals. Because c’mon we all know that’s the finals we want. Red coming in with a redemption arc beating Giovanni in the rematch and coming face to face with his rival for the finals.
Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for this series. I know you've been through a lot lately as you said in your recent video but this series has been fantastic. I personally loved this idea and concept and loved how you executed it. Hats off to you and thank you for this it really brought me back to my switch to play competitively again
When this series first started I wasn't really that invested but the more i watched the more i really started to like it, by the semi finals i was watching every episode with glee. Great job silph, this was fantastic.
Giovanni really needed to take that free dragon dance opportunity before taking out Blue's Charizard. Gyarados would've outsped Charizard after the dragon dance allowing it to take it out without taking another hit in return. He knew the Alakazam would destroy him no matter what if he didn't outspeed it; it literally wasn't even a choice of whether to use dragon dance, but when, but he still didn't use it. It's not important to take out a pokemon if you know another in the roster will sweep your team; if you can set up now to keep it from taking you out later, you need to do it.
Good Lord I've been clapping and cheering throughout this entire battle - and this entire tournament really! A phenominal game. And a really great Lore here too. Beautiful.
As always, great match! Glad to see my favorite trainer ever took his rightful place on top! Oh god, I just realized something... if Red dethrones Blue just after he won a championship AGAIN, I will R I O T !!!
Yeah! Instead of, like… just standing there with a single grunt in the building not being defeated, and simply leaving you (Red/Green) to deal with the most powerful CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION of the region after his loss…!
I am so happy this series is back. This is seriously what I look forward to watching everyday. Thank you for bringing so much joy to my day with these, they’re amazing. Keep ‘em comin!
Second comment! I'm so pumped for this final. EDIT: Wow, what an absolutely terrific battle. The plays and misplays were all so crucial, and I can't believe how back and forth this ended up being. Truly great work Silph, what an impressive tournament you've put together!
holy hell Silph, what a series and finale. so satisfying to see Giovanni finally get a win vs red, even more so to see Blue win vs the prof., either way this match would go down in legend. Misty winning vs Bruno and Brock winning vs Koga were both so hype, please tell me you have a true power tournament lined up for the gen 2 games.
Did not see that coming. Gotta love the fact that even after seeing so many matches with these two this match still provided plenty of surprises. Rooting for a red vs blue grand final
Hey man, didn’t see your last three vids bc of algorithm but glad to see you’re back and I’m about to catch up! Glad you’re feeling better dude and thanks for this series.
The best battle ever! Who ever operates that Blue, you have my respect. The way Blue handled the mewtwo and the crazy moxie gyarados really blown me away!
Awesome! Really glad to see this final battle! SPOILER: And really happy how it ended! SO happy, that the OP-legendary Mewtwo didn't make the difference. Brilliant how Blue outplayed him. Giovanni hasn't had the greatest games throughout the entire tournament, but got carried by Mewtwo, so it's great to see somebody outplaying him. Great final! Brilliant tournament! Keep the great content coming!
These last two battles were absolute bangers, and your commentating skills have become very fine tuned over the course of this tournament. Can;t wait to see what is to come in the Loser's Bracket!
I literally spit out my drink when Blue played Venusaur vs Mewtwo in the corner and outplayed Giovanni. That entire set up was brilliant. His set up to bait out and wear down Giovanni's biggest threats to lead into a 1v1 of Nidoking vs a basically healthy Alakazam...what a battle worthy of Winner's Finals.
I'm loving this series and can't wait to see how the losers' bracket goes. Props to Blue for those amazing plays against the Mewtwo, I don't think he could have predicted it any more flawlessly.
SPOILERS: This tourney ended up as Death Note. Kira battled the main threat in the semis and won, but the finals he was outsmarted by the true champion, and L's successor.
Before watching this monumental battle, I have only one thing to say: GO BLUE!!! Edit: Yahoo! It's just like I said before the Oak generation battle: Blue is the only one with the defensive Pokemon to actually withstand Giovanni's assaults, particularly Mewtwo's. Those switches and predictions were just perfectly on-point, and I'm glad to see Giovanni get outsmarted by Blue, considering what a silly mistake the former made in his battle with Janine. (Not predicting his opponent's one Dark-type coming in on his Mewtwo.) Blue's decision to keep Alakazam in reserve was also a fantastically smart move, knowing that Nidoking was coming. This was just the most perfect battle ever, showcasing perfectly how cunning and good plays can beat a team with more raw power on paper. (Let's take a moment to acknowledge that Giovanni has three Uber Pokemon on his team--Mewtwo, Mega-Kang, and Arena Trap Dugtrio, plus Sand Veil Garchomp, who was once an Uber as well.) It's also a great one from a narrative perspective: the supervillain is on the verge of winning everything with his overwhelmingly strong team, but the former rival has grown enough as a trainer to finally be the hero for once. The only way the battle could have been any better is if the Vs. World Champion theme was playing in the background, because it sounds like Blue's ominous final boss music remixed to a lighter and more heroic atmosphere. For a nice bit of irony: in the anime, Gary said that no one could beat Giovanni's Mewtwo, shortly after it KO'd his Nidoking with Psychic. In Origins, Red defeated Mewtwo after it wrecked Blue's team. Here, however, Blue beats Giovanni's Mewtwo without losing any Pokemon to it, knocks out Giovanni's Nidoking with Psychic, and he does it right after Giovanni wrecked Red!
The way blue took out that mewtwo was fucking expert, the predictions with the leech seed, and then the sandstorm to take that health down. Awesome battle
@@adwaithanand3960 I guess it can't be perfect, considering we're talking fictional characters. Lord knows this is better than the asspull battles from the anime, but according to Silph, they're both about even in skill.

I said it before, and I'll say it again! Red vs Giovanni > Giovanni wins Blue vs Oak > Blue wins Giovanni vs Blue > Blue wins Red wins losers bracket, rematches for the final match vs Blue > Red wins I called it on Twitter, and I'm excited to see it!! Great win, Blue, you earned that!!
The counter play of mewtwo is a great example of prep by scouting your opponents team and habits. Switching in ttar to take psychic move then surviving with sandstorm/chople is masterful play that could easily have been for nothing but when a play like that works it works well.
SPOILERS That was an absolutely wicked battle!! Blue's predictions were out of this world. It was one thing to outsmart the Mewtwo predictions, but he then set up Mega Charizard as a sack so Venusaur could out speed Gyarados. If it wasn't for that play, Alakazam wouldn't have been able to easily finish him. If Giovanni had predicted like Blue, he could've seen the set up for Chlorophyll and gotten a dragon dance off against Mega Charizard. No way he was going to get knocked out in one turn, and he could've later outsped Alakazam. My mind had too much fun with that. Competitive battling is an itch of mine, and Blue absolutely deserved that one. Great battles!!
It wasn't as long as I predicted it would be but it was a great final battle nonetheless. Blue was always a genius trainer and he definitely proved just how much of a genius he was the way he took out the Mega Kangaskhan and Mewtwo. He knew they were the big threats and had to be taken out while also maintaining the strongest members of his team. Once they were taken out the rest of Giovanni's team would be a lot easier to handle with the only threats left being Garchomp and Gyarados but he already had good counters for them. Anyway I definitely enjoy this tournament and I'm looking forward to seeing who's going to be facing Blue from the losers bracket. My money's on red!

i am completely STUNNED at how well Blue dealt with Mewtwo... it couldn't do a thing between Pursuit chance and predictions. Amazing battle
I mean he could have predicted the switch on the 2nd turn, but maybe he was predicting that blue might predict that^^
I agree. Perfect plays on the part of blue. He took out the greatest threat near effortlessly.
Either way blue knew he had to take out that Mewtwo as effectively as possible before it started gaining momentum. Giovanni got outplayed so good
Thanks!
Giovanni thought he outsmarted Blues' Outsmarting, but Blue outsmarted the outsmarting by outsmarting the outsmarting
Idk the heck its means😂😂
Blue went complete Jojo on his ass! He outsmarted his outsmarting!
That was one hell of a battle! I was afraid of a triple Moxie boost Gyarados, but the highlight was the accurate predictions of dealing with Mewtwo via Venasaur and Tyranitar!
That triple moxie had the potential to one-shot pretty much everything.

@Donald Trump The sad truth. Gosh, I would really like to see a best 2 out of 3 with these teams. A lot of these battles came down to the wire.

The ONE time Alakazam survives a hit lol
Kevin Figueroa 🤣 yooo he had me worried like are you SERIOUSLY going down to a poison attack?!
It was a special Nidoking. It doesn't bear Earthquake, but Earth Power, which is slightly weaker from Sludge Wave.
Also was really surprised it wasn't magic guard on the alakazam
