Interesting system that young man. Apparently, the ID tag on the collar of the calf triggers the milk to be mixed and then the system monitors intake for each calf. The only thing that I don't understand is, what happens to the mothers colostrum? Or are the calves fed the colostrum and then moved onto the auto feeder? For me, the mother colostrum is better than any powdered mix. I could be wrong and I have been in the past on a few occassions! Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Good video that young man!

They would be given probably 3l of colostrum and then at a guess would be moved onto milk replacer at about 2 weeks old

That would make sense and be a good way forward.

Thanks DingleZilla. That's right the collars are the calves id for the feeders. When the calf is born they all get 3 litres of colostrum stomach tubed within the first 2 hours from birth. Each calf is spending 10 to 14 days in individual hutches drinking new milk. They are then getting taking to the new set up once they are up and away

That's a cracking system, I was thinking it would use cows milk, not mix it's own lol

They do a system which will do milk and powder, this is the cheaper option

What would be your opinion on buying a second hand urban auto calf feeder? Around 10k new I think and around 4/5k second hand, great video

Go second hand. That's what we've done, the price new was 20,000. This lot was 5,000, that included all the collars
